WR Brandon Aiyuk, SF (1 Viewer)

The injury sucks for both Aiyuk and SF. The timing is even worse, not that there is ever a good time for an injury but it seems so many things have gone wrong.

Aiyuk is still a fantastic receiver and would have been paid whether it was SF or not. SF is better when Aiyuk is playing. He does everything SF asks, including blocking very well.

The SF offense hasn't been hitting on full with CMC out, Deebo in an out as well as Aiyuk holding out and obviously now injured.

Not much else to say here other than Aiyuk is a very very good WR and he's a great fit for this offense. I still think it was the right thing to do to re-sign him and no one can predict a significant knee injury like this. He's only 26 and will be back.

There needs to be a middle ground because now the team is screwed paying for a player they don't have for a year.

I think there should be built-in injury clauses in contracts. A player gets their entire salary as long as they're healthy, but if they get injured, their pay gets adjusted for time missed. If a player makes $20 mil/yr and gets a season ending injury week 8, he gets half his salary for that season. Miss 4 games? You lose 4 games of pay.

I know that'll never happen, but I think something needs to be done to make it fair for both sides.
Nah, but the organization should get some sort of salary cap relief

What is his current value in dynasty right now? I might go do some shopping. If he's healthy and playing he's worth a first but that seems steep right now with lots of questions still.

Second isn't enough.... hmm maybe an early second and a rookie flyer?

His value will be in the recovery as reports like this come out, but still depreciated. I am trying to package him for a RB right now, so we be curious if anyone has seen any recent trades. I agree about the pick values you mentioned, 1st is too much and a 2nd is too little.

KTC now has a trade "database" - FWIW these are what comes up:

Ayiuk for a (each line is a separate trade):

2026 second
Godwin
Jayden Reed
Matthew Golden + a 2027 second
Downs
Mike Evans
Shakir and a 2026 second
2025 - 2.03

The only 2 I would even take a second to think about are Golden and Downs. I love Godwin, but there us an age gap between these 2.

might not be helpful to you, but I was offered Aiyuk and Wan'Dale Robinson for Evan Engram in a dynasty league I just joined. 0.5 ppr/0.5 pp1st. start 3 wr, 1te, 2 flex (incl rb).

Aiyuk has an relatively high salary (5th-6th highest WR going into next season). Even considering that, I think this offer is a massive overpay for Engram.

He has two things working against him in the value department. 1) Recovering from injury. 2) After he got on the field after he held out he was not productive..at all. If you do not hold him it is probably worth sniffing around, if you do you are probably stuck unless you are selling at a great discount. I am in the stuck category.

Stuck category as well I suppose, but I am okay with it. I offered him for the 1.09 and was turned down, but not immediately. I am still a believer in the talent. I just saw an opportunity to get a little draft capital, and he’s like my WR5 or 6 on that team.

I think the WR out of the group that Aiyuk is closest to in age is actually Godwin.

Same exact position, Aiyuk is my 6 (very strong 1-5). I would like to turn him into a running back but do not know what a fair swap would be. Not trying to turn this into my issues, just sharing my situation and trying to see if anyone else has had any experience in trading him.

The injury one is the biggest concern for sure. It might take him most of the year to get back to 100%. He will be back "soon" but still might not be 100%. I'm debating to buy now or if his first game or 2 don't go so hot maybe that is a buy window.

I'm not too worried about his slow start after his holdout. He missed a lot of time and he didn't look up to speed yet with the offense. Same thing could happen though coming off injury - how long will it take...

Matt Maiocco (via the Rich Eisen Show) on Brandon Aiyuk:

“He’s making really good progress. Even above and beyond where they expected him to be. He looks very good. The 49ers are very impressed and optimistic about where he is.”

Matt believes the team will pump the breaks on the idea of BA playing in week 1 and have him start the season on PUP but he also said that if he were a betting man, he would pick week 6 at Tampa Bay as the game BA will make his season debut.
