WR DeVante Parker, Retired (2 Viewers)

Dolphins coach Brian Flores said Devante Parker (questionable, hamstring) will be a game-time decision for Week 2 against Buffalo.

Parker went through individual drills at full speed in Friday's practice. There's hope he can play after tweaking his hamstring last week. Parker isn't going to be 100 percent if he's active. At risk of limited snaps and in a matchup with Tre'Davious White, Parker is an easy Week 2 fade.

Rotoworld:

DeVante Parker (hamstring) is active for Week 2 against the Bills.

No surprises here. Parker was limited throughout the week but will inevitably suit up opposite All-Pro CB Tre'Davious White. Preston Williams remains our pick between the two, and Parker should be avoided unless truly desperate in 14/16-team leagues.

Too many uncertainties with Parker and Sutton for me to play either this week. If they’re both back to 100% and blow up on my bench I’ll be happy knowing I can start them going forward. Rolling with A. Miller instead in a good matchup with Ginn inactive.

Unlikely versus a good Bills defense and top CB, which should be better than last year with Epenesa applying pressure.
Parker (hamstring) secured five of eight targets for 53 yards and a touchdown in the Dolphins' 31-28 loss to the Bills on Sunday.

Spin: Parker not only shed his questionable designation to suit up Sunday, but he made an impact with a two-yard touchdown grab to open the scoring for the Dolphins. The veteran ultimately finished third on the team in both receiving yardage and targets, producing a solid fantasy performance after entering the day as a true 50/50 proposition to take the field. Parker appears to have come out of the contest without setbacks, which is certainly encouraging considering Miami will turn right around to take on the Jaguars in a Week 3 Thursday night road showdown.

Good game considering. Probably as much as you could expect from him.  Might be more confident starting him on Thursday night now.

I expect a high scoring game versus the Jags. 2 bad defenses and QBs that make plays. Parker is a good start.

DeVante Parker (hamstring) was limited in Monday's practice.

Parker has been limited at pretty much every practice to open the season but has played in both games and posted a combined 9-100-1 line against the Patriots and Bills. He should be fine for Thursday night in an easier matchup against the Jaguars.

So knowing my luck, this will be the game he does his hammy on the second play and goes out with zero points.

Just warning everyone. I put Fuller in my lineup this week for him.

DeVante Parker (hamstring) remained "limited" in Tuesday's practice.

Parker seems unlikely to get in a full practice any time soon, but at this point, the "limited" tags are just precautions. Off to a slow start at less than 100 percent health, Parker finally gets an easier Week 3 matchup in the Jags after season-opening dates with the Patriots and Bills. He's in the low-end WR3 mix for Week 3.

After costing myself 16 points by benching him, I'm back on the "he's my ride or die WR3. if he plays, I'm playing him" juice.

This is a golden matchup. I just wish they'd sat him week 1 to let the hammy get right. I do not want to deal with this nonsense all year.

DeVante Parker was removed from the Week 3 injury report and will play against the Jaguars.

Parker was limited in Monday and Tuesday's practices but was upgraded to full Wednesday, getting the green light for Thursday night. Parker is an intriguing play for one-game DFS slates.

So folks feeling pretty good here? Seems like good matchup but most rankings have him pretty far down this week... suppose maybe due to lingering hamstring.

Yes, and his injury history. But he was a top 10 WR after Fitzpatrick took over at QB the last 11 games of 2019. Preston was out the last 8 of those 11 games. I'm starting him with expectations of 80-100 yards and 50% chance of a TD.

3 for 45 ... he looks good on the field. Had a TD chance taken away because of PI.

game script isn’t helping us here though ... we need Minshew to start slinging it - keep the Dolphins in pass mode

He needs to get out of this game without any setbacks.   Need that hammy to heal so he is ready once bye weeks hit.

DeVante Parker caught 5-of-5 targets for 69 yards in the Dolphins' Week 3 win over the Jaguars.

Clearly still not 100 percent healthy, Parker managed five receptions for the second time in five days, this time providing a season-best 69 yards. Now with 10 days to heal up for a matchup with a Seahawks pass defense that has been the league's most vulnerable so far, Parker will finally be in the WR2 mix for Week 4.

