WR Davante Adams, LAR (7 Viewers)

Any chance Vegas trades him in a few weeks or nah? Also for fantasy purposes, is he a guy to target?
I really hope they do.

The good news is that he’s clearly QB-proof so if they don’t his FF value is relatively safe.

He’d be a nice fit in LAC with Williams season ending injury, but it’s the same division.

Chiefs clearly need an alpha, but again - same division.

A packers reunion could be possible, but they have a nice young corps of WR, so I’m skeptical.

He’d look really good in Honolulu Blue, but would the Lions really bring in a WR? Adams / ARSB would be a nightmare to try to stop.

Patriots need an alpha WR, but they also need a QB to throw to him. I doubt this is a fit.

As a 49ers fan I’d love to see it, but Aiyuk, Deebo, CMC, Kittle. There’s only 1 football. Doubt this one happens either.

No chance the Chargers can take on his contract. They are also in the same division, which you mentioned for the Chiefs.

I think the probability of a trade is extremely low.

I agree - just spitballing on where I think would be a good fit/fill a need

You guys need to review Spotrac dead cap details before you get yourselves all worked up over potential trades. Follow the money trail before anything else. Adams' contract makes him virtually untradeable before June 1, 2024. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/las-vegas-raiders/davante-adams-14463/

If you want to hypothesize over WRs that are likely to be traded this season, look no further than the two starters in Denver...

Didn’t the 9ers eat like $20MIL just to get rid of Lance? Where there is a will, there is a way.

Edit: It was only $8.3MIL, I will show myself out.

No. They did not. Niners took on a net $7.5 MM this season, and $5.5 MM next.

Trading Devante now, would free up ~$5 MM in 2023 Raiders cap (net of dead cap less salary savings), which if unspent, and rolled over to 2024, would still result in a 2024 net dead cap charge of ~$18.5 MM, putting a significant hamper on their cap structure next year. Why would the Raiders do that? For a (late) 2nd round pick from one of the best teams in football? To help one of their division rivals? C'mon, let's get serious here. They aren't trading him AND killing their 2024 cap for anything less than something absurd, like multiple first rounders, and no one is trading anything close to that for a 31 year old.

Davante Adams (shoulder) will be held out of Thursday’s practice.

Adams played through the issue in Week 4 but is understandably still dealing with soreness four days later. He thankfully has an extra day to get ready for Monday’s “revenge game” with the Packers. Just because Adams played through the issue vs. the Chargers is not a guarantee he will suit up Week 5, but he should certainly be considered on the right side of questionable.

He got screwed put of an obvious TD yesterday, or else it would have been an even bigger day. Top 3 WR
Still can’t imagine be why the Raiders didn’t challenge that. Fortunately I won by 30 in the only league I have him. Had I lost because of that I’d be livid.
I was so angry, literally screaming at the TV. Luckily I too won but between that and Brian Robinson fumbling on the 1 inch line it was a frustrating day.
Both of those plays cost me a dub

Of course Monday night game vs former team is this cat going to play ? I hate to waste a roster spot picking up a scrub WR from GB/LV to back him up but how can you sit him unless he is ruled out ? Waivers run at 10 PM and Midnight so hoping to get some better news before then.

I'll give you the better news you wanted.

McDaniels said he's going to practice today.

If they played Sunday he'd have likely sat out practice Wed and Thursday, participated limited on Friday and been good to go on Sunday. Everything is just moved back a day.

Questionable............sigh
There was no way he wasn’t getting the Q tag after two no practices and a limited.

I think he’ll be out there. And I’m hopeful we hear a few more snippets of information before tomorrow kicks off… because I really don’t have a Monday backup option on my roster.

Feel ya. Have him and Aaron Jones going Monday. Could be scrambling on the WW like a MF’er Monday night.

I can't do that in high stakes I have to pick up the guy before 10 PM ET tonight which means I have to cut someone on the 20 man roster. Not a pleasant option when it is a scrub anyway.

Same here. 20 man FFPC dynasty is the only place I roster Adams, so my current plan is: cross my fingers.

Me as well. My roster is really strong. I would have to cut someone pretty good into pick up a player unlikely to score 5 points

Really not sure how to play this. Our last waivers run at 8 AM PST today and I wouldn't even know who to pick up. DeAndre Carter or Tre Tucker or Marquez Callaway or who?

I think it's gonna be a crossed fingers strategy here, too.

ESPN’s Dan Graziano believes the Raiders won’t trade Davante Adams before the NFL’s October 31 trade deadline.

