WR Keenan Allen, CHI (2 Viewers)

"Fell down & it's sore". Surely they weren't hitting in practice.

Did he fall down a flight of stairs or what?

Will play per schefter.  Still considering sitting him for tyrell or djax.
I think I am just playing it safe and rolling John Brown out over him. I don't have any other options in the late games and I worry about the combo of Broncos D and Allen aggravating the injury and leaving the game.

I'm leaning to benching Allen, in favour of either Benjamin or Bryant.  Reports are that Bryant will get the snaps and with Adam Jones out, Byrant has the chance to have a day.

I'm doing the same exact thing. Here's hoping that they both blow up.

No way I play KB over KA. KB is even more injured. Bryant is a very very risky play but he has does have a very high ceiling.

Debating on benching him in favor of Sanu vs NE in a shootout or Decker against an injured browns secondary. Had a good week last week too.

Keenan Allen has averaged 10 targets per game 5.5 receptions and is WR 14 over 6 games yet it sounds like most people are planning to bench him.

Allens last five games vs the Broncos the only dud game here was at the end of the 2014 season where Allen only played 19 offensive snaps (28.8%)
Good post. My decision is more that I am higher on John Brown than most and I think I am a solid favorite this week and just want to avoid a potential 0 if Allen for some reason aggravates the injury early in the game and leaves the game. The Chargers have lots of healthy WR options that could replace Allen if they felt his shoulder wasn't right.

I also went with John Brown over Allen.

Went back and forth and agonized over it. Does John Brown even play??

Anyone have the stones to roll him out this week @Jax?

I don't think I can do it. My other options also have bad matchups (Fitz vs Sea, Parker @Car), but none are as flat-out horrible as Jacksonville, and it's not like Allen has been lighting the rest of the league on fire, either.

If he blows up on my bench, so be it.

Rolling.  I can see why you'd sit him with better options but, alas, I don't have any.  Hoping for 12 pts. in ppr.  but won't be surprised with 7.

Starting cooks and Dez over him if he plays.  If Dez sits still starting Robby Anderson over Allen.  I might start Anderson over Dez regardless

He's on my bench for the first time all year. Four straight pedestrian weeks, 3 weeks of declining targets, and going up against the D giving up the fewest points to WRs.

Was not an easy decision - start 3 WR plus a W/R/T flex. Not like I got a ton of producers to choose from:

  • Cooks
  • Funchess
  • Fuller
  • Smith-Schuster
  • Woods
  • Parker

You should climb into your DeLorean and tell three-weeks-ago BobbyLayne about this lineup decision. Will blow his mind.

Thanks. Dealing with a swollen ear now. 10/19 BL just slapped 11/9 BL up side the head.

I can't make myself bench him in PPR formats. Plus, his end zone allergy is due to clear up any day now...
A.J. Bouye and Jalen Ramsey don’t care our WR is due.

The only question I have is which CB is better? Because they are both playing top-5 lights out football right now.

Oh, I know but Rivers has got to throw to someone and Keenan is good enough to overcome a really good CB.

Do we own all the same players?  :P

You starting Martin again?
Was thinking that also lol.

I'm starting Martin, I don't have much choice. Keenan too
Been thinking about how the game flow is going to go in Tampa. The Jets blitzed TT a lot, I'm expecting the same versus Fitz. But it's hard to see a scenario where the Jets dominate again like they did against Buffalo. Which makes me think Martin is in line for a lot of work. If you go through the game logs, outside of the TNF game versus Shady, they've given up points to pretty much every RB. Not elite games but pretty solid for the most part. Mulling it over. Have Bell and Mixon in at the moment, probably going WR for the slot this week.

Doesn't Keenan run out of the slot some?

Other problem is how many opportunities will the offense have. Chargers are giving up 135 yards rushing per game(4.6 ypc allowed). Bengals only ran 37 offensive plays all game on Sunday(Dalton with 7 pass attempts in first half). Chargers are a better team with a better pass rush (tougher for Bortles to pick up a first) but the Jags template is to kill the clock. If they get a couple first downs, kill 5-6 minutes of clock and punt it deep, they're okay with that.

Keenan Allen is currently 12th in targets 17th in receptions 12th in receiving yards but only the 32nd WR in standard scoring because he hasn't scored since week one. In PPR he is currently WR 25.

He has averaged 9.1 targets 5 receptions 68.5 yards per game. Over 16 games this would be 146 targets 80 receptions 1096 yards and 2 TD which is 121.6 points in standard (WR 33 in 2016) and 201.6 points in PPR (WR 21 in 2016).

Keenan Allens current catch rate is 54.8% which is significantly lower than his career catch rate of 68.8%

Prior to this season Allen scored .42 TD per game, this season he has scored .12 TD per game.

I could see progression towards the mean for Allen which if that does happen would be 146 targets 100 receptions 1215 yards 7 TD by the end of the season. If that happens Allen will average 9.1 targets 7.5 receptions 90.7 yards .75 TD per game over the next 8 games.

These numbers would be worth 163.5 points in standard (WR 10 in 2016) and 263.5 points in PPR (WR 6 in 2016) and perhaps more importantly 10.45 points per game in standard and 17.9 points in PPR over the next 8 games.

He will likely fall short of those totals, but still seems like a good player to try to buy low on for the 2nd half of the season. I think the catch rate is more likely to progress than the TD per game numbers.

Agree with pretty much all of that. He's still sitting for me this Sunday.

I guess Ramsey is scaring a lot of people away. Jacksonville is the best defense vs WR so far this season.

The rest of Allens schedule looks like this:

@     Jacksonville Jaguars    1st vs WR
Buffalo Bills            8th vs WR
@    Dallas Cowboys        25th vs WR
Cleveland Browns        10th vs WR
Washington Redskins        6th vs WR
@    Kansas City Chiefs    32nd vs WR
@    New York Jets        24th vs WR
Oakland Raiders            16th vs WR

Add me to the Allen/Martin duo as well lol. Have to start both this week with Hunt and Ajayi on byes. Not happy about it, but we’ll see what happens.
+1 here on Allen/Martin (rename the thread?).

Corey Davis the only option for a KA sub and his matchup is about as bad.

Well I hope you eased him into it. Can't just tell him straight out of the gate that you're starting all your Rams and sitting all your Packers.
