WR Gabriel Davis, Free Agent (6 Viewers)

Yep same weeks, just sorted by PPG avg for that period of 4 games (PPR) on MFL for my leagues. There were a few guys that missed games due to injuries like Adams, some with Byes with a higher PPG, and we could probably remove a fluke like Peoples-Jones.
Interesting, mine still shows his 19.6 as wr9 on average. Haha doesn't really matter, just weird.

If Davis goes off for 2 TD's Thursday night, combined with the hype here.......... it would cause this thread to go supernova, and immediately make him a 1st rounder next year come draft time.

I don't know anything about this guy, but everyone says he's the man. It's funny how gaga people are getting over this Buffalo Offense when Josh Allen's stats will likely mirror Patrick Mahomes but his skill players aren't getting half the love.

Early Life & Family

On April 1, 1999, Gabriel Davis was born to his mother, Alana Davis, and his father, James Davis.

His mother was still very young when she was pregnant with Gabriel. Sadly, his biological father abandoned him and his mother before he was born.

Gabriel Davis spent his childhood in a suburb of Florida. His mother, Alana, worked multiple jobs as a single parent to raise him and provide him with his basic needs.

Gabriel enrolled in Seminole High School located in Sanford and began playing basketball from a very young age. Gabe’s mother encouraged her son to do what he likes best and taught him to behave well on and off the court.

While he was just about nine years old, he told his mother that he would play in the NFL one day. After fulfilling his childhood dream in 2020, he wrote an emotional letter to his mother recalling his promise.

He considers that his mother is all the reason he has become the man he is today. Moreover, he thinks she is his greatest inspiration.

Speaking more about his family, he is the eldest among three siblings. He has a younger brother, Jordan, and a beautiful young sister, Kayla.

Apparently, he has many NFL fans who have a huge crush on him. So, it is quite obvious that his fans would like to know deep about his personal life.

Fortunately for his female fans, it seems the star athlete is not in any relationship now. Gabriel is a very reserved person and does not like to express much about his private life.

Moreover, he is at the beginning of his professional career, and it is apparent for a novice athlete to do so rather than give much time to affairs.

However, hopefully, he will shed light on his love life in the upcoming years. Once we get an update on it, we will let you know.

I wish I had the last 5 minutes of my life back............................:wall:
I think the most hilarious line from that article is

"Davis has black hair color and black colored eyes when talking about his facial features. Moreover, he has a thick bushy black beard which suits him well."

:lmao:

but his skill players aren't getting half the love
Diggs is going in Round 1/2 and Davis is going as high as Round 4. There's plenty of people hyping McKenzie and Shakar as well. Knox is a TE target for those that wait at TE.

It's likely a 3-way committee at RB so how much of an investment can you make there?

I believe he was stating Mahomes’s skill players aren’t getting half the love.

I suppose it can be interpreted that way - but the reason for that should be so obvious that it wasn't worth mentioning.

Really would love some opinions here. I have a pretty loaded team at WR in one of my PPR dynasty leagues, but I can get G Davis for my 2023 1st. I do believe my 1st will be 1.8-1.12 range most likely, so I think value is there for sure...BUT if my team has any area it needs to improve its at RB. But if I can get a hopefully breakout player like Davis for a later first wouldn't you do that, and just hope to flip another WR for a RB down the road? My WR stable is: AJB, McLaurin, Sutton, Diontae Johnson, Hopkins, MT, Claypool, and Shakir. MY RBs are Chubb, Gibson, Edmonds, Hunt, Robinson, Mason, Foreman, Abdullah, McKissic, Darrel Williams. Clearly not as strong as my WR core.

Haha, I didn't type it out, just saw it online. Figured with the obssession with him, everyone could take some time and get to know who Gabe Davis the person is :P

I mean... because the skill players on buffalo are established and good.

Kelce is still getting his usual love
Juju is getting lots of recent love lately, but this is juju, mvs, skyy moore, ceh, mckinnon, pacheco, etc and no one (even Patrick himself, see yesterdays quote) knows for sure how in the world those targets are going to be distributed.

