WR Cedric Tillman, CLE (2 Viewers)

This guy was dropped in my start 3WR league. Is it worth dropping MVS, NWI, Vele or Thielen for? His ROS schedule is worse than all of those players. I could also drop Braelon for him. He’s not even going to play this week I feel like, but I don’t want to not pick up a potential team’s WR1.

What are the latest thoughts on Tillman as we head into the fantasy playoffs?

He had that brief hot stretch, but since then beyond getting hurt, Jeudy, Njoku and Moore are gobbling up targets. With Jeudy and Njoku in particularly balling out, even if he returns, do we think there is any room left for Tillman to produce anywhere close to where he was?

I'm holding for 1-2 more weeks. Jeudy may start getting a lot more attention after last week, opening up targets for Tillman. Week 16 and 17 look juicy with potential shootouts (CIN and MIA)

If he gets cleared and plays, I'm expecting 3-5 targets, for like 60 yards. If he's totally healthy, I could see him going even higher.

I think 3-5 targets is reasonable expectation, with the potential for more. It's unreasonable though to expect those 8-12 targets from weeks 7-11 with all the mouths to feed, unless Jameis continues to air it out 40+ times a game each week.

Who’s holding and who’s dropping ?
I feel like I lucked out when a manager dropped him last week and I got to put him in my IR spot. I can’t make any moves right now with him still there, but I’m definitely happy I have him. More so after Monday’s game.

I’m holding.

Tillman has had 12-9-11-8-4 targets. The 4 came against the Steelers in a snow storm and he left the game early.

With Jameis throwing the ball all over the field I’ll hold for the potential upside.

While I’ll say 30% chance likely, upside can win the championship if you hit.

I mean what other options do you have?

I'm 100% just worried about his head health. Hate to have him get me a 2.7 if he gets hit hard again. I'm like that with everyone in this situation fwiw. Otherwise he will be a target machine again imo.

He's a hamstring away from a lot of targets, and Jamis is absolutely slinging the rock.

He might not need the hamstring to get a lot of targets.

Why is it so inconceivable Tillman picks up his target share he had pre-injury?

That's fair. I looked into the target data and assumed that Jeudy and Moore's target shares had increased with Tillman out, but they really didn't. They're all seeing about 20% target share. Assuming Winston doesn't lean on Jeudy, Moore, and Njoku to Tillman's detriment, he should be able to get 8-10 targets a game.

I'm thinking drop to roll the dice on someone playing this week then grab again next week.

I was thinking the same thing.

Not a lot of great options on the wire but always a possibility one of these guys hits with Tillman out. But I’ll probably hold Tillman as a wr5 with upside.

For me:
Elijah Moore
Thielen
Valdes-Scantling

I dropped him and my opponent picked him up and is starting him against me…

So I’m sure he will score 30+ or have a Jeudy game 🤣

Bench at your own risk all. It’s been that kind of season for me all year long 🤪

Well he’s guaranteed to score zero this week since he’s out.

Downs is the only WR I was looking at. Vidal, SF next guys up, Corum etc I was considering. Any similar players that you all would try this for?

I like Downs but isn’t he injured too? I’m not sure he’s guaranteed to play next week.

Corum and Vidal are lottery ticket RBs. If you pick up Corum I guess it’s just with the hope Kyren gets hurt.

1st concussions suck, they're always hard to get over and we're seeing this from Tillman right now. No reason to drop the guy as when he comes back, he's going to rejoin the jameis Winston Experience and get 7-8 targets a game as well as be a red zone option again. I have no idea why he was mass dropped (10-12 team leagues?)

Me either. I've happily grabbed him and held since he was dropped.

He has popped up on deep sleeper posts on Twitter, and I'm all about it.

In dynasty league startups, he's WR60. I'll hammer that, all day long

All comes down to QB. If it’s Flacco, he might be something. The others, probably not so much.

Cedric Tillman 2024 #ReceptionPerception Profile is now up on the site 👀

Some highlights:
- Thrived once given true X-receiver alignment
- 70.2% success rate vs. man coverage
- Notable contested catch and "in space" results

Tillman's strong stretch in the middle of the season was always destined to be forgotten because of how we view things.

Had him in multiple leagues last year. A concussion or multiple concussions ended up putting him out for the rest of the year when it should have been a few week absence. Not many people talking about that with him. My worry is he gets another one but at adp i guess worth the risk

Anything new going on here? Still a FA in my big $ league. I think it's the Browns + pending rookie QBs scaring everyone off.

Agreed - I think the QB situation and the emergence of Jeudy last year has most thinking that the offense can't support two pass catchers in that offense (also factoring in Njoku).

Trying not to forget that four game stretch when he was a fantasy darling - he got a concussion right after that stretch and basically missed the rest of the season (coinciding with Jeudy blowing up).. I don't see him balling out like he did then, but the talent is there. Certainly worth a dart throw.

He’s going to be a hit and miss guy but deserves to be rostered, especially with a tasty week 1 matchup. Debating vs Shakir
I have both, and I think Shakir is an easy call. Slot guy for the #1 QB.

I have Tillman everywhere, because I like the scenario. I like the ADP, he has WR1 size and athletic ability. I like the opportunity, because Jeudy is really a #2 at best, and I have no idea who their WR3 is. The concussion last year MAY have lowered his stock to where he's a bargain. Imagine if he had not been injured, and had continued on the rest of the season, getting 8 targets a game, where he would be drafted this summer.

I don't play redraft with short benches, but in those leagues, he's a really nice late pick. With him being 25, and with this competition, we should know by October if he has taken the next step. So when it comes time to cut someone, a guy like Tillman not doing anything through 5 weeks is much worse than a Matthew Golden or a Kyle Williams having a quiet September. Everyone has drafted the rookie, cut him to cover byes, and watched him blow up at end of the season. With a guy like Tillman, if he ain't a big part of the offense by the time bye weeks hit, I feel better about cutting him than a rookie.

We'll see. I dont love the situation in Cleveland but Flacco fed him alot before he got injured. I went back and for between dropping him or Mason Taylor, and chose to drop Taylor. I might regret that, but dont see Taylor doing that much this year either.

Every league is different, but I'm finding him to be largely overlooked in my leagues, all of which consist of pretty astute owners:

Keeper league of 10 teams (19 man rosters) where we keep 8: got him in the 8th round, so effectively the 16th round from a startup standpoint.
Re-draft league of 10 teams (20 man rosters): 19th round
Re-draft league of 10 teams (16 man rosters): 13th round

I think Fannin might be the 3rd target in this offense before too long. He creates so many mismatches - and Kevin S is no dummy.

Beginning to get fed. Love it. Was a believer from coming out of college, missed out on him in dynasty and managed to sneak him in as a throw in when I traded for Amon-Ra mid last season. Flacco clearly likes him
