WR Brian Thomas Jr., JAX (1 Viewer)

With C. Kupp down, I really need this guy to grow up fast.

And also need T. Lawrence to get his head out of his **s.
Who would you play between him and Nailor?
If you need floor play Nailor. If you need ceiling play Thomas
I don't know about you, but I need both a floor and ceiling where I live. It's cold here in Minnesota.
I am in California right on the coast so depending on the time of year sometimes I only need one or the other.

I don't think either will help you in those mud slides or earthquakes. Or how do you afford both a floor and ceiling with those taxes? But yes, I chose to live in the freaking north pole because of my job many years ago. Last winter was mild for MN however.

Off topic - The Holy Trinity of keeping the worst folks outta here bolded (not that you are one of those!)

Brian Thomas is gonna be a top 15 WR next year in Dynasty. I'm really feeling this one.

Kupp went down, starting BTJ alongside Adams over Shakir and QJ
Could you post the rest of your starting lineup?

.5ppr / 1ppr TE

QB Dak
WR D. Adams
WR BTJr
RB Javonte williams
RB C Steele
TE Andrews
Flex Kincaid
OP Aaron Rodgers

Bench:
Kupp
Shakir
Tank Bigsby
Kareem Hunt
QJ
I. likely
Geno Smith

IR CMC

Currently 0-2 lost week 1 by 4 points with CMC goose egg and lost this week by 2 points with Tank Bigsby getting 0. Really hoping Steele can get me 10-15 points a week for next few weeks till CMC is back.

Lost Jordan Mason Faab bid ($78 when someone else went $100 and avg bid was like $20)

Im playing both this week. :oldunsure:
Starting TLaw & BTJr with confidence….
Lost JLove so little choice currently
Yea I started BTJ last week and think he'll be in my lineup going forward but starting Nailor too just shows where my roster is at health wise.

I don’t trust Lawrence to get him the ball with any regularity. Same thing that happened with Ridley last year. Incredible talent that will be held back by below average qb play. He’s a flex for me right now and one that I hope gets me 12ish points in full PPR.

He’s their best deep weapon. 4 targets each of the 1st 2 games, for 15+ & 11+ points. Seems like a safe floor.

Fun fact: Lawrence has 10 completions over 15 yards this year, ranking 1st among all NFL QB to date.

Agree he has a safe floor. For a flex.

The throw and anticipation on his week 1 td was nasty. I’m sure he will have his down weeks but he feels like a good stylistic match for Trevor; even if you’re lukewarm on the latter overall

This guy almost certainly ends this week as a top-12 wr through 5 games (he was 15 after last week in half ppr) and is trending up. Great deep threat and in the RZ. Lawrence appears to be mid but in a way that fits his skill set well; Lawrence has also missed him for easy td’s at least twice.

It’s a matter of time before he has a 2-td blowup. I think he’s jumped odunze for me. Nabers is a tier above obviously; I’d prob flip him for mhj if offered to me but wouldn’t pay anything of note to do so. Think we’ve got a stud on our hands here.

ETA: lot of drafts he went after all of worthy, Coleman and mcconkey. I got this guy at 11 in a half ppr. Wild

Am I still the only one that thinks he is the second coming of prime Josh Gordon (the on field version)?
Uh no way
But that's not a knock on Thomas

Gordon was a unique athlete, there's no other way to define it

If you built a superstar WR in Madden it’d be Gordon
Size

Speed

Strong Hands

Elite Separation

He was a complete package

But then drop the bar down to a 10 on the awareness

I think Gordon is bigger than Thomas, as you say

Speed

Strong Hands

Elite Separation

I'm not sure who is faster, but Thomas seems to have the last two qualities in abundance. Gordon was never considered a route-runner's route-runner, although I wouldn't be able to personally assess it. Just talking about reputation. Thomas's reputation for that is growing weekly.

We will see.

But it's a cool comparison. They're similar if you squint hard enough (please please please lay off the gak, young man).

If playerprofiler is to be believed Thomas is significantly faster (but at 20lb lighter)

I didn't know Off Field awareness was a thing on there

Thanks for the information. You caused me to look it up. Gordon's is a pro day time that I wouldn't trust as far as I can throw it. 4.57 guys do not do what he did to the Patriots on that slant.

They just don't move like that. He's a 4.4 guy. There's no doubt in my head. (I might be wrong and it's not scientific, but I won't let facts get in the way of folklore.)

But thanks. They're both 6'3". Thomas is twenty or so pounds lighter, so there's that, but I think that's to Thomas's advantage, believe it or not.

Also of note, after his 2013 Golden Season of 87/1,690/9TD
He played 5 games the next season and then missed all of 2015 and 2016 due to drugs and alcohol
He played 5 games in 2017
I'm just noting that from 2014 thru 2017, a span of 4 seasons in his prime he largely was suspended

We talk about DeShaun Watson being away from the game 15-18 months for his off field proclivities and yet Gordon largely missed an entire 4 years and would miss more time as well
Gordon got even bigger in his time away from football and he lost a lot of speed when he returned, he definitely was not running a 4.3 flat like before

He’s what DJ chark shoulda been. A faster AJ Green.

Long strider, tall, physical, contested catch and can out run you. It’s a pretty nice combo

Expectations are very low for a bust of a game at Chicago next week but the over under is sneaky. 45 pts for these two “bad” offenses? Someone knows something.

Oh it’s in London- that may be why

Yeah, I think Jr is a better fit than Ridley was for their offense. Or at least for that role.
Agreed.

They believe someone has to be threatening deep for their offense to work.

Bye weeks I can't sit him. With Kupp still out, he's my best WR. With that said, I'm not expecting a blow up game. Just hoping for a decent floor. 5-80 and maybe a TD would be nice.

He’s wr7 overall through 5 weeks. May post a dud here and there but I don’t think I’m sitting him regardless of matchups barring an absolute embarrassment of riches

This week will be tough. Chicago D is 6th against WR in FF this year. Plus London games are always weird. Brisker may be out for Chi which would help Jax though.
