WR Jerry Jeudy, CLE (1 Viewer)

So Jeudy owners, here we are into the fantasy playoff season. Anyone starting Jerry Jeudy over someone notable this week or does he go to the bench again?

He's interesting for next season depending on the price.

His per game numbers would bring him out to 940 yards and 8.5 TD's if he played the full season.
I worry that the Broncos are married to Russ and he has been so disappointing.
But the numbers are better than I thought once you figure in the injuries.

Hopefully with a new coaching regime and offensive ecosystem, Wilson can improve next year - even if he doesn’t get back to the same guy we saw in Seattle.

With regard to Jeudy specifically, he seems to be proving that he is the better WR than Sutton, when most thought it would be the opposite this year.

Not me :)

Jeudy is better than Sutton due to todays nfl game. Get open; make guys miss. Get some yac, Sutton would be a beast in the Calvin Johnson days but those are gone. Not many very tall receivers left

Broncos interim head coach Jerry Rosburg said Jerry Jeudy (ankle) is expected to play in Week 17 against the Chiefs.

Jeudy's ankle issue appeared to flair up in Week 16. He got tangled up on the first play of the game but returned a few snaps later. His reps were limited in practice, but that appears to be a precautionary measure. He will rank as a low-end WR2 in a high-scoring affair with the Chiefs.

i expect a big game from Jeudy, especially with Dulcich now out. Despite the horrific play from Wilson and the o-line, there should be ample opportunity to get GTP in this one. He’s obviously not scoring 3x again, but i think 100-120/1 are a lock. Assuming his ankle doesn’t slow him down.

Nice finish to the season by Jeudy. Career highs in receptions and yards (just shy of 1000 yards). Not exactly eye popping numbers but still impressive given the disastrous Broncos offense - eventually developed some good chemistry with Wilson and separated himself from Sutton. Arrow is pointing up assuming the offense has to get better, and if Sean Payton comes in, that could be huge.

Why do you think he is aided by the Payton hire? I like Juedy, don't get me wrong, but I was thinking earlier of the players who benefit from the Payton hire and he was not one of them. I was even thinking they might have to dangle him to see what kind of draft capital he can get back.

Payton has very strong track record on every level of offense. He's repeatedly cultivated great production from multiple WRs & RBs.

Why wouldn't you be high on Jeudy &/or Sutton?

I don't really agree with the bolded. In his time with the Saints he got a lot of good years out of Colston and a few great years out of Thomas. That's not a lot, and none of those WR's are similar to Juedy.

If I jump in the way back time machine when he was OC with the Giants his best WR every year by far was Amani Toomer, another big bodied WR.

That pretty much covers his history as OC or head coach.

The WR on Denver that is most similar to those two IMO is Tim Patrick. A big slot. Sutton maybe due to size but he does not work the middle of the field like those two. I can't come up with a finesse type smooth route runner like Juedy who has ever been a big part of a Sean Payton offense.

So yes you can say it's a new QB, new era, etc, etc. That's fair I'm just saying I've not actually seen any evidence his offense suits a player of Juedy's skill set.

Wilson, Dulcich, Javonte and Tim Patrick seem like the clear winners if they can get healthy.

Due to the financial commitments to Patrick and Sutton, loss of draft capital paid out for Wilson and Payton, Juedy entering last year of his deal and weak FA and WR draft, basically a whole lot of stuff, I still think a trade of Juedy should not surprise anyone.

A Jeudy trade is certainly possible for all het factors you mentioned, but we know that trades don't happen that easily in the NFL. If Jeudy does stay, I don't think the type of WR he cultivated in New York and New Orleans is necessarily a harbinger of things to come. Payton is smart enough of a coach to get the ball to his best playmakers, and right now that appears to be Jeudy. Doesn't mean he'll dominate targets, but have to think he'll get the ball a lot IMO.

The Athletic's Jeff Howe reports the Broncos want "at least" a first-round draft pick for Jerry Jeudy.

