WR Josh Gordon, KC (4 Viewers)

Justin Blackmond 2.0
I don't think that's really fair, Blackmon never really tried to address his addiction or pursue the NFL after his last suspension.  I think Gordon has made it very obvious that he wants to not be an addict and he works very hard at it for long stretches, but then the addiction...well to quote a wise man "Sometimes you eat the bear and sometimes the bear eats you."

Soulfly should just probably get an alias at this point.  There are not enough words in the english language that can describe this level of fail.

Stupid question--but is he a safe drop in re-draft? From what I've read--the average inpatient rehab treatment takes something like 90 days--which is essentially the entire fantasy season.  I'd be curious to hear any opinions from anybody that has knowledge of these types of treatments.

I'd definitely drop in redraft.

Inpatient rehabs can be anywhere from 1 day to who knows unless it is court ordered.

I am of the opinion that he would not be doing this unless he got popped again, and is trying to save his career past this season.  So, I think we are pretty likely to hear about a failed test.

Feel like waiting another day or two to get a better read is the safer thing to do.

The kicker I need can wait until Sunday morning.

Uggh--your thoughts pretty much mirrored what I was thinking.  The dude parties all off season with Manziel, then has 4 free weeks while he's suspended--and just goes to rehab literally days before he's supposed to return?   Even he doesn't seem that stupid.  There must have been another failed test. Such a waste of talent.

Exactly. Maybe he just felt tempted and thought it best to remove himself from the temptations, which would show enormous maturity. If, however, he is doing this to try and save his career because he failed a test, I will probably drop him.

Really only other rational explanation is that he suffers from performance anxiety and imminent return without a substance to lean on  was to much for him to deal with. That being said the opinion you shared is the one that makes most logical sense and to me is most likely explanation.

Mother @#$ how did I end up with both Gordon and Bryant on my dynasty team. More importantly, hope the kid gets a handle on his issues.

I friggin knew it. As soon as there was ANYTHING bad about him in the headlines, I knew there was just no f-in way I'd have him in my lineup for week 5. And in the same league with Dez - I knew it. AGGGGHHH!!!!!

Thankfully it was just a 9th. On the other hand, I could have had Sterling Shepard, the Vikings D/ST, Willie Snead, or Melvin Gordon (who I strongly considered there, but needed a WR more than another RB).

:wall:

And to add insult to injury, this comes out on a Thursday *&^%#!&^$@! afternoon, AFTER I made tough drops in a short bench league. CRAP!

Ps - I do wish Josh Gordon, the human being, well. I do not mean for my post to sound as completely selfish and insensitive as it does upon re-reading. A young man's life hangs in the balance here, and I hope that he can get a handle on his personal demons.

The football-player Josh Gordon tho - man what a letdown. For one, I just enjoyed watching the kid play. For another I liked watching him score points like a pinball machine.

Anyone know if this means "out for 2016"? That's what Rotoworld is saying, but I do not see that anywhere else.

If this was just about any other player, it would certainly be a wait and see approach..............but you know damn well what this means.  Yes he is toast for 2016 minimum.

Assuming he is actually entering rehab of course, and that this isn't just some BS story

The #Browns have officially just released Josh Gordon after he admitted to failing another drug test.
It's a fake - sorry folks. Was at the top of the google.

Actually, I think the 30 for 30 on this will come out around the same time the NFL not only allowed weed but ENCOURAGES its use rather than the regular ol super addictive painkillers.  Will be a very ironic 30 for 30.
