starting over coutee. bye week for Lockett and juju. heres hoping hes a target hog
Christian Kirk caught 3-of-6 targets for 57 yards in the Cardinals' Week 7 loss to the Broncos.
Both Josh Rosen and OC Mike McCoy seemed to lose track of Kirk for long stretches of time. He still ended up clearing 50 yards for the third-straight game, and fourth in five. Producing ahead of Larry Fitzgerald for most of the season, Kirk's WR4 appeal for Week 8 will be enhanced if the Cardinals fire McCoy, as is looking likely.

I have to assume this was more of a long term comment? Rosen doesn't look "NFL ready" to me.QB play for sure is taken into account. I have much more faith in Rosen than Watson
Rosen on 10/18/18 isn't ready, sure. Rosen has looked much better the other games he has started. He is possibly the most intelligent QB out of this class. His potential is very high. His struggles last night were largely not his own fault.I have to assume this was more of a long term comment? Rosen doesn't look "NFL ready" to me.
Those early timeouts and delay of game issues... what could possibly be going on there? Is McCoy tossing out previously-scripted plays because he doesn't think the offense can execute?
Shocker for me is paying Sam Bradford $15 million guaranteed dollars to stand on the sidelines in street clothes. $5 million more if they allow him to wear a helmet? How does that decision get made.
ARZ a total mess for 2018.
Possibly. I almost got 10 points out of him. Considering byes I'm not too upset about that. Garbage time helped a lot.Well that was a disaster.
Who do you think are WR 1 and 2 on the Cards?I love the optimism... lotta love for WR #3 on a team averaging a little over 150 yds/game passing.
I would have expected more inflated numbers after 45 minutes of garbage time.
Fitz and Chad started... both had more targets... maybe future Kirk is awesome, but ARZ is burning to the ground in 2018.Who do you think are WR 1 and 2 on the Cards?
Kirk is well ahead of Chad Williams and Kirk is quickly becoming the Cards WR1. Because Williams had more targets in one or two games doesn’t mean he’s ahead of Kirk.Fitz and Chad started... both had more targets... maybe future Kirk is awesome, but ARZ is burning to the ground in 2018.
Dynasty Kirk = maybe/yes, redraft Kirk = cutbait
It may not matter.Kirk is well ahead of Chad Williams and Kirk is quickly becoming the Cards WR1. Because Williams had more targets in one or two games doesn’t mean he’s ahead of Kirk.
Do you really think Williams outscores Kirk the rest of this year?
I agree. The team is a dumpster fire.It may not matter.
Cards avg 157 yds/game. What is their #1 WR's share of that... 40%... 30%... less?
I think Fitz needs to be out of the picture before anyone else flourishes at WR on that team.
I don't think Fitzgerald is the problem. He sticks around in the slot and does his job.It may not matter.