About average point total in my league driven by game script, and came out unscathed I think better days are ahead.

Yeah...he was doing well...was hoping for a bigger game to try and move him...think that hamstring will keep lingering and limit his effectiveness.  But...he is really just hanging in there for me til Michael Thomas gets back.

Would have liked to have that TD though...I don't get points for drawing a PI flag in the endzone.  :)

His play last night was big to me.  You could tell he wasn't 100%. That's the kind of game he would have sat out 2 years ago. He toughed it out and was solid.  I feel like maybe he has that hunger and fight in him now that all the best ones have. Now if he can just get past the hammy.

If he gets over the hammy, he will have a great season.   He is getting open even hobbled and Fitz looks his way enough.

Long as he comes out of this game without having aggravated the Injury further.  His 11.9 were ok as a WR3 for me, but if it comes at a cost of his still being limited in week 4, I wish they’d shut him down.

But he is a gamer, and he made some clutch catches. Just wish he’d caught that RZ target for the TD on the quick slant. I realize that’s difficult when a DB is holding your arm down, but still. I’m greedy like that.
;)

He drew a DPI in the end zone, that would have made that stat line something like 6/75/TD...about 19 in PPR, surely a TOP 25 performance or higher and I think for anyone that did not watch the game, I watched it all again today and slowed a lot of things down...he looks GOOD, SMOOTH, love the way the camera had the shot of Fitz after they had made a 4th and 1 in the 2nd Q, it was like an over the shoulder angle where you could barely even see Parker on the outside however he ran a sharp up and IN while the slot kept going and once he turned his hips and once he got inside position even with very little separation he was able to use that 6-3/220 frame of his and shielded him and Fitz throws it as soon as he makes that cut IN and he kinda just lays it out in a window and Parker keeps moving and grabs it and it's just SO SMOOTH!!!

He has some horribly tough match ups ahead before the season really levels out and I hope he can still post decent numbers in more competitive games, even garbage time rack ups.

I am of the opinion that strength of competition will be even better for Parker’s numbers.

the Jags were non-competitive. As such, Parker did almost nothing in the 2nd half. in games that go back and forth where the opponent can score, Parker’s gonna see much more production.

Agreed, they went his way twice in the opening drive of the second half when there was still a modicum of doubt over the outcome of the game, but once they had their boot on the Jags neck they basically just used him for blocking or a decoy, they didn't need him at all.  I saw it as a good sign, though, that he was still out there for nearly every snap.

I was offered Parker for my 20211st in a 12 team Superflex dynasty. That seems like too high of a price to me given his current injury woes and lack of long term success. I am considering countering with my 2nd rd pick. Thoughts?

Let me make sure I understand...you were given a 1st round offer in dynasty and you want to counter with a 2nd round offer?

That's fairly crazy but have at it...

I think you’re a bit jaded, I would only pay a 2nd for Parker
"I was offered Parker for my 2021 1st"

That was too high so I countered with my 2021 2nd...where exactly did I miss the beat? Because I'm pretty good on the skins over the years and especially the big bass drum but tell me what i missed, please.

Oh and Im jaded...for sure 😉

I'm not sure what type of leagues you play in or how you manage your teams, but it is a fairly common practice to negotiate before completing a trade. Sure there are times when the initial offer is so good you take it or so bad, you decline it and don't counter. But, this is not one of those times.

Did i mix words?

Let me be clear old friend so you don't misconstrue.  I got an offer for Mckinnon last week, Zac Ertz straight up before he even played the Giants. Granted its redraft 2020 but I didn't need to ask, I knew it was a good deal for a guy that hasn't played a snap hardly in 3 years.

I stopped playing dynasty, but I wish you well.

    Anybody else have any thoughts?

Where do you project your pick to be?  Because I think Parker is easily worth the 1.09 or later.  But if it's a projected top 5 pick, I'd hang on to it.

Let me help further this along because I am not laying into you, I want to know more. Why would you not take the deal? Why would you take the deal? What is the crux of the ying and yang here for you? I'd like to understand.

He's a solid player and I could offer some insight into my POV once Tua takes over...
