WR Gabriel Davis, BUF (1 Viewer)

Anyone seen him go in the 4th round of your home league?
Yep. Last night he went 4.7 in a 14 teamer. Was hoping to get him at 5.12 so at least I didn't get sniped right before my pick :shades:
Ya it's always better when it's not right before you. 5.12 in 14 teamer would be pick 70 which might have been a bit ambitious.
Yeah, I didn't expect him to be there at 5.12, but couldn't pull the trigger at 4.3 with Mike Williams still on the board.

I played golf in the morning with the guy that grabbed him. Too much FF banter during the round maybe
ya you don't wanna play your cards too much! But I think you made the right call with Williams. Time will tell and Davis certainly could outperform him, but I'd take Williams there for sure.

Never let the FF talk get loose during golf & drinking with someone in your league.

I did that exact thing once and my buddy snaked 2 of my favorite picks.

THAT was an actual lesson I learned the hard way.

What a n00b. You are supposed to hype the players you actually DON'T WANT and see them draft those guys. Its epic.

This was a long time ago when indeed I was a n00b. I thought my friend was helping me. Now I know. :kicksrock:

Any others? This is good info that could help those with their drafts coming up who might have wanted to take him in the 4th round after reading these boards last week.
I mentioned this in HSG's thread about his Saturday draft, but in my draft Saturday (10 team, non ppr, start 1qb, 2rb, 3 wr/te, 1 kicker), I had planned on picking him when it got back to me with the 58th overall pick. My son nabbed him with the 56th pick.

It’s probably not too late to sell him off for scientific experiments. 💡
I just screen shot this and sent it to my son. That's funny stuff. It's actually a fun league. I have been in it for 17 years. Buddy who started it before I knew him, or anything about fantasy football for that matter, has been running it for 28 years. As some of the original guys have dropped out over the years due to work obligations, travel, etc., some of our kids have joined.

It's an interesting league. When it was originally set up, doing every thing online wasn't an option. My buddy set it up where there are quarterly meetings and that is the only time to drop/add, or trade. He has kept it that way so that everyone has to get together once a month and have a couple beers together.

One thing’s for certain: I am thrilled to have Davis in both of my dynasty leagues, and now in my biggest redraft league - and as a WR4 there’s very little risk if he’s a weekly boom or bust.

Though I saw an update today suggesting Buffalo was eager to prove the ridiculous 4 TD playoff game wasn’t a fluke, and that Davis should be more of a 1B to Diggs 1A.

If this turns into a Chase/Higgins type situation, then whatever people pay will feel like an absolute bargain.

On the one hand, that’s kind of a fun twist.
On the other hand, we do have the technology these days. lol
True, but I do like the mandatory meetings. A few of the original guys, I only see at the draft and meetings. It's always a good time. It definitely requires a different draft strategy when you can't just pick someone up off the waiver wire at any time.

Anyways, I just set one of my dynasty team's starting lineup, and hovering over Gabe Davis and checking that box felt pretty, pretty good.
I just set my IDP lineup and my 16 team dynasty lineups.

Putting him in my flex spot in both and clicking submit felt pretty pretty good.

I took him at 5.01 in my 12 team non PPR start two WR league. He’s my WR3. Guy who was at 5.03 said he was gonna take him if I didn’t.

I draft Sunday. If I can have him in the 5th I’ll be absolutely thrilled. I want pieces of that passing game.
You had him in the 5th... and passed... and so did a lot of people after that. But you got him in the 6th where he's usually going so good job :D
3rd time you've quoted this. You gonna do it a 4th, you insane stalker weirdo?
If you think this is something, post something in an Eagles game thread sometime that isn’t totally pro Eagles …

20+ year auction league...

Commanded 50th highest salary overall (equivalent to 4.10 in a 10-team league or 4.2 in a 12-tearmer) and WR17 status. Auctions can be weird though, especially for hyped guys like this. YMMV.

