Kevin White caught 1-of-3 targets for six yards in the Bears' second preseason game against the Patriots.
White did a good job coming back to the ball on a curl route for his lone grab, but he later committed a bad drop when lined up on the left side of the formation. As noted by Rotoworld draft guru Josh Norris, White never played on the left side in college, as he strictly lined up wide right. While reports have been glowing on White much of the practice season, he still has plenty to learn.

Kevin White caught 1-of-4 targets for three yards Saturday against the Chiefs.
White had a rough day, dropping a screen pass in the third quarter and running what looked like a bad route on the next play. White has yet to top one catch or six yards in a game this preseason and has been limited to mostly screen passes. It looks like he still has a long way to go, but his upside is worth the risk in the eighth round.

Agreed. While he's not a 'rookie' he still kind of is, didn't play last season and he was considered raw anyways. He may be decent in the last half of the season but I don't put much faith in the Bears offense as a whole.8th round? This guy shouldn't go earlier than the last few rounds.
Pretty good for being 43.Kevin White
Week 2 10 snaps 1 target 1 catch 3 yards
Week 3 32 snaps (46%) 3 targets 1 catch 6 yards
Week 4 31 snaps (48%) 4 targets 1 catch 3 yards
73 snaps 8 targets 3 receptions 12 yards
oof
I saw the highlight of his best catch. His steps look kind of choppy to me, like there were some wasted steps in there. Didn't look smooth to me. Glad to see him get open although the route took some time to develop.Looked big & FAST last night. Hard to stick with off the ball. Moves more like a Fitzgerald than Julio in my eyes... but maybe its the dreads?
Agree about the running as that caught my eye immediately. I remember someone mentioning something about his gait awhile back. It looked like he ran bow-legged to a certain degree. Definitely did not look smooth.I saw the highlight of his best catch. His steps look kind of choppy to me, like there were some wasted steps in there. Didn't look smooth to me. Glad to see him get open although the route took some time to develop.
Interested in seeing more of him. I have drafted him a few times this year in redraft which I may end up regretting, but the last game was at least a promising sign of life.
LINKIs there a video of the pay people are talking about?

It is all we have aside from College performance to look at in regards to Kevin White. There is no regular season performance to look at yet. These guys that analyze pre-season stats,![]()
Sounds like Cordarrelle Patterson. @-CE- where you at? LOL.Bears OC Dowell Loggains indicated Kevin White's "responsibilities" may be "scaled back" after a rough opener.
The box score showed a team-high seven targets against the Texans, but White got Jay Cutler intercepted on a bad route and came away with 34 yards. "Trying to keep his role as simple as possible for him and do things that he's very comfortable doing," Loggains said regarding the Bears' goal for White. "At West Virginia, the route tree wasn't big. He played on one side of the field." It would not be surprising if White began losing snaps and targets to Eddie Royal.

This!He has only played two NFL games. He actually had some receptions. The Bears will likely throw the ball a lot. As long as he stays involved I would expect him to get better in time.
I understand the patience...just don't like the hitch in his giddy. He has only played two NFL games. He actually had some receptions. The Bears will likely throw the ball a lot. As long as he stays involved I would expect him to get better in time.
I think I have seen what you are talking about KoJ. I didn't watch too much of last nights game though.I saw the highlight of his best catch. His steps look kind of choppy to me, like there were some wasted steps in there. Didn't look smooth to me. Glad to see him get open although the route took some time to develop.

I wouldn't put any stock in anything Gruden says. He's a talking head on TV.King of the Jungle said:Gruden made a comment on MNF that White looked slow in practice. Maybe that is him adjusting...or maybe the injury is still impacting him in some way.