Question:

If Gabe Davis goes in for a play at QB, launches a deep ball, then runs down the field and catches his own pass in the endzone, does he get the fantasy points for a passing AND receiving TD?
It’s happened before with QBs who throw a pass that gets deflected by a D-lineman back to the QB which is caught and run into the End-zone by the QB who gets credit for a TD pass and a TD reception.

So should we double our projections for Davis?

"Gabe Davis launches a deep pass down the sideline, and Gabe Davis runs under the pass, then laterals it to . . . Gabe Davis, who follows his own block into the endzone." Next, he will be the holder and the kicker . . . on the same play!

FWIW, he went 6.01 in my home league draft. To my brother who also drafted Mahomes at the 3/4 turn. His team is going to be a problem. Cook/Adams, Mahomes/Pitts, Metcalf/Davis, Hunt, Carter. He probably left some WR value at the table at the 7/8 turn taking the GB DST...

Also fwiw, ESPN has Davis projected for 12.3 ppr points. 4/6 for 56 and 0.45 TDs.

my new (to me) Dynasty league on MFL has him at 16.89 ppr points but I don't quite understand the scoring system there yet. It's ppr but everyone's projections look high to me. Might be some bonuses or just a very optimistic set of projections.

Part of the weird thing with home drafts is that the goofball approach of one or two owners trickles down in a way that's hard to be "the only smart" manager to capitalize on.

I'm now wondering if that article was written by an AI because it is all sorts of strange lol

The problem is the wildcards put the pressure on for you to "reach" for your "guys". The typical "this guy goes mid round 7" approach can be blown out of the water when a wild card takes that guy in the 5th. So if you have a true belief in a guy sometimes you also have to go get him to make sure you do in fact get him.

I know there will be the ADP value crowd that will say that is terrible to do because of all the value you lose but sometimes if you really believe in a guy it's worth it to just make sure you get him. For me this year it's A-Rob. I think he outscores Kupp and is a top 5-10 WR this year. I reached for him in almost every draft. I planted my flag and act accordingly. Sometimes you just have to do it. I think that is happening with Mr. Davis a lot.

True but there's a line for everything. Exactly what round you draw that line at is up for debate. I'm sure you didnt take Arob in round 1 anywhere.

Yes and when that happens in a wild card situation you just have to shrug and move on. My point was to explain while wild cards in a draft sometimes can lead to other wildcards and that is why. In a draft you always must figure out the "line". It's just harder in leagues with lots of wild cards.

I took him 4.04 in my Main Event yesterday. I also grabbed Akers, Singletary, Shakir, Skowronek (no, the other one), and both Bass and Lutz. We get to retroactively decide whether to start/sit Rams/Bills players up until kickoff on Sunday. And I have a really good and strong roster where I would normally not start Davis but get the benefit of seeing what happens first.

Curious as to who you selected him over (RB & WR) at ADP?
Waddle, McLaurin, Breece Hall, Juju. I got Metcalf on the way back at 5.09. Took big Mike at 3.09. ETN went a few picks before Davis and Hall was the next RB at 4.10 and Pierce at 5.01, Edmonds 5.02. So it was mostly a question of which WRs did I take him over but many of the ones that went after him are guys I am avoiding (at that ADP). Juju is an exception but I have a ton of him in the big FPC drafts but very little Davis.

So half ppr espn has Gabe scoring about 10pts tonight. You guys think he is going to do better than projections? Im tempted to start him. I have Antonio Gibson in my flex spot right now. Gibson has a pretty good matchup against the Jags though. My other two WR's are Higgins and AJ Brown.

I have him in 3 of 3 possible leagues tonight, 2 dynasty and 1 redraft. My only debate was R Woods or Davis, I am going with Davis.

Luckily the FFPC still has drafts going and we don't need to set our lineups until Sunday, including tonight's players! So he might make it in a few more lineups come Sunday.
