WR Antonio Brown, FA (2 Viewers)

When it rains it pours. One of my teams is devestated with injuries. If him and Julio can't go I'm starting two empty slots this week. Unless I drop Julio or golladay.

Diggs, Thielen and Mike William's on bye so I needed him to play.  Plus have Pittsburgh on bye and dont want to drop them as their are no better options.  Think I might just tank this week.

Yeah, this week is ugly for me. We have 8 bench spots. I have 9 spots that are either on bye or already designated as being Out due to injury this week. Taking the zero at defense (Buffalo) and rolling with my only options at every other slot.

It's like this all over the place and in so many leagues I can't keep count.

Probably my worst of the group is a league I got Najee, Robinson, Hunt as 3 of my normal 4 starting RB options that I actually like and my entire WR group is AB, Cooper, Claypool, Toney, Julio,  and Michael Thomas .

So I realized heading into last weeks game I had a massive amount of players off this week but also realized I could  still put a good lineup together and I was also facing the worst team in the league(due to injuries of their own) and did not think I'd need a whole lot. Then I lost Hunt, AB, Toney and maybe Julio again all in one week.

I went from benching Cooper, Toney and Julio last week to picking up Danny freaking Amendola off waivers using the roster spot I opened putting Hunt on IR and if Julio does not go he'll be my only WR(2 start minimum)

One last thing on AB. Those who own him appreciate the points that warrior gave you last week because he hurt that ankle fairly early in the game last week and a lot of players would have called it a day.

No reason to bring Brown, or Gronk for that matter, back this week with a week 9 bye.
Unless they are healthy this is true but when I see AB leaning on a crutch it makes me not sure he's just coming out of the bye week good to go either.

Gronk was back at practice today in full pads. Does not mean he's playing but seems to be possible.

Arians said today he thinks Brown may have a long term injury.

What I was afraid of but I would like to add something to the long term injury comment. This might just be semantics to some but to me it's a bit of a difference.

Arians was apparently asked if AB would be back week 10 and he replied it might be longer then that. To me that is a little more encouraging then Arians saying AB might have a long term injury. Again might be semantics to someone but maybe longer then week 10 sounds better to me then long term.

We did just see Gronk miss 4 games and not go on IR but he's apparently going to return this week so they were off by a week. So not putting AB on IR certainly does not mean they think he'll return in by at least week 11 but it's still encouraging to think he's got a shot.

Just hoping here longterm does not keep him out much past the bye.

Also this is another example of why you can't predict injuries. One of the reasons I loaded up on AB this year was that I considered his durability level A+. Stuff happens.

It's a huge difference and thanks for clarifying what Arians said.

Antonio Brown (ankle) did not participate in practice on Thursday.

No surprise after Bruce Arians noted that it may be a long-term absence on Wednesday. Brown is unlikely to suit up this week and probably shouldn't be regarded as likely to suit up in Week 9 either. Tyler Johnson logged 67% of the snaps and two targets last week and is the direct backup.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Antonio Brown (ankle) is expected to return in Week 10 against Washington.

Brown is out for Week 8 and the Bucs are on bye next week. The extra week of rest should give him enough time to get back to full strength. He suffered the injury in his Week 6 game and has been out ever since. Bucs coach Bruce Arians noted that Brown's injury could be a long-term issue but the team opting to keep him off injured reserve suggests that Week 10 is indeed a likely return date. Brown is averaging 83.6 yards per game and has four scores across five contests. Once healthy, he should resume posting WR2 numbers.

Antonio Brown (ankle) is still in a walking boot.

Brown has missed the Bucs' past two games and doesn't have a great shot to suit up in Week 10 against the Football Team. Chris Godwin has seen a hefty 29 percent target share during Brown's absence. Mike Evans, meanwhile, has commanded an 18 percent target share. Both Tampa receivers are high-end WR2s for as long as Brown is sidelined. Tyler Johnson is a last-resort flex option if Brown is out against Washington.

Has there ever been clarity on what the injury is specifically?

At minimum, it has to be a high ankle sprain. It's been a few weeks now and if he's in a boot today he aint playing again.

With TB's depth at WR, it makes sense to sit Brown until he's 100%. If he's still in a boot, he may be a couple weeks away still. They do get Scottie Miller back this week, and Tyler Johnson has been a decent fill in.

Complete shot in the dark and any no means am I reporting anything, but I think week 12 at Indy is likely when he returns. They likely won't be pushing him for Washington or the Giants.

Antonio Brown (ankle) missed practice on Wednesday but shed his walking boot.

Brown still looks like a long shot to play in Week 10, but at least he was not in a walking boot Wednesday. If Brown can get in a limited practice this week, we could see him as a game-time decision for Sunday. He is more likely targeting a Week 11 return. If Brown misses, Mike Evans and Chris Godwin are both high-end WR2s in a juicy matchup with Washington.

Bone spur in his ankle is the official word from Arians, is currently doing walking exercises, and seeing how he responds from that.

Speculation on my part, but that doesn't sound like he's close to playing.

Antonio Brown (ankle) did not practice on Thursday.

Brown seems to be taking steps towards playing; he shed his walking boot on Wednesday and worked on the side today according to beat reporters. It is hard to imagine him playing off of this start to the week, but it shouldn't be entirely ruled out. Keep an eye on the Friday injury reports. Week 11 against the Giants, however, looks increasingly likely at this point.

Debating between him and Bateman ... sucks I have only a couple hours to do so

I have both and I'm starting Bateman with confidence and excitement for this evening.

He has a heel spur. Thats a season long injury that wont go away without surgery. Not saying he wont play but hes going to be managing this all year.

Yes it's a pain management question. The good thing is, bone spur pain can go away completely IF given enough rest.

Antonio Brown (ankle) is out for Week 10.

Brown never had a shot to play this week. Tyler Johnson is expected to sub in as the Bucs' primary slot receiver if Chris Godwin (foot) is sidelined. Godwin is considered a game-time decision against Washington. Johnson would be an interesting WR3 option if Godwin doesn't go.

Any idea if Brown will play in week 11?

I don't think Arian's provided and update today and I believe since they play on Monday night the typical key Wednesday injury report we likely won't get until Thursday.

At this point I would be pleasantly surprised if he plays and have all but assumed he's not.  Late last week it looked like he got out of his boot but was walking gingerly. Did not look like he could run and I think we'll go to need to see that for a period of time before he can take the field.

Personally I'm looking at week 12 as being more of a reasonable expectation.

Almost no chance he plays this week.

If it's true that his main problem now is bone spurs, then it's still wait and see. The inflammation can go away at any time with rest, there's no firm timetable. It comes down to pain management.

They probably think they can without him, but they might have thought the same thing against WFT.
