WR Jerry Jeudy, CLE (3 Viewers)

This was so unusual last night that it caught me off guard. Seeing Steve Smith clearly rip him was very odd. After thinking about it, whether his analysis is right or wrong doesn't matter imo.

If NFL sideline reporters are going to interact in this way with players involved in the game it's going to start feeling like professional wrestling, which would be horrible. There is a time and place for critical analysis, and this really isn't it.
Smith took to a personal level. He should be fired.

it's going to start feeling like professional wrestling
I was thinking of Smith and Harrison's actions and had the exact same comp.

Personally I thought announcing, studio hosts and sideline reporters were all better when the networks did not fill the need to hire so many ex-high profile players. Basically like not the Amazon crew.

The media isn't held accountable any longer. They say what ever pops into their pea brains.

Rodney Harrison calling Zach Wilson trash on a broadcast, and trying to bait Chris Jones into agreeing with him.

Donte Whitner calling Dak trash on a broadcast.

Steve Smith calling Jeudy a JAG and bashing him for several minutes on a broadcast.

Apparently we just let these guys say anything they want into a microphone, huh? Bad look for all of them, and I've lost respect for all of them because of it.

It's sickening. This is the hot take/clickbait world these guys operate in.

It's a crowded field so some feel that the urge to spray is the only way they get noticed. Steve Smith for example... what else in the broadcasting world would he be good for other than "hot takes"... his entire bag of tricks is just snarky comments.

I'm sure they all feel pressured to Stephen A. Smith it up. Maybe it's a required element for their job these days.

Extremes sell.

I didn't see anything in Jeudy's body language last night that would indicate any of the negative character issues that are being talked about.

He was engaged with his teammates and hustling in and out of the huddle all night.

Of course he couldn't seem to get open and/or Russ couldn't find him and/or Payton's play design was terrible...but those are separate topics.

His calling card is route running. I watched a few of his routes and you're right, he couldn't get open.

Yeah, I really hope the NFL realizes this isn't the way to go. For now though, they were tacitly endorsing this because they cut back to him a couple of times, and after each bit the guys in the studios were whooping it up like they loved it.

Not to my taste. Maybe I'm getting old.

There’s been a lot of speculation the last two weeks about Jeudy getting traded. It’s been specifically to the Panthers, and then all the Twitter stuff happened. The FAN 104.3 just made a statement that their news on the forefront about Jeudy. We are about to find out. If the Panthers are wanting a WR1, not sure why they would trade for this guy. Immaturity levels are off the charts.

If Tepper likes him, they'll attempt the trade.

Craters his value even more if he ends up on carolina...practically droppable
I can't say I agree, they are scheming Thielen into a fantasy superstart.
You think they'll be able to support two wrs?

I think they'll stop scheming so much for a 33 year old catch and fall WR.

ETA-also they are third in the league in pass attempts so yes.

I'd also add that only interesting thing I took away from Steve Smiths diatribe yesterday was his comment about "if an owner calls him asking about Juedy" because I assume he was talking about Tepper. Which if they put any stock in what he says would not help Juedy's chances of landing in Carolina.

 thielen is a little more than that i think but well played. i think jeudy getting traded will do him good, he's got physical talent that just isn't coming out in Denver. whether that's on him or the team, it goes hand in hand imo so being a 2 in Carolina for the remainder of this season and having an offseason with a young QB can't be worse, for him and for Denver.

When Jeudy performs even close to how Thielen has in his career including this very year that might happen. But in all facets Thielen >>> Jeudy.

I believe Thielen was literally the last efficient WR last year out of like 117 candidates. Maybe he was second worst. That was playing opposite Jefferson. He's been great for fantasy but real NFL is different and this is not a career achievement award. He's no scaring anyone, he's what the defense gives you.

Doesn't this guy have 3 career TD's or something? Can't believe I was actually happy when he fell to me in re-draft

he's like the band Boston- maybe one good album but everyone thinks they've got a ton of hits and so on but they've really only had one LP worth while. Unless you like slitting your wrists to 'amanda' because its so woefully bad. We've heard about how great jeudy is for 15 years now, maybe 20.
I remember back in the day everyone telling me how scary the Exorcist was..so begrudgingly i FINALLY saw it years later. it was like a comedy - oh wait what happens here, oh shes spinning her head around oooh scary LOL so silly. like silence of the Rams or Lambs. I'm gonna cook your liver with brett favre-ah beans. um yeah that's scary ooh and the slurping sound you made there anthony hopkins, very impressive. Or a jackass like Andy Kaufman , you're told 'oh he's a prodigy like Van Halen on the guitar' LOL. I don't get it the duh duh duh stuff on Taxi, his silly appearances on letterman. can someone explain to me how Kaufman is even remotely funny? oh wait was that the point? he's such a maestro am I suppose to see the comedy in the fact that he's serially unfunny like mellissa mccarthy ?? if you want a funny comedian hof'er you watch mitch hedberg not this dopey kaufman guy.

