WR Elijah Moore, BUF (2 Viewers)

I feel like he'll probably be fine, especially now that wilson will start to get more attention...
Zach wilson is still the question mark
100%. In my opinion ZW is a huge question mark and I am highly dubious that he makes much of a leap this year. Logically I cannot accept that he will be able to support two fantasy relevant wrs. But like a moth to the proverbial flame, I find myself unable to stay away based on the talent of the two wrs. However, in the last two weeks the flame for me has changed from Moore to Wilson and I am regretting holding Moore into week 2 as I will probably not be able to drop him for Wilson this week.

Buy low or avoid?

Imagine the price has come down with the slow start. He’s actually had decent volume.

I have him and Garrett Wilson in dynasty. I'm personally not willing to sell for much less than he was worth at his peak. Just because, law of averages, he's bound to continue to have success. But I can understand if an owner thinks Wilson is just totally taking over the primary role and is willing to sell Moore at a discount. In other words, yes buy low, if you can find a seller

Agree in dynasty.

Picked him up on the cheap in redraft too. Will stash him for the time being. I think he gets more action when Wilson is back at QB. Somebody actually dropped him in a 5-keeper league, which I would get if he had this amazing WR group, but he kept a bunch of trash over Moore. Just don't get the severe overreactions after just a few weeks.

Still don't understand why the Jets rolled out old man Flacco instead of White. Kid played pretty well last year when he got the chance. Jets aren't winning anything this year, especially with all the OL injuries. Maybe Salah under some pressure already.

Flacco had a very good camp and the staff was very pleased enough to give him the backup job outright. They went into the year with what they thought on paper was a much more competitive roster, so it was more about seeing if Flacco could fall backwards into a win or 2 before Wilson came back, vs. trying to get a better look at Mike White because they think he might be the guy. Plenty of fans wanted to see that as well, and a few media personalities have speculated the Jets "are afraid White is better than Wilson" but I'm not really buying that.

Disappointing start to the year as he has fallen to 5th on the team in targets. Hard to understand with articles of how open he has been. All four of his targets were in the first half (good production 3-53) but not one look in the 2nd half. Not sure why he is not earning more looks but not the start I expected from him.

Jet fan here- I like Elijah and think he will rebound....Wilson looks to him more than Flacco did....however there are a lot of mouths to feed and the decimated OL forces ZW to be on the run a lot and its tough for him to see every WR. May be a good buy low opportunity.

Buy low? Sell low? What are dynasty owners thinking?

He went from option 1a to the 3rd option at best overnight. I'd consider unloading if there are believers.

The WRs had only 6 catches. 3 for Wilson, 2 for Davis and 1 for Moore. Each had 4 targets. Zach needs to get better ... Miami was starting the B team CBs, inckuding Kohou and Needham, of UDFA pedigree.

Makes me feel worse -- had Moore on bench but started Conklin :cautious:

The oline is dead. There's a reason that Hall is 5th and Carter is 11th in targets at the RB position. They seem to only be using Moore as a deep threat and that aspect of the offense just doesn't really exist right now.

Zach needs to get better
Well, sure but he played very well yesterday. Jets have/had a lot of injuries as well so don't care about the Phins' injury excuses.
My comments were intended to evaluate Moore, more than Zach. Last year, his best games came with Flacco and Johnson at QB. I believe in the o-coordinator and weapons, but I'm ready to finally drop Moore.
They use him early and he looks good and then disappears. I’m not sure why.

To be fair, no one has been going off the passing game since Zach returned. They’ve been winning on the running game and defense.

i am still neutral on zack. some of it is him and some is play calling. he makes some nice throws, but then looks bone headed. no picks is nice, but this is a throwing league.

I mentioned this in the Zach thread:

“The coaches are trying to keep it simple for him, but a big part of the reason they’re doing that is he’s facing sustained pressure in the pocket and can’t get comfortable. That and the run game is absolutely dominating.”

Totally agree with you though that some of his throws are way off and risky, but he’s still learning.

Breece balling is going to suck the life out of the passing game. Good for Breece, bad for WR'S. Davis not going away isn't helping either.

i’m not sold on lafleur as a play caller. its obvious they are protecting wilson, but then on 2 short 3rd and 1s they abstain from hall and roll wilson left. i am no expert, but from what i’ve seen, wilson hasn’t thrown well going left. i think moore is no better than a 3-4th option weekly. wilson having a 26-38 350 yard game seems unlikely right now. i see lots of 16-29 210. you can win that way, but will limit wr strength in roto.

