Worst Movie You’ve Seen (1 Viewer)

Only times I’ve left the theater we’re Darkman and Independence Day.

Vanilla Sky was putrid also.

I don’t understand leaving during Independence Day. I’m not saying it’s great or anything, but it’s exactly what you should have expected from that movie. It’s a dumb alien action movie.

Batman and Robin

The Sixth Man

Dungeons & Dragons

And a nod to that Dr Moreau pick... Brando looked like he had given up while Val looked like he hadn't even begun. Heard from movie friends that Brando never learned his lines- would have them written off camera on extras and sets. Kilmer loved that.

saw it on opening night.  No, I didn’t expect that train wreck.

Independence Day was great. The family LOVES it when I get drunk and deliver Bill Pullman's speech every July 4.

he Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day the world declared in one voice: ‘We will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight! We’re going to live on! We’re going to survive!’ Today, we celebrate our Independence Day!”

welcome to earth

I would say Dogma, but I turned it off when that poop monster thing showed up, so can't say if it improved after that.

My other nominees:

Reefer Madness

Showgirls

Jack and Jill

Freddy Got Fingered

Batman and Robin

Striptease

Howard the Duck

Personally, I absolutely hated Love Actually and Empire Records but I recognize they aren't that bad compared to the truly putrid movies.

Showgirls
Ok, your other choices are solid, but Showgirls is not even in the same league as, say, Freddy Got Fingered.

It's not a great movie, but as a Saved By The Bell fan from back in the day, the amount of Jessie Spano nudity puts this near the top of my guilty pleasure movies.

Jessie couldn’t even have fake sex well. Who thrashes about her chest when having sex?

Cool as Ice    :bag:
If you're familiar with Mystery Science 3000, the same guys have done bunch of movies under the name Rifftrax.  It's the same premise, except it's just their voices over the movie...no robots, no set...nothing like that.  They did Cool As Ice and it was on Amazon Prime video.  It was hysterical.

"Happiness" -  procuring the poster for this miserable ####### monstrosity and dropping a steaming deuce on it has long been a bucket list entry.  this thread reminded me that i need to get on with that ####.

Bad Boy Bubby

By far the worst movie I have ever seen.

Alien: Covenant is the most recent top scorer, although I must admit that American Asssassin was also laughably bad and I purposely did not go to see Geostorm, nor will I stream it.

Some relatively recent nominees:

He's Just Not That Into You

The Hangover (never saw the sequels)

What Happened in Vegas

From the more distant past:

Closer

The Todd Solondz thing?

Yeah. I do give him credit for getting some great acting and technical production. but the story seemed to be about pissing off and upsetting the viewer more than entertaining us. I guess I also give him credit for eliciting an emotional response which is more than a lot of cynically terrible horrible drek does, but yuck.

Batman and Robin

The Sixth Man

Dungeons & Dragons

I still stand by these, especially blue-lipped Jeremy iron's D&D.

ETA... I walked out of Batman and Robin. And came really close to walking out of the sixth man- even though I saw it on a plane.

yes.

and spot on assessment - not only that, but it was a looooong ### movie, 2+++ hours of dreck  :X

further complicating matters was the fact that i had the "pleasure" of catching it opening weekend, in a packed to the gills Angelika, on a date with some Yenta who was an 'extra' in the flick ... had to politely wait 'til her nano second of screen time passed before i stumbled the #### outta there, climbing/stepping over folks as i bum rushed out that mutha (we were last two seats in the row, smack up against the wall).

awful.

I like Matrix 2.  Got all philosophical.
Yeah I was super into the Matrix at the time and I like the idea of two. It doesn’t hold up to well on rewatch, but the car chase scene with the albino hitmen alone made it worth watching.

That's because nobody has actually watched it start to finish.

My additions:

The Island- clones of famous people are living tissue donors for said famous people, they find out and escape. Just bad.

Skeleton Key- horror movie involving hoodoo and body switching. The bad guys win, we all lose by being subjected to such trash.

It should be noted that these movies were selected by my wife's friend when my wife and I were dating in college. She didn't get to pick movies anymore.
LOL....i enjoyed that one.

In terms of which I hated the most....The Piano   or   Magnolia

The Fan. Snipes a baseball player, DeNiro a stalker fan.
C'mon Bobb-ayyyyyy

"Boyhood".  Absolute crap.
Yeah this sucked

The Sixth Man

Dungeons & Dragons

That D&D movie was awful... all I remember was Matthew McCaughaney grunting a bunch.  The old school cartoon was bad ### though.   Need to see if that's available anywhere

Showgirls is in the so bad it's good category.   Best part is when those chimps get loose in the dressing room

I like this one a lot, but then again I'm pretty twisted.   Welcome to the Dollhouse and Storytelling both good too, his other stuff has kinda sucked though

Pretty easily it's Caddyshack II for me.  Jackie Mason.  :shudder:
Pretty good entry. I can't remember a more disappointing movie. Putrid as a standalone movie and insulting as a sequel to the original. Worst movie ever should have no redeeming qualities and this qualifies. I can at least goof on Showgirls or From Justin to Kelly.

yeah, i'm a pretty twisted fella myself, but ... that pos flick tried too hard - shocking and taboo subject matter simply for the sake of shocking and taboo subject matter is trite, and incredibly boring - the whole "ooooohhhhh, look at us peeling back the curtains of suburbia!!!! WOW, AREN'T WE EDGY AS ####!!1!1 HOW SHOCKED ARE YOU THAT WE WENT THERE??!? HUH? SHOCKING, RIGHT?!?"

meh, i'd rather eat cat #### with a knittin' needle  :wall:

"The Ice Storm" and "Lyme Life" did it muchmuchmuchmuch better, and without the hack pretentiousness.

you're thinking about the dragon movie. no mccaughaney in D&D- jeremy irons and of all people, marlon wayans.

Ah right, Reign of Fire or something.   Both sucked hard.  Was Thora Birch in D&D
maybe. probably. why not.

I actually preferred the reign of fire thing.

I took the wife to D&D while we were still dating- needed a movie that fit that available, spur-of-the-moment, time and location and that was it. to her credit she agreed and didn't even complain (that much). exhibit 4c in the "pros" table I should have made when making my marry/don't-marry list.

Was Thora Birch in D&D
she most certainly was

the glorious offspring of 70s Cali porn stalwarts Carol Connors and Jack Birch ... shame she petered out  :(

ps- speaking of the "Happiness" "Ice Storm" ilk, i loathe "American Beauty", but Ms. Birch killed it as Janey - the heart of the movie pulsed in her dialogue.

pps- and the should've been nominated for "Ghost World"

a medium? why sir, don't you know for a mere 25 cents more you can purchase a large beverage? and ya know...(glares at manager) i'm only telling you this because we are SUCH good friends and mediums are only for suckers who don't know the concept of value!

Recently:  The Great Wall (Matt Damon cash grab)  was ####### horrible.

:lmao:

the scene directly prior to that -

frazzled dude at concessions: "you guys serve any beer? alcohol?"

Enid: "I wish ... no, actually, you wish ... after about 5 minutes of this movie you're gonna wish you had ten beers"

frazzled dude stumbles away -

Theater Manager: "what in the hell are you doing?!?!?"

Enid: "I'm messing with the customers, it's my shtick!"
