WR A.J. Brown, PHI (2 Viewers)

Tempted to just roll with Demarcus Robinson instead of hedging with Dotson or RayRay.

What are the chances we get a Sunday update on Brown? And when?
About as much chance as a Sunday update as you got for CMC last Sunday.

The only updates we normally get are on late Saturday night for the Sunday games. It is normally crickets when it comes to Monday night games until it is too late.

I feel good about Worthy replacing him, but Nailor not so much. I suppose my other option could be Parkinson or JSN. Yippee

Hm, so here's my situation. I'm just gonna think out loud (in text) for the fun of it.

I could opt to either:
(A) go without Brown, and start both Etienne and Godwin
or
(B) start just Godwin, then if Brown is still questionable Sunday, put Swift in instead Sunday night; or if Brown is known to be good to go before the Sunday night game, Brown stays in, Swift stays on the bench.

It all boils down to:
(1) The probability that Brown is cleared before Sunday Night Football
(2) Expected point difference of Brown (given that he plays) - Swift
(3) Expected point difference of Etienne - Swift

Or in other words ...
Would you rather:
100% Etienne
Or
35% Brown
65% Swift
(35% is the probability that Brown is cleared before SNF, just an estimate.)

Go with A

In the one league that I have him rostered in—I ended up dropping Adam Thielen for Dotson. My opponent has a very strong team—and I feel like I need Brown to beat him. I could have started Deandre Hopkins over him—but that scares me. My plan is to leave Brown in my lineup—and if bad news comes out—I’ll decide between Allgier and Dotson (most likely it will be Dotson) if he misses. Some of the others in here certainly have far better options that I do.

Picked up dotson on waiver last night, really lucky he was available in a deep league. I'm still hoping aj can play, but then again would rather he skipped the game if it means being healthy ros.

This sucks, but I have Goedert on my bench and I'll probably plug him in at flex if AJ can't go rather than trying to drop someone in order to pick up Dotson.

That is a better option then what I will have

I’m favored so probably playing Dell instead.
But aren’t you “favored” because AJB is in your lineup?

Also, those platform projections are not the most reliable imo.

I think I have to sit him due to MNF. Will be moving Aiyuk to WR2 and Robinson Jr to my flex.

It's a shame this happened during the prime time week.

I only have aj brown in a 3 flex dynasty league.

My options are chase brown or t spears for that last flex spot if I sit aj brown.

Maybe just let it ride and hope he plays.

I picked up Texans to play over Browns...I could drop them and pickup Dotson. Or I have Jovante Williams to slot in. Thoughts?

Who steps in?

God knows we'll see more D. Smith and Goedert.
yeah, I wouldn't trust Dotson. I think a lot more RB action is going to be the plan.
I'm actually comfortable starting Dotson. We know the entire offense was hamstrung last year by awful play calling and spotty QB play. I think the change to Philly will only show the talent Dotson has that we all saw his rookie year. I'm cheering for him to do well in a losing effort ;)

I picked a great week to stop drinking.
Puka
A.J.
Engram
CMC
Ferguson

I need another hobby.
Damn man. Assuming you mean all on the same team, that's rough.
All on the same team
And only those two tight ends rostered with all waivers done AFTER the Engram news broke
But I don't want any sympathy
Maybe a gift card would help though
Can't you pick someone up now?
Nope
Last waivers at 10:00am this morning

Is the AJ Brown injury something that will
linger or it’s a 1 week type?
Just my $0.02, but anytime a "felt something in practice" leads to a "will not play" days ahead of a game (instead of a gametime decision)... speaks to the severity of the injury.

I’m concerned he won’t play @ NOLA next week which is probably a must win game for both teams considering both are contenders…Saints feel a bit more legit to me though right now.

I hope Hurts doesn’t struggle without him. Praying even. But big bodies WR’s with hamstring injuries…no bueno. He relies off of physicality and explosion off of the line and galloping down the field…really need him to get right soon but I don’t think he will be available soon.

Just got an answer... kinda... MNF sideline reporter saying she spoke to AJ Brown before the game about his hammy... just a freak thing in practice... felt it tighten up... doesn't think it's too bad... should only be out A COUPLE OF WEEKS!