He was taken 4.6 in my long time competitive 12 teamer tonight. (Note we do start 3 WRs)
The guy that picked him is a bit of a Bills homer, but he generally knows whats going on. He must have been high on Davis.

Some notable guys that went after him there in the next few rounds.............

Travis Etienne
Justin Herbert - (its 6pt for passing TDs)
David Montgomery
Josh Jacobs
Jalen Hurts
George Kittle
JuJu Smith Schuster
Dalton Schultz (yours truly)
AJ Dillon

I know my buddy is high on him (and slightly high on Bills in general) but I thought this was a bit much.

5.7 in 11-team league. Pick #51.
Are you really in an 11 team league? Never heard of such a thing
Yeah. 26th year. Mostly college buddies. We're at a point where we care more about accommodating anyone who wants in (or wants back in after living abroad, having kids, etc.) vs. being purists. We even changed to a slow draft this year after many years of live auction. I suspect we'll go back to live, in person, serpentine next year. Oh, and for scheduling, we are doing double-headers and play vs. the average. 3 wins up for grabs each week.

I wanna get him on one of my teams. I have Diggs already and I’m going to be agitated if Allen is only throwing to Gabe week one unless of course I have Gabe.

5.12 in my 14 team league on Saturday.

I took Amon Ra St. Brown a few picks earlier but was a tough choice between the two.
That’s a tough call.

I’m big on ARSB, but the RZ targets and caliber of QB would steer me to Davis there.

This isn’t a Davis honk take - I love both players more than most.

I hope ARSB works out just as much as I do Davis, so I’m rootin for ya here.

WR18 (4.04) over the last 2 days in the FPC, but August ADP will be out tomorrow. WR17 (4.02) in the Main Event over the last 3 days. Don't ask me why one is 2 days and the other 3 but yeah choo choo.

Went 4.09 in Footballguys Players Championship tonight...
Yep, those tournament style drafts he's going much higher than home leagues.

So does that mean he should be going higher in home leagues?
Not really, but maybe. Hype players go very high, and his adp in redraft is still in the late 5/early 6 range. I like him this year around there and have seen him go round 6 in all my leagues.

My local redraft league has a draft tonight using ESPN, and I was more than a little annoyed to see ESPN auto-rank G Davis #49. Basically everyone is going to see him as best available from that point on. So much for capitalizing on value.

2020(Rookie) 11 GS, 599 and 7 TD, good looking 1st year, did have a 55% catch ratio which is sparkling but a healthy 17 ypc.

2021 4 GS but listed as playing 16, was fighting for targets but coming up the ranks. 35 catches again, 549/6TD, almost identical to the year prior.

Playoff game: 8/200/TD-TD-TD-TD...that's right, 4 Touchdowns in 1 Playoff game that was lights out one of the best most intense sensational football games I have ever watched in my life and I know many of you feel the same way.

-Any chance he is being over drafted and the hype from last year's Playoff game, a career level game, has pushed him much higher up drafts boards than he should be?

But the sizzle baby, you can smell it. That's gotta taste good, right?

55-56% catch ratio is not the best and could pose an issue for those who project him into the Top 15-20

I would add to this that his TD in the preseason shows that Allen is going to be looking for him and trusts him.

Can’t always take too much stock in preseason, but that playoff game isn’t the last hype piece we have for this Gabe Dave train.

Went pick 51 in my redraft. Buffalo is the closest pro team though.

Went 64 tonight in my main league. 6.04 in 12 team.

That offense combined with his obvious red zone prowess make him one of the safer picks imo.
I agree. At the end of the year 4th round will seem like value.

I just took him 5.9 in a .5 ppr
One of these is not like the other

One of these is not like the other

So those who have mentioned their home leagues:

@C-Bound took him at pick 78
@VikingFrog took him at 63
@Deamon took him at 66
@Hot Sauce Guy took him at 60 (68 but 8 were IDP)
Icon saw him go 72
Icon saw him go 63
Icon saw him go 75
Gally at 54.

We're starting to see where he's really going now.
And just ignoring these?
I said I read the last page. Those are on page 19