so many times people talk up a player or movie or musician or 'actor' and then you're like 'i dont get it' .Jeudy was really good in college but that has not translated to the NFL in any way. he's really just a roster filler piece bye week player at best has been so his entire career. he's had a cup of coffee as a 'decent' starting WR but that was during the Nixon administration.
I've never had shares of him never will too injury prone for my liking. he was so good in college that he gets way more slack in the NFL than he really should. the production is just not there. Players who are constantly hurt do exist, not unlike OBJ. many of these guys milk it and do it on purpose to collect a paycheck and never produce on the field

oh and BTW , Kramer from seinfeld is the most unfunny character in comedy show history. oh he crashes the door again, yay soo funny!! do I clap now? so painful to watch that guy. he too does the duh duh duh studdering thing..oh wait, isn't kramer actually kaufman I mean they're the same dopey unfunny guy. didnt he steal kaufmans schtick?? sorry, patrick from spongebob is way more cutting edge funny then either of these two, and I mean that sincerely.and you ever notice all the so called funny people in tv comedies like phoebe from Friends, Kramer, Kaufman, monroe ficus too close for comfort, that stupid sheldon cooper guy on big bang theory, and so on, they're ALL the same player? wash rinse repeat. has been that way for decades.

Smith is a terrible analyst and a clown on top of it.

He didn’t like Joe Thomas because Thomas basically called him out on some of his analysis by saying he was off base.

Just curious - any locals hear local media's take on Jeudy today? You can't try to show up Smith on national tv and then go out and lay that stinker.

Smith - "I'm as hot as fish grease"

You are correct about Jeudy, incorrect on everything else.

When did Jeudy get benched ? I must missed that.

AtoZSports’ Destin Adams reports the Colts have had trade talks for Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy.
Jeudy, who was benched in Week 6, is expected to be traded prior to the deadline. In addition to the Colts, at least one NFC team has checked in on Jeudy. The Broncos (1-5) are in the midst of a fire sale, trading/releasing DEs Randy Gregory and Frank Clark the last two weeks. Trading Jeudy would help open up snaps for rookie Marvin Mims.

Did not see Juedy get benched or heard anything about it.

Maybe Colts are interested, have heard that rumor before, but I'm having a hard time believing some guy from A to Z sports with less then 10K followers is out here scooping Denver and Colts beat writers. Rotoworld is not known for their journalistic integrity or anything but a little surprised they ran with this as a blurb considering the source.

Jeudy was at 90% of snaps, his 2nd highest of the season. If he got benched it was maybe on the very last drive and that is it.

Colts would be a somewhat odd fit. They have invested 3 day 2 picks on Pittman, Pierce, and Downs. Pittman is good and Downs has looked solid. I'm not a big Pierce fan, but I'm not sure Jeudy would be any higher than 3rd in the Indy pecking order.

Carolina has been said to be in the market for a #1 WR, but I feel like a draft pick deficient rebuilding team shouldn't be trading draft picks, and Jeudy hasn't given any reason to think he's a #1.

A potential darkhorse team that nobody is talking about, what about Philly? Howie Roseman has kind of become the king of getting values, and Philly has nothing behind AJ/Smith. Jeudy could easily beat out Zaccheus/Watkins and be the slot guy in an offense where he'd hardly see any coverage. Seems like the type of addition a Super Bowl contender could make. Also, Jeudy and Hurts played together at Bama.

Along the same lines, Buffalo would be somewhat interesting. Having a guy like Jeudy in the slot, instead of the revolving door of slot guys they have behind Diggs/Davis would make the offense much harder to defend, though it does seem like they would prefer Kincaid to be more of that role than a true TE. Still, with their defensive losses, perhaps they expect to be a bit of a shootout team going forward.

I have read numerous reports that Roseman/Siranni are cognizant that they have 3 good pass catchers already and making sure they get them touches is a priority/issue and I don't think they are looking to add to that dilemma.

There are just a very few actual #1WR's and I think Juedy is getting a bad knock, was awfully productive last year and I think people under estimate the importance of scheme helping WR's. Speaking of Carolina take Thielen for instance. But long story short he'd be their #1. Their lack of draft capital is an issue though, though I think Juedy can be had for a third and change. Like I was saying yesterday something that will look close, but less, then what Elijah Moore got traded for.

Pierce just can't get open, one of my misses. Stiff.I'm for sure not going to say Juedy would be third in the pecking order on that team or would be inferior talent to any of them. Really different set of skill sets. But with a chance Richardson will require surgery and be out of the season I'm thinking that might change whatever plans they had to add someone.

