WR A.J. Brown, PHI (2 Viewers)

How confident on a scale of 1-10 do you trust his knee to allow him to play the entire game?
1- he'll be out early
10- he'll play the entire game
Somewhere in between

8, not sitting him out of fear of a setback. Treating him as a low-end WR1. More afraid Philly might take their foot off the gas if Dallas can't keep up.

Looks like Smith will play but he might be more hobbled than AJ is. Hurts will complete at least a couple touchdown bombs in this game, AJB is likely to catch at least one of them.

with Dak not playing and CD potentially hobbled even more than AJ, not sure how much throwing deep will be required past first half. have to hope that AJ gets his early in the game since even without the injury concerns he may not have to do much in the second half. if this is the new Eagle we see Sunday, then be concerned if you have to start AJ like me. If it's the old Eagles then they'll let Rush score a few TDs and hang around, needing AJ to do more down the stretch. Hoping for the former for real football, but won't be mad at the latter for fantasy even though it'll be frustrating as hell to watch.

CD is going to play from what i can see

No Smith this week and in a game that could be an enormous shootout. Buckle up gents, AJB is primed for an ENORMOUS weekend.
I'm getting skeptical...He was supposed to blow up agains Washington, Dallas (over 100 yds ok but not explosive), Jax. He has 3 td's all season. This O goes thru Hurts & Saquan everyone else is begging for TD scraps. I'm a little underwhelmed as a first timer with AJ.

I mean, he's essentially played 6 games, so 3 TDs isn't awful. Not everyone is gonna have Amon-Ra like TD consistency. Throwing out that Jags game, where he got knocked out in the 2nd quarter, he's averaging 97 yards a week, which is only behind Nico Collins, and is averaging a TD every 2 weeks, which is equal to Justin Jefferson. Even counting that Jags game, he's bascially lived up to his draft position. Not counting it, he's been a top-5 WR.

The Eagles have tended to REALLY consolidate whenever a piece is missing. There is a good chance Smith's targets mainly just go to Brown, with maybe a couple to Goedert. Brown gets 10 targets, he's a threat for #1 overall in any game, especially against a bad pass D like the Rams.

This is an eruption spot. I can't imagine treating AJ like anything other than a top-5 WR this week, with WR1 overall being very likely, especially in a week where Chase is on bye.

Has AJ been quiet relative to most of the expectations around him coming into this season? He's been good but I honestly was expecting more domination. Especially with Smith and Goedert being oft injured.

I understand the O has been going through Barkley and they are rushing so much, but still man.

I don’t know. He’s #6 in PPG in my non-ppr league. Seems pretty good considering how little they have thrown the ball in the redzone this year.

The Eagles pass less than literally every team in the league. Dead last in attempts. He is still getting yards, but definitely lacking on the TD front.

He's WR19 in my 0.5 PPR.

He's vastly underused. His on-field play is as good as ANY WR in the NFL.

Total pts or points per game?

A.J. Brown's two targets through three quarters were his fewest in any game he's played three quarters since joining the Eagles in 2022.

They're getting him the ball more on this drive, but with no Jaycee Horn in the game, would make even more sense to feed him. It's like a easy button they don't push.

Yeah he's a fantasy bust all things considered imo. I was between him and Barkley and went with the "safe" option of him being an uber elite WR1. He just isn't that this season.

I won despite him this week. If you did as well, good things may be on the horizon.
Stars tend to get fed after voicing some frustration.

AJ Brown in Weeks 1-3: 22.1 PPR points per game
AJ Brown since then: 12.7 PPR points per game

related

Jalen Hurts hasn't had 30 pass attempts in a game since Week 4. From Week 1 to Week 4, he averaged 33 pass attempts per game. Since then, he's been at 21.4.

To add:

Jalen Hurts turnovers weeks 1-4: 7 (4 INTs, 5 Fmb (3 FL))
Jalen Hurts turnovers since: 2 (1 INT, 3 Fmb (1 FL))

The Eagles have found the recipe of how to best utilize Hurts and win games.

The best thing about this situation is literally AJ Brown is his QB's literal best friend. And he just got a new contract. No bridges will be burnt. Competitors want the ball and they want to win.

First four weeks, Eagles 2-2. Since then 9-0. Everything shifted after the bye; focused on more of a run heavy attack, defense got Cooper and Vic started to figure out what he has with these players (and has since turned them into the best defense in the league). When you are holding people to 16-17 ppg you really don’t need to be winging it around 30 times per game.

This was my point in the Hurts thread. Why are they trying to fix something that isn’t broken?

Next week vs Steelers Brown, Smith and Hurts will go off. Steelers are awful in Philly. Steelers will get exposed in a blowout. Start all your eagles next week with confidence.

That’s certainly a possibility. The Steelers have also only lost 3 games all year by a total of 11 points. That team is impressing me more and more every week.

If Porter is covering Brown, don’t expect a big fantasy day. Not because Porter can shut Brown down. Simply because Brown will just keep drawing PI flags.

Eagles are doing what it takes to win. They have the best OL in football or near the best along with the best or arguably the best RB and they are winning games by running more and passing less. I expected more from AJ and I was tempted on benching him this week.

This is more about the passing game has to be more efficient if AJ Brown is going to be useful from a fantasy perspective. The real football AJ may not need to be an extreme target hoarder if the Eagles can run the ball and play defense.

They could have lost to Carolina because when they needed to pass they didn’t do it well.

Would certainly help the Steelers causes if there is a rift b/w Hurts and Brown, that only leaves Smth, Goddert and some RB, #26 I think it is, and a running QB, and the tush push. Philly is tough, and for reasons that have been around forever, the Steelers, much like the Penguins used to have, cannot win in Philly. Plus, Pickens is likely out again.

Damn I didn't know Pickens was out again. That is a huge loss against a team like Philly. We can beat a team like Cleveland without our top WR but not the upper elites of the league. Goddert is out I'm pretty sure.

Brown will get fed next week. Just like he always does when he whines and cries about his lack of targets even though the team is winning. We’ve all seen this show before
It's not just Brown, it's all the diva WR's. They complain, they usually get fed.
Yes, all of the divas. And he is apparently the biggest one of them in the league