Graziano said the “sense” is that the Raiders will hang on to Adams and try to make a playoff push — an aspirational goal to be sure. Graziano said Adams “hasn’t been happy” since leaving Green Bay and signing with the Raiders. He was perturbed by the team parting with Derek Carr this offseason. Fantasy wise, Jakobi Meyers has eaten into Adams’ once-dominant target share, making Adams a low-end WR1 rather than an elite option.

Been a volatile guy his entire stretch in Oakland-- Just last year in FF playoffs he had like 1 catch in the semifinal and than 10-200-2 in the final (maybe not exactly the numbers) New qb may change that but healthy Adams will always be a top 10 play for another season or two I think??

My fear is them falling out of contention and shutting him down, him shutting himself down. Back to back wins helps

My takeaway from Davante Adams' comments today: He values winning above all else, but knows the #Raiders can't win at the level he wants to without the offense being significantly better. For the offense to be that, he needs to get the ball more. It's fairly simple.

Agreed. If you read the full context of his statements, he very clearly is criticizing the offense continuing to struggle despite the wins, which seems more than fair given this (tremendously overpaid) offense has yet to score 20 or more points in any game this season.

They also won’t throw him the ball before or after the deadline, it seems.
He had 12 targets and a TD go through his hands.

I wouldn’t say the situation is great, but I also wouldn’t agree that they aren’t throwing him the ball.
It was hyperbole to emphasize the point that they’re underutilizing him. And it was a play on words, if you notice how my statement tries to mimic the previous statement by using many of the same words.

It’s what we call in the industry: a joke.

Word on the streets is he's getting the Marcus Allen treatment
Like Father Like Son

🤷‍♂️

WTF is this nonsense? Source or at least throw in some sort of humor or emoji to make it clear you are talking ish.
OLV Raiders Network a few days back, UNFILTERED, you can feel free to Google, when do I whip up complete BS around here?
I don't now that it's true which is why I have the "IDK" emoji underneath

When Marcus Allen was getting the Marcus Allen Treatment, it took years before the public was finally led on to believe the owner had it IN for him.
Chillax, it's out there and maybe nothing to it but people are asking questions...doubtful you are going to read much about it on NFLN or ESPN right now

What does that mean?
It centers around some comments he made about the Raiders previously or a few weeks back and I don't have the quotes but I have some rather large text groups on my phone from al the Redraft leagues I am in and some of them are more chatty than others, we have a few warriors that like to report almost every potential injury and snippet and so I typically press for more info but this came across and that's about all I have after I researched it a little.

Where does Schefter get all his great info?
BTW: If I owned an NFL team I would demand Schefter's phone number (I'm sure he has a couple burners) and I would want a printout of all the numbers dialed by my staff on our phones and if I caught anyone dialing Schefter's number from any desk anywhere and especially after we have a high level meeting, you would be terminated IMMEDIATELY no questions asked
It's strange to me how Adam can break news that teams likely don't want out there and he says it nonchalantly like he just hung up with the GM or the GM's Asst, it's incredible.

Let's reset and I'll ask the question vs trying to certify and separate news with my good friend @LawFitz

-What if the Raiders were to treat Adams like they did Marcus Allen back in the 80s?

I see enough buzz to feel like the question should be asked, would the son of Al Davis do something like this?
When you hear other players that have taken shots at the Raiders in recent years, does it give you pause?

I read a similar article on CBS about a week ago. There was no source, or "proof." It was offered as a "what if this was happening?"

I think it's highly unlikely that this would be happening today, but what do I know? You'd have to have a coach willing to neglect to use his best player (putting his team at risk of losing, and putting his job at stake). You'd also have to have other players being silent about the plan (Jimmy G is going to be told not to throw it to #17 & he's not going to say anything?), and Davis would have to be willing to pay Adams $65M guaranteed while not letting him get targets, to what? "Show him who's boss?"

This is the article. It's from prior to this past weekend's 12 targets (MOP's post was after), and if you read the article, you'd see it's utter speculation from the writer - there is no inside sourcing or anything even remotely close. Just the guy slinging **** at a wall, which the MOP turned into "word on the streets is".

Sourced by CBS, that's pretty credible even if you tear the source apart
Why are we ripping apart sources after you begged for them?
They've been produced, it's been put out there, people can draw their own conclusions
You obviously feel it's all tabloid clickbait nonsense, that's one camp but there is room for others to have a. POV on this, yes/no?