Along the same lines, Buffalo would be somewhat interesting. Having a guy like Jeudy in the slot,
They'd be better for it but might require them to already admit the made a mistake on the Kincaid as a slot plan and teams are reticient to do that so soon.

Patriots make all kinda sense.
My question is why would anyone want him? I mean someone traded for Claypool so I guess there’s always a sucker out but it sure looks like Jeudy just isn’t a quality player.
I don't agree with that statement and I'm sure many teams don't either is the answer to your question.
He was pretty efficient last year, I was expecting a nice season from him so I’m being overly critical but he’s been downright bad this year.

i had a whole paragraph about change of scenery, and then I checked.

Broncos picked up his 5th year option, he's guaranteed 12.987 mill next year.

hang onto those Jeudy jerseys for another year, people. And LOL Broncos

Again I disagree. Can you point out where he's been bad? Can anyone tell me where Juedy has been bad this year and I don't mean for your fantasy teams.

I'm really down on his narrative that when a receiver does not put up big stats he's bad. Scheme/QB, these things matters Are Terry McLuaring and Dotson playing downright bad? No, the scheme is just not suited for them to produce. I'm just not seeing Juedy running wrong routes, dropping passes, failing to do anything other then his snap counts have been down from last year and the balls not been coming his way.

So less then OJB, basically Lazard money plus you get him for half a season this year for about $1.5M.

I don't think his contract, having him for 1.5 seasons at a total of $15m is a turnoff to teams relative to the WR market. It is however a factor for teams who don't have a lot of cap space next year and don't have plans to extend him.

His efficiency numbers are bad. You are right it’s based on scheme and what they are asking him to do. I’m not watching All22 of his plays or anything. He’s just not making plays, not being efficient when targeted, is producing less than his teammates when targeted.

Trading for him as a reclamation project in last year of rookie deal makes sense. Trading for a 5th year option that his original team doesn't want to pay isn't very attractive.

Again, like most post in this thread I don't agree.

To be specific I don't agree he's a reclamation project and I've seen no signs Denver does not want to pay the 5th year option they just picked up, they just want and badly need some draft capital after paying out so much for an over the hill QB and head coach.

After this week, with Smith and Schlereth killing Jeudy, I don't see anyone giving up any valuable draft pick for him.
Give me a list of execs that base trade value on Schlereth and Smith, so I know which execs need to be fired.
Wasn't specifically saying they'd be listened to. Was more pointing out this is how Jeudy is being viewed by former star players. Fantasy nerds see the upside of him putting up fun stats because he was great in college. But I wouldn't be surprised if more people that are actually involved in the league view him as a lazy loser.

What is his trade value? A 4th rounder? I’m sure Denver just wants to get rid of him and will probably just take best offer even if it is a 5th or 6th.
If the price is a 5th or 6th, then literally every team in the NFL should be interested. Literally every team, no exceptions. No teams have 3 WRs more talented than Jeudy.

I'd be shocked if they couldn't get a 4 at the minimum.

Sounds like chase Claypool 2.0.

Being viewed by two guys in the media.

I don't give Jeudy any negative marks because he didn't feel like talking to Steve Smith--after Steve Smith ran him down on TV.

Then Steve Smith runs to the TV, to discuss how Jeudy was rude to him for not talking to him, after Smith ran him down on TV.

Like, seriously, #### Steve Smith.

No thank you…the last thing this train wreck needs is to be trading draft picks and I really hope Kraft has told BB that trading future draft capital is not on the table for him…those picks belong to the next GM…also, Jeudy is on the hook for something like 13 mil next year…no need to tie that up in a WR that has many questions…they already have enough tied up in the disaster that is Juju.

Yeah, I am not really seeing a trade market, when you have the 5th year option guaranteed.

oh and BTW , Kramer from seinfeld is the most unfunny character in comedy show history. oh he crashes the door again, yay soo funny!! do I clap now? so painful to watch that guy. he too does the duh duh duh studdering thing..oh wait, isn't kramer actually kaufman I mean they're the same dopey unfunny guy. didnt he steal kaufmans schtick?? sorry, patrick from spongebob is way more cutting edge funny then either of these two, and I mean that sincerely.and you ever notice all the so called funny people in tv comedies like phoebe from Friends, Kramer, Kaufman, monroe ficus too close for comfort, that stupid sheldon cooper guy on big bang theory, and so on, they're ALL the same player? wash rinse repeat. has been that way for decades.
The joke about Boston (that I think was very close to true ) was: I like one Boston song....and when someone would ask which one the answer was...picky one they are all the same.