Time to Buy Low on Elijah? I mean the Run game can only take them so far... Can the OL give Zach time to hit his reads?

I like buying low on talent in dynasty and think he is a great candidate. Wouldn’t touch in redraft. Defenses will start selling out to stop the run and force Zach to beat them, however he seems like 4th or 5th in the pecking order of where the offense wants to go if passing.

If you consider Garret WR1A, outside & deep, is Elijah the short/intermediate route high volume target when playing catch up Offense? In PPR, this is a valuable role. I just don't know enough about the NYJ. I missed a chance to get Garret Wilson earlier... (package with W Robinson NYG) but I just think NYJ Offense is still a year away from being fantasy relevant ...they are in the right path but I am not sure yet. Maybe I missed the boat...

It has actually been the opposite. Moore has been the downfield outside guy. That's why he's not getting targeted, that part of the offense doesn't exist with Wilson.

Has requested a trade. A little bit trigger happy on that. One game without a target? He had 4 targets minimum in the first 5 games. Granted, maybe he thinks, or knows, that will be the new normal with Wilson?

Very selfish when the team is winning. Plus it’s not like any receivers are being fed - they’re running the ball a ton and slowing down the game for Zach.

Came to say this. Looks like Rapoport says he wants out, and that the Jets have no intentions at all of trading him. Sounds like a squeaky wheel wanting the grease. Start him in all lineups this week.

I mean, his usage has been low this year in general but at least 4+ targets every week except last week and he's not even played a full 17 games yet in his career. I knew something was up this morning based on his and AJ Browns tweets but legit surprised. Even a stone cold diva WR, which I did not think he was, does not usually break this quickly.

Was thinking the same. If you have him, start him.

another 2nd round wr that is rostered that wants a trade. i understand mims, but not this. he plays and may be 3rd in line for targets, but he’s 22 and c davis won’t be around for long. this won’t matter on a losing team, but not sure how this goes over now.

I usually prescribe to the same formula but not this time, IF he plays.

1. Sending the squeaky wheel home does not exactly match up with getting ready to grease him up.

2. LaFluer made a comment this morning that sounded like they were more concerned with getting Wilson rolling. Comment went along the lines of G Wilson was followed by Jaire Alexander last week and they were working on some details and were not far off from getting him "back on track".

3. Even if they try someone is going to get the Surtain curtain pulled over them and that's most likely to Davis or Moore(assuming he plays) then the guy mostly lining up in the slot(Wilson)

ETA-two reliable Jet's beat writers I follow are not guessing he is NOT active this week.

The biggest problem for Elijah Moore is threefold:

1) They Jets plan seems to be moving forward that Zach Wilson will never throw more than 25 times in a game and they will go run-heavy with the Hawkman combo (Carter/Hall). So far it's worked and their D is good enough that they can play this way.
2) They already have one disgruntled highly drafted WR on the roster in Mims who had more of a beef than him and nothing happened.
3) It's not all about the targets, it's about the snaps. Elijah Moore isn't being passed by Garrett Wilson, he's starting to lose snaps to Braxton Berrios (had the running TD on a end-around vs. GB) and Jeff Smith in the offense.

I don't think this is a squeaky wheel situation at all; I think Saleh reduces his snap count even more/Jets make him Inactive this week now.

ESPN's Rich Cimini expects Elijah Moore to be inactive for Week 7 against the Broncos after requesting a trade.

As do fellow beat reporters Zack Rosenblatt and Brian Costello. Per Cimini, Moore's Thursday behavior even before his trade demand "didn't sit well with the Jets." We wouldn't doubt that, but we also wouldn't be so sure the Jets shut down one of their top-three receivers as they chase a winning streak. What is clear is that Moore's WR4 fantasy value won't be recovering any time soon.

Doesn't his role contract go through 2024? Seems odd to request a trade when you haven't done anything also.
This makes it bizarre. Team is winning for the first time in a long time. You played half a season in a rookie year with some modest production. I get being a competitor and wanting to be part of the teams success but he really is not in a good position at this stage to become a distraction and make demands.
