WR Michael Thomas, Free Agent (3 Viewers)

Michael Thomas corralled 8-of-11 targets for 114 yards and one score in New Orleans' Week 11 win over the Bucs.

It's the fourth straight 100-yard outing for Thomas as he continued to stack records in securing the most receptions (94) by any player through his team's first 10 games in league history. The All-World 26-year-old is now on-pace to shatter Marvin Harrison's single-season receptions record (143, 2002) by seven catches (150.4). His lone 16-yard score occurred on a secondary meltdown between S Andrew Adams and rookie CB Sean Murphy-Bunting. Unarguably fantasy's most valuable receiver heading into the playoffs, fantasy players can simply sit back and enjoy Thomas' 11.4 targets per game as he continues to lead rankings in Week 12 against Panthers.

this off seasone, the saints should invest in a future qb that complements their franchise player for the next decade.

Michael Thomas caught 11-of-15 targets for 134 yards and one touchdown in the Saints' Week 14 loss to the 49ers.

Another day at the office for the NFL's leading receiver. Richard Sherman tried to hang with Thomas most of the day but predictably was unable to contain him. It was CB Ahkello Witherspoon who was burned by Thomas on his 21-yard touchdown, however. There's just nobody in this league who can cover Thomas. It was a nice rebound game after his down Thanksgiving against Atlanta. Thomas will be an obvious elite WR1 next week against the Colts at the Superdome.

Colts CB Pierre Desir (groin) is questionable for the team's Week 15 matchup against the Saints.

Desir's absence would cause further problems for a secondary that is already in for a long afternoon. Michael Thomas has 16 games with double-digit receptions since entering the league in 2016. Antonio Brown (11) is the only other player with at least 10-such games. Currently averaging the 11th-most PPR per game in a single season among all WRs over the past 50 years, Thomas earned matchup-proof overall WR1 treatment a long time ago.

He’s unstoppable.  They know Brees is going to feed him (to shatter the single season reception record) and he still gets open routinely. He might be in a tier all by himself now.

 
I know WR's never win it. But Thomas gets my vote for OPOY. He's the best non-QB(which seems to be where MVP goes) in the league in my opinion.

Huh, you and me also. After Lamar, Ingram, Higbee and McClaurin went off for me I thought I was safe.  Not so . . .

He and Brees have SOME chenistry, huh?  They should have won the SB the past 2 years. Crazy the bad luck they have had.

 
Now that fantasy season is over and we don't have to worry about every yard or TD, man, was this guy ever a joy to watch all year. Just so good at his job. 

 
Michael Thomas caught 12-of-17 targets for 136 yards and one touchdown in the Saints' 38-28, Week 16 win over the Titans.

Thomas came into this one 10 catches shy of tying Marvin Harrison's single-season catches record of 143. Thomas now holds that place in the record books at 145 with another game to play. He broke the record in the fourth quarter and caught a short touchdown on his 12th and final grab of the afternoon. The 12-3 Saints will travel to Carolina in Week 17. Thomas hung 10-101-1 on the Panthers in Week 12. He has 100 yards in nine of his last 11 games and eight scores in that span.

Michael Thomas caught 7-of-8 targets for 70 yards in the Saints' Wild Card loss to the Vikings.

Thomas finished 2019 with 149 receptions for 1,725 yards and nine touchdowns. The Saints' No. 1 WR has already emerged as Drew Brees' single-best target of his career, regularly displaying a ridiculous combination of route-running ability and competitiveness that has proved to be nearly impossible to consistently stop. The floor here is simply ridiculous from a workload perspective: Thomas had at least 10 targets in all but five games this season (including playoffs). He's been the PPR WR7, WR6, WR6 and WR1 since entering the league. It'll be tough to warrant drafting another WR ahead of Thomas in fantasy drafts of all shapes in sizes in 2020.

Saints WR Michael Thomas has been named the AP Offensive Player of the Year.

Thomas was consistently dominant in 2019, surpassing 100 yards in 10 games while catching at least five passes in all but one contest. Drew Brees' favorite WR finished the season with league-high marks in receptions (149) and receiving yards (1,725). Most impressive was the efficiency at play, as Thomas' 80.5% catch rate is absurd given his sky-high volume. Thomas has set NFL records for most receptions (470) and receiving yards (5,512) in a player's first four seasons.

Not much discussion here. So is this guy the new Marvin Harrison? Flawless ho-hum technician who never dazzles with one handers but just outproduces everyone else for years?

 
That was probably one of the best defenses they will face all season, but on the flip side, Brees really looked his age and that has to be a concern.  They should still be able to pick apart the majority of defenses they will face, but there will be more stretches where they struggle than before.

The CB Carlton Davis who was on him most of the game did a pretty good job.  The other factor was game script, they were mostly running the ball to keep Brady off of the field and run the clock down.  

 
#Saints star WR Michael Thomas suffered a high-ankle injury in Sunday’s win over the #Bucs, but it’s something he believes he can play through, sources tell me and @RapSheet. With an extra day before next Monday’s game vs. #Raiders, nobody ruling Thomas out

 
Video only shows so much, but the broadcast showed the hit late in the game. It looked like it could be of the mild variety, but HAS no matter the severity are always tricky to navigate. I have Manny Sanders behind him because it's a dynasty league, but for the many that don't there may be some uncomfortable decision making next week. Especially with Ruggs dinged up too.
