Bills leadership also missed on their assessment of him. They were comfortable with him as WR2 on a team favoured to win the Super Bowl and had no real option behind him.
i don’t think this is at all accurate.
Again: he’s had FF games of 19, 37, 21, 16, 12.4
He missed 1 game and was limited in 2 others with the ankle.
Allen hurt his elbow, and the Bills offense has scored 24, 27, 20, 33 (in OT), 31, 24, 28, 20 since. They’ve run quite a bit more than expected this year, and as I’d mentioned, the defense has been limiting opponents, allowing the Bills to be more balanced than expected.
Suffice to say, I wholly disagree with your assessment. Discounting the 3 games he was hurt/out, 5 of Davis’ 11 games he was at least a FF WR2, with a couple WR1 performances. The valleys have been low, but that doesn’t mean we ignore the peaks.
In RL, Davis is a dynamic playmaker who has helped the Bills win games. More than 1 of his catches in a down FF week has been a big 1st down to help win a game.
Convoluting his FF stats with a players real life talent evaluation / team assessment is kinda weird. The Bills have a 23 year old WR2 who’s a perfect compliment to when Allen goes off script. I assure you they’re very pleased to have him. Reportedly they’re less pleased with McKensie since they just signed Beasley.
Finally, it bears repeating that our resident 20-20 hindsight troll was *not* condescendingly bumping this topic after Davis’ 19, 37, 21 16, or 12 point performances.
Gee, I wonder why?