Considering the change in OC, I'm not sure we can look at previous snap percentage as an indicator of future snap percentage.Biabreakable said:After 7 games the Cardinals are averaging 52.6 offensive plays per game which is bottom five in the league at this point.
The good news is the Cardinals had 66 offensive plays in a losing effort against the Broncos, who do have a good defense, especially against the pass and they had 58 offensive plays against the Vikings the week before, another good defense.
So if this trend continues, the opportunities for Cardinals players may be increasing towards average now, with the main difference being Josh Rosen can actually make some plays.
He is a rookie of course and making rookie mistakes. The throw to Chad Williams is one that comes to mind. He threw the ball too far to the outside. Now this is the smart thing to do, but in that situation a more experienced QB will give the receiver a better chance to catch the ball, even with some additional risk of turnover. It was on the last drive of the half. There are tons of little things like this that Rosen will learn from and improve on as he gains experience.
Who starts doesn't matter too much because the Cardinals have been using 3 WR on most of their plays.
Total snaps
Larry Fitzgerald 333 (87%)
Chad Williams 303 (79%)
Christian Kirk 283 (74%)
Ricky Seals-Jones 276 (72%)
Over the last two games
Christian Kirk 79.3% and 78.8%
Chad Williams 67.2% and 68.2%
Williams had been getting 80% of the snaps up until the last two games, where it does seem that Kirk has surpassed him in playing time.
Yeah but the new oc is byron leftwhich. This cardinals team is a disaster.Considering the change in OC, I'm not sure we can look at previous snap percentage as an indicator of future snap percentage.
Bruce Ariens apparently thinks highly of Leftwich, FWIW. For the rest of us, he's an unknown entity. Can't be any worse than what we've seen so far. Personally, I'd give the offensive a bump up.Yeah but the new oc is byron leftwhich. This cardinals team is a disaster.
Fair enough.Bruce Ariens apparently thinks highly of Leftwich, FWIW. For the rest of us, he's an unknown entity. Can't be any worse than what we've seen so far. Personally, I'd give the offensive a bump up.
Ah good point. I hadn't considered the OC change. I was more looking at how the offense has performed with Rosen which is the biggest change.Considering the change in OC, I'm not sure we can look at previous snap percentage as an indicator of future snap percentage.
The only way I would watch this team is if Ariana was running it.He has said he’s going to run similar stuff to what Ariana did, especially regarding DJ. My opinion is that this will help Kirk. It can’t get any worse, and if the offense can stay on the field a bit more, everyone’s chances will increase.
Grande? Not sure NFL play-calling is her bagThe only way I would watch this team is if Ariana was running it.
Just stand on the sidelines doing nothing would be fine.Grande? Not sure NFL play-calling is her bag
Cardinals placed WR Christian Kirk on injured reserve with a broken foot, ending his season.
It's a brutal loss for a dispiriting Cardinals team, as rookie Kirk has been their most consistent playmaker. His absence for the season's final four games is going to make life even more difficult for struggling first-year signal caller Josh Rosen. Going forward, foot injuries are some of the most prone to setbacks, so hopefully Kirk's break is not a complex one. As it is, he should be ready well ahead of next summer's training camp. Kirk closes the book on his first NFL campaign with 43 catches for 590 yards and three touchdowns. He is an exciting hold in Dynasty leagues
Christian Kirk (foot) expects to be fully healthy next month.
Kirk has been ahead of schedule in his rehab after breaking his foot in December. This puts him on track to be ready for OTAs. Coming off a strong rookie season, Kirk has potential for a second-year breakout if Josh Rosen takes a step forward under a new coaching staff.

The Arizona Republic's Bob McManaman writes Christian Kirk (foot) is "nearly 100 percent recovered."
The receiver broke his foot in December. Kirk previously said he planned to be fully healthy in March, so this report is not a surprise. He should be a full-go or close to it when the Cardinals open OTAs this week.

MMQB's Albert Breer hears Christian Kirk "has been the best receiver on the roster" during the offseason program.
Arizona addressed their depth by selecting three receivers in the draft, but the top of the depth chart was set with Larry Fitzgerald and second-round sophomore Kirk, who looked great last season despite being a rookie in a terrible offense. Fitzgerald has been the clear No. 1 receiver in Arizona since the mid-2000s, but it is possible Kirk supplants the veteran this season. Even if he does not, there will be targets to go around in an offense which should threaten for the league lead in passing attempts.

Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury said Christian Kirk has a "good feel" for the offense.
Kirk has been the Cardinals best receiver during the offseason program. He's fully over his foot issues and has the makings for a second-year breakout in an offense that should be among the most pass heavy in the league. Kirk offers good value at his seventh-round ADP.

WR Christian Kirk confirmed Monday that he'll serve as the Cardinals punt returner this season.
Kirk averaged a steady 7.8 yards per return on 21 opportunities last season. The explosive second-year receiver is expected to work in of the offense's 3-WR sets, but it's unclear how much time he'll spend in the slot. We're expecting Kirk, Larry Fitzgerald and KeeSean Johnson to open the season as starters, although the likes of Andy Isabella, Michael Crabtree and Trent Sherfield could also be involved.
