WR A.J. Green, ARZ (3 Viewers)

Interesting. Marvelous Marv saying he is day to day and could play next week.

Would that be a bad thing? Should he take another week to better heal? Are the Bengals pushing to hard this year to reach the big show?
isnt that the point of every NFL team? leave it all on the field?
They play him next week and he aggravates the toe to a point that he misses extended time. Is that better for the team?

This is just me guessing but it seems like Marv is trying to play some sort of weird head games with opponents. He seemed to insinuate there was a chance Green would play this past weekend and I think Green was actually listed as questionable.

Rotoworld:

Sources tell NFL Network that A.J. Green (toe) has a shot to return for Week 8.

Green got a positive prognosis during his Friday visit with noted foot specialist Dr. Robert Anderson. He also did some on-field work prior to Sunday's game at Indy, obviously a good sign. It doesn't look like owners will have to wait too much longer to get their No. 1 wideout back in lineups.

This offense looks pathetic without Green.

They sucked today, most likely with or without Green. In their other two games without Green they scored 24 and 37 points. Their 2nd and 3rd worst offensive games of the year both came in games Green played. Before today's game they were averaging 31 points without Green and 24 points with him. Even with today's shutout they're averaging 21 without Green.

Obviously it hurts the offense, but let's not pretend like their offense was going to not be a disaster today if Green were in there.

Car and Atl are 2 of the worst defenses in the NFL. Also, Green played vs. Atl. Let's not pretend bearing them is anything special.

Rotoworld:

FOX's Joe Danneman overheard A.J. Green (toe) tell a teammate he's going to play in Week 8.

Obviously, this isn't a true "report" or anything official from the medical staff. But we know Green got a good prognosis after meeting with noted specialist Dr. Robert Anderson on Friday and did on-field work prior to the game Sunday. Green appears has a very good chance to gain clearance for Week 8.

Rotoworld:

Speaking Monday, Bengals coach Marvin Lewis said A.J. Green (toe) has made "tremendous progress."
Commenting on Green's Week 8 status, Lewis offered a vague "(look) forward to seeing how he progresses this week." Green supposedly told a teammate following Sunday's ugly loss that he plans to return for Week 8, but it's going to depend on how he feels in practice. His status cannot be taken for granted.

if he practices at all wednesday i think its a good bet he plays sunday. I dont know if I could start him if misses wed or thursday and goes limited friday...

Rotoworld:

Speaking Tuesday morning, A.J. Green (toe) said his Week 8 status is "still up in the air."

On Sunday, Green was overheard telling a teammate he's going to play in Week 8. On Monday, coach Marvin Lewis said the star receiver has made tremendous strides. But Green still needs to get through a full week of practice and figure out how to manage pain. "It's probably not gonna be 100 percent, but I hope it's just manageable," Green said. "I can get through the season and be fine and still play at a high level." We'll consider him day to day for now.

Is Green a buy low or is it a valid concern that this may negatively affect his performance for the rest of the season?

I just got offered Green and Colston for Lamar Miller. Lamar is a flex. Seems too good to be true. What an I missing?
Take it and run. The only thing I can think of is green's injury is scaring him or he is a huge Miami fan and just needs to own Miller.

You are taking a calculated risk. Toe injuries have been known to limit the effectiveness of many players. So, if he is just suiting up to be a decoy, what do you gain here. Miller is just a flex now, but I would only make the move if you are set at rb otherwise, or get another serviceable rb from him in case of emergency.

Please practice today!!!

Nope, he did not practice today.
I guess I'd actually rather him sit until it's healed completely and be ready for a FF playoff run than keep on rushing back and re-injuring it.

I am hurting this week though b/c I've go thim and Wayne, and both will likely miss the week.

Rotoworld:

A.J. Green (toe) remained sidelined at Friday's practice.

That's another clean sweep of DNPs for Green, which will likely rule him out for Week 8 against the Ravens. Green has strictly been doing conditioning drills on a side field all week. After last week's debacle against the Colts that saw three-and-out after three-and-out for the offense, the Bengals better figure out how to run the ball against Baltimore. Mo Sanu will dominate targets in the pass game.

Rotoworld:

Despite listing him as doubtful on the injury report, Bengals coach Marvin Lewis said A.J. Green (toe) looked to be in "football form" off to the side of Friday's practice.

Green didn't actually participate, but the Bengals are ostensibly pleased with his progress. Per beat reporter Coley Harvey, Lewis "sounded a little optimistic" about Green "possibly giving it a shot Sunday." That's hard to believe considering his doubtful tag, but stranger things have happened. The Bengals are absolutely desperate for playmakers in their injury-riddled offense.

You can't trade for Green. Despite being crippled, people can't part with that name fairly.

In reality, he is a great player who happens to be injured and has a legit chance of being far less than 100% for the rest of the season on a team that suddenly people have figured out. The one great thing the Bengals had going for them was that D last year but they are getting pushed around right now because they have nothing going on at Lb with the injuries and their secondary is showing significant issues with dealing with speed guys.

Anyway, making a deal for Green is unlikely because of the name value. Lots of teams are going to go down with the ship holding on to him this year. Huge investment, little return.

The Cincinnati Enquirer expects A.J. Green's turf-toe injury to hinder him for the rest of the season.

Listed as doubtful for Week 8, Green is not expected to play against the Ravens. "Green likely won't be 100 percent at any point during the year," wrote beat reporter Paul Dehner, who suggests Green's going-forward availability will come down to a pain-management issue. Coach Marvin Lewis' positive comments on Friday do bode well for Green's chances of returning in Week 9.

in redraft std scoring i just traded away aj and golden tate to get calvin... and getting the calvin owner to agree to that was pulling teeth.

@AlbertBreer: Bengals expecting to go w/o AJ Green vs. Ravens. I'm told issue is ligament damage under his big toe. It's lingering, so they'll be careful.

At this point, I'd rather them sit him this week & let it that toe heal even more. Taking him in 2nd and ADP in the 1st has really bit me in the ### (2-5) but I've made some wise WW pickups and I think I can win without him this week.

Getting some production from my 15th overall pick is going to be neccessary though if I'm going to make a run the 2nd half of the year

A.J. Green (toe) returned to practice Wednesday.
It's Green's first Wednesday practice in about a month. He's going to try and play this week against the Jaguars. Green says if he plays, he's not going to be on a snap count. Hopefully he'll be able to avoid setbacks throughout the practice week. Owners need to sit tight. We'll provide constant updates. Oct 29 - 1:08 PM

(11 mins ago) Bengals wideout A.J. Green "looked pretty crisp running routes" Wednesday, reports the Cincinnati Enquirer. Green has missed the last three games with a toe injury and is trying to return for Sunday's contest against the Jaguars.

The paper cautioned that its practice report was based on "the little bit we saw."

If Green plays, he'll be in my lineup. The question will be though, do I start Sanu with him along with Wallace? Gotta be a better option than V-Jax or Decker.
