Jaylin Noel was an easy day 2 grade on tape. Was the best WR I saw in Mobile. And he's continuing that momentum in Indy. He'll run well too.
Won't be a surprise if he gets into the top-50.

He looks like a running back.
Jacob Gibbs
Jaylin Noel had 1,200 yards in 2024 but easily could have had 1,500+
His film was equal parts fun/frustrating

Jaylin Noel's explosiveness off the line to get vertical is quite impressive.
NFL Draft Files
Jaylin Noel had a monster combine, including a 4.39 40, 23 reps on bench, and a 41.5” vertical
But how’s the tape? Well…
lightning play speed
legit RAC ability
slippery at the top of routes
some alignment versatility
short area burst
Easily a top 50 player.

At first I was blind, but now I see Iowa State WR Jaylin Noel.

I like Iowa State WR Jaylin Noel more every time I watch him

Top-5 WR in this class
Harmon's take on this kid is impressive. Puts him as a vertical slot receiver archetype, and has similarities to his writeup on Josh Downs coming out of college.
One to watch where he lands.

Jaylin Noel 2025 #ReceptionPerception Prospect Profile
Some highlights:
- 74.1% success rate vs. man coverage (84th percentile)
- 81.8% success rate vs. zone coverage
- 80% contested catch rate in the sample
Guy is a baller, and I can easily see how he's going to help an NFL team as a vertical slot who can also play a little flanker. You'll love some of the RP comps I threw out in this profile.

In a WR class uncertainty this yr, I know exactly what I’m getting with ISU’s Jaylin Noel. Team that pulls trigger in RD2 should have a difference-maker in slot for many years!
-Undersized, yes. But 4yr player/3yr starter. Final 3yrs: 202-2,586-12.8-18
-Uncovers in a flash. Route suddenness and savvy are outstanding. He’s got it all - tempos, leverage, speed outs, body control, explosion out of breaks and spatial awareness.
-Hands and radius are smaller-than-ideal but he’s reliable and tough.
-Plus, his 20.8 MPH @seniorbowl was 6th fastest among all players and 2nd fastest WR.
Bech is another who received praise from Harmon in his writeup, but not so much with Higgins. He's ahead of his teammate Higgins at this point for me. Anyone else? I imagine his ceiling is a little lower than Higgins, but his floor feels much higher and less of a bust potential. Pending RB landing spots I can see me taking a shot at Noel in the 2nd round. He and Bech are leading the way of my favorite WRs once the big names are off the board.
They just both feel safe. Can be used in multiple ways, win in multiple ways, would fit in multiple schemes, and very reliable. Kinda like bargain value Egbukas. I'd temper expectations and draft them knowing I'll likely get a WR3/flex player, and hope they can become a WR2 in the right situation. But in the 2nd round of rookie drafts, that feels like a win to me.Bech is another who received praise from Harmon in his writeup, but not so much with Higgins. He's ahead of his teammate Higgins at this point for me. Yup, that's why he doesn't like him playing outside and would rather see him employed as a power slot. They just both feel safe. I think Harmon brought it up on one of his recent podcasts, the only thing with Bech is I believe he runs almost all his routes from one side of the field and rarely got moved around the lineup. That does tend to be a pretty big red flag historically for WRs.

The 33rd Team

Noel finished 7th in receiving yards from the slot despite ranking 28th in slot routes
Next Gen Stats
RD 3 | PK 79 - Texans: Jaylin Noel WR, Iowa State
Noel recorded the longest broad jump (11'2") among wide receivers at the Combine, earning the 3rd-highest NGS athleticism score among the position group in this year's class (91).
The @HoustonTexans now roster three Iowa State receivers in Noel, second-rounder Jayden Higgins, and Xavier Hutchinson.
Perfect player to learn from. Kirk seems like a one-year player in Houston anyways.New shareholder here. He fell well below adp in my draft and so here we are..
Extremely happy with the Harmon profile which I just listened to. Excellent vertical slot who has very above average win rates vs man and press coverage. This man is wicked strong.. leading bench press vs the WRs , only bested by one running back and two tight ends.
I see now why he fell. Christian Kirk has his exact role. He’s going to have to get past him on the depth chart.
It seems to me that the fantasy community is too high on Kyle Williams. The problem with Noel is he's at best #3 on his own team, but I like him more than Williams, who I view as a 3rd round pick. He's going in the 2nd in most rookie drafts. He went 3.04 in both of my previous rookie drafts, and I just moved up to get him at 3.07 in another when (to me) he was far and away the best player available.
Interesting that people are still sleeping on him. I think he belongs in that conversation with Bech and Williams around the 2/3 turn.
I have both as Round 2 rookie picks. In terms of immediate opportunity, Williams gets the nod ahead of Noel, but situations change quickly. Noel has some alignment versatility, although he was deployed primarily out of the slot at Iowa State. He reminds me a bit of Amon-Ra St. Brown, with better wheels and athleticism. It is a crowded receiver room in Houston, and you have to bake that into his value. On the positive side of the ledger, however, Noel gets a young, talented signal caller in Stroud, Tank Dell is no guarantee to return at all this season (and perhaps never to pre-injury form), Noel brings a different set of skills than either Collins or Higgins, and Christian Kirk is a stop-gap for the Texans. It seems to me that the fantasy community is too high on Kyle Williams. He went 3.7 in a .5 ppr one QB performance scoring league draft that ended yesterday.