It's certainly a steep price for Jeudy, 23, a fourth-year wideout who has never met expectations after being taken by Denver with the 15th pick in the 2020 draft. While rumors of Jeudy's availability have circulated in league circles over the past week, no team is going to part with a first rounder and other assets for Jeudy. Jeudy ended the 2022 season on a hot streak, recording 35 receptions for 459 yards and three touchdowns over his final five games. Unless the Broncos' asking price comes down, Jeudy will be Denver's No. 1 wideout to start the Sean Payton era.

Not a chance on Gods green earth, but I could be wrong.

I wouldn't give up more than a 3rd if I were an NFL GM. If anything, this would want to make me pivot to Sutton, who is probably a better WR anyway, and seemingly a lot cheaper.

Why is Denver so hell bent on moving one of their 2 young WRs? You'd think they would want to build around Wilson or whatever back up plan they have right?

If they could have they would not be sitting here putting out word it's what they "want".

He’s not a better wr
No, not close. Juedy is going to get more then a third back. Sutton is more of a day 3 guy with that contract and level of performance, probably not even early day 3.

Tim Patrick and Dulchich can do the things for them that the type of receivers who have had the most success in Paytons offense did for him. Colston, Thomas, Graham.

I said this back when they hired Payton and some people though it was good news for Juedy. He's not the kind of WR who has excelled in this offense. Sutton is more that type but he's to much money for someone who can't run well anymore. He's in Allen Robinson kind of land.

Local beat writer (Mike Klis) saying Broncos not "shopping" either Sutton or Jeudy, just "listening to offers."

Reasons for WR availability being combination of a) lack of 2023 draft capital, b) good depth at WR (Jeudy, Sutton, Patrick, Hamler, Dulcich) and c) potential shift to run-heavy offense as indicated by acquisitions of OL Powers and McGlinchey.

Looking for a 2nd for Jeudy

NE has reached out to DEN about Jeudy. Not sure how far that went or if it was more than checking in to see if he is available or not.

Looking for a 2nd for Jeudy
They will get that.
Jalen Ramsey got a third.. no way.

Age and money matter
And production. 50 catches a year? He falls into a muddy mix of RBs and TEs.
A lot of mitigating factors at play for Jeudy. Teams try and pay for what they think you can do, not what you've done.
By mitigating factors you mean excuses? Fair.

I'd expect teams to be lining up for a former 1st round pick then. No? Hmm.

Better than Sutton.

Hard to put a whole lot of stock in when I have zero doubts he shopped the heck out of both of them.

More likely a case of he can't get back what he thought he could for Juedy and can't get anyone to take Sutton off their hands. Yet.
I have little doubt he dangled them with so much draft capital lost between Wilson and Payton himself. Clearly teams didn't bite though and now with the Hamler injury and few top notch rookies in the draft, makes sense to hold on. If the team is out of the playoff race, I could see Jeudy being moved at the deadline given his contract year status.

ESPN's Dan Graziano reports the Broncos "aren't hanging up the phone when teams call them about receivers Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton."

Graziano's report comes days after Broncos head coach Sean Payton said the team would not trade Sutton or Jeudy this offseason, denying rumors that both wideouts were available. The team was reportedly looking for a first round draft pick in exchange for Jeudy, a scenario that can be generously called a pipe dream. Graziano said "at this point, with a month left before the draft, the Broncos are still asking a lot in return. We will see if things change as the draft gets closer, but for now Jeudy and Sutton remain Broncos and nothing seems like it's close to happening to change that." Losing Jeudy would be a blow to whatever remains of Russell Wilson's fantasy prospects.

Well, that would be rude.
I just don't answer my phone 99% of the time. My wife asked me why I have a phone. I told her that I have to have a phone for authentication to sign into work. Hell, I don't even know where my phone is most of the time. Yet, most people have those damn things glued to their hand. It's comical watching people on their phones at an airport or doctor's office. At the airport I count them to get a percentage. After counting I typically have my eyes closed and try and take a nap. I'd be willing to bet most people can't resist that ding of an email fresh in their inbox. I know I can.

Great insight. Not everyone aspires to be like you or even care how you live your life.

You know there's a great app you can use for tallying the people you see on their phones. It figures the percentage for you and everything. ZombieCounter, $1.99 on the Google store, you won't regret it.
