WR Antonio Brown, FA (3 Viewers)

I think the current mindset of society - has a totally different aspect of the AB situation.

all of the players you mentioned? Didn’t  continue to dig their own graves VIA social media.

AB has done that.

I think he’s done as an NFL player.
You make an excellent point about social media & Brown’s self immolation.

That said, if the NFL investigation clears Brown, I could see him playing football again.

If not, he’s probably done.

and all that said, I still find it a little suspicious that the Pats & Nike both dropped him *before^ the NFL finished investigating. That’s a little weird.

I'm talking about fantasy owners :) ....and I certainly don't wish that on anyone for crying out loud.  How in the hell did you discern that I wished that?
You’re right. I apologize for that. Just don’t like seeing it brought up. I’ve known too many folks, especially in my time in AA, who have gone this route.

this idiot should've gone to buffalo and shut his mouth.

i still firmly believe the only reason he is in this mess is because he proved his toxicity to the world dealing w the raiders, which gave his accusers the confidence they needed to move forward (ppl would be much liklier to believe them)

And again... Not calling his a rapist until he is proven to be one

How long before he hits the waiver wire in dynasty leagues?  I'll say at least 2 years unless he goes to prison or something like that.

33-34 yrs old by then.. outta football for a while.

No way he makes that stretch without another meltdown... maybe several.

as it stands there are 2 offers for brown in our dynasty league.

A 2020 3rd (from me) and Kevin white
At this point he is a hold (see Josh Gordon).  No sense selling him for peanuts.  I'd rather drop him when the time is right.  I own him in 2 of 8 dynasty leagues.

Just for the giggles, I hope AB goes into the Hall of Fame as a Raider
Once a Raider, always a Raider.

Knock on wood if you're with me.

If this is the end of Brown's NFL career, he ain't making the Hall of Fame.  Not after all of this nonsense.
It may take a bit longer (see TO) but he'll eventually get in (unless he's found guilty of some of these recent accusations).

honestly if he accepts my 3rd if probably tell him i was kidding.

but ya if you own him u gotta hold

What do you mean tell him "I was kidding"?  You shouldn't do that.
we're a group of 12 dudes that grew up together. We're trash talking in our group chat. he thought he was in the clear and offered ab + a 2020 2nd for obj. This is my counter today. He knows.

You know your league.  As a rule I never would do that.

Ian reporting he hasn’t like Anarchy is saying and if that language is correct in his contract he won’t see a dime of that bonus.

Tex
I don't see how, they signed him.. he played a game with them.  And he still hasn't been charged with anything.

Sorry, they owe him 9 mil

Maybe, but if Brown never plays again, he won't have the numbers.  He is currently 28th all-time in receptions, 34th all-time in receiving yards and 34th all-time in receiving touchdowns (and would likely drop on all of those by the time he'd be eligible for the Hall).   Owens was still top 5 in all three (and I think still is).

Theoretical question: since Brown had 4 catches including a touchdown in game 2: if the Pats go on to win a Super Bowl this season, is he entitled to a ring?
I doubt if he gets a ring, but that back shoulder TD catch was a thing of football beauty, coming after only 3 days of practice. His last TD catch might be from Brady.

He was in multiple pro bowls, but is only 34th in career yards. Most yards during his tenure. If he never plays again, he won't get in the first year of eligibility. Some voters would consider his alleged behavior.

ESPN Boston reports Antonio Brown is unlikely to get any of his $9 million signing bonus from the Patriots.

The Patriots plan to use the "representation warranty clause" to void Brown's signing bonus. Brown didn't disclose he was dealing with an off-field situation before signing with New England, which they view as a breach of contract. The NFLPA could file a grievance, but it sounds like Brown may only end up with his $1 million salary, two game checks ($125K), and a $33,333 roster bonus. Since Brown was released after June 1, any money the Patriots owe can be spread out over the next two years.

He was to report any outside issues that would hinder him playing or he forfeits the bonus. Well he didn’t report this issue soooo. The language is in the contract he signed.

So it appears that Antonio Brown went through a great deal or work, trouble and expense to deprive himself of $30 million and the rest of his career. Pretty amazing really.

Think there's any chance he makes restitution to any of these people  IF so would you personally be okay with a team deciding to sign him?   It's a long list I believe $700 picture $1000 mural?  32K catering  10K Doctor   (I'd estimate maybe 4M for the alleged rape victim)

I understand it would probably take a court of law to get any repayment more than likely   But the man has said things like "It's not about the money"   I also figure that some including his agent may figure the man owes nobody and should be allowed to play (work) in the league period

NFL released a statement and basically said if a team signs him, he's going on the exempt list.

You know... Without explicitly saying it.

Read here
The optics there are bad.  The NFL did nothing about it when he was on the Patriots, but now they are basically telling all of the other teams that if they sign him, they will probably put him on the exempt list.

if ab signs w another team, kaep legit has to file a lawsuit
They both need to go away, and their respective threads should be locked.

That way it won't clutter up the front page of the Shark Pool where we discuss actual fantasy football players.

well, to be fair... Maybe the league gave their fave franchise a little heads up today.

I wouldnt rule it out for a second

If the league found the text story to the second woman the straw that broke the camel’s back, NE cut AB less than 24 hours after the report surfaced. We don’t really know what the league would have done if he had stayed a Patriot. They may have let him play this week and excerpted him next week.

Apples to oranges.  Kaep isnt nearly the talent that AB is.  And also, Kaep is much more polarizing in the locker room.....Lincoln Kennedy said today on the Brian Noe show that AB was well liked by the guys in Oakland.....and we know he outworks everyone.

That said, AB is a monumental POS, but he's a generational talent POS.....at this point, the public outcry would be such that no team will likely sign him.

I honestly hope Kaep gets his shot, so when he likely fails, he can go away...

I just called the Pats and let them know. While not happy, they know what KellysHeroes says goes, and they respect your decision.
