Even if we take our FF bias out of it, WTF was Payton doing last night? The last TD drive, they were down 2 scores, but they were huddling up, running down the play clock, no urgency at all. Even if you are going to settle for what the D gives you underneath, show some urgency so you have time for a 2nd score.?

Agreed. Down 2 scores and they weren't in any hurry at all. He had to get Hightower some more carries I guess.

Yep - never mind that Brees was actually moving the ball with the no-huddle, never mind that you have 3 outstanding receiving options + Fleener, no - let's take our sweet time, huddle up & then run the ball.
losing by 3 after that because you ran out of time, and especially in light of how fantastic the defense played, is just shameful and worthy of firing IMO. Just an insult to the effort of everyone on the field to mismanage the clock that badly.
How many years of ineptitude is Payton's SB ring going to buy him? By my count it's a few too many already.
The owners of the Saints should just read FFB forums every year to see what a laughingstock the team is. "Draft Brees. Best combo of great weapons and terrible defense!" Said every fantasy football manager ever.
I'm never the guy who claims to be smarter than an NFL HC, but Payton has not exactly wowed me with his strategic acumen.
It was dumb-founding; I understand trying to force the Panthers to stop playing a deep cover 2/3 with the run, but you can't do that down 2 scores with 7 minutes left!
ETA-I guess you can, if you are willing to lose by 1 score.

Thats not a copy/paste error. He is on exactly the same pace down to the yard. He now leads all saints receivers in receptions, yards and touchdowns, and is currently a top ten overall wr in all formats

benched him in favor of Kelce. Had no impact on me with Reed, Brown and ODB blowing up but I just keep swinging and missing on this dude. Put him in week 8 after a few weeks of real production and he went 6/63. Decided to put him back on the bench the next week and he grabs 2 TDs. Feeling like the idiot that I am, I put him back into my lineup and the next two weeks he gets me 2 and 9 points. Back to the bench and Bam! has his career game. This feels like when I used to have Chad Johnson on my team and he'd get me 6-9 points for four weeks in a row, I'd bench him, and he'd grab 3 TDs. I know I'll just never make the right call with him. Frustrating.

He is really good. His only bad game as far as it being his fault is the two fumbles he had against Denver. He catches everything thrown to him. When he gets lower yardage it is just because he didn't get a lot of targets. In an offense where the ball is spread around, he has built great chemistry and trust with Brees, and that says a lot since he is a rookie

I think he's become a must start every week. He's literally a top 10 receiver. Even immediately after his 2 fumble disaster in denver he was still top 15. The only receivers better than him on the season in standard are antonio brown, julio jones, mike evans, obj, ty hilton, terelle pryor(!), jordy nelson and aj green. Thats it. Crazy but true.

He also volleyballed a pass in that game that was picked off - he had 1 really bad game.
That said, man am i glad I traded for this guy! When Snead was dealing with the toe injury I sent Artist-Payne (who'd just been tabbed starter) for Thomas as insurance in case Snead couldn't go.
man did I get lucky!

Michael Thomas (foot) didn't practice Wednesday.
It's a surprise after Thomas played the entire game last week. There's not going to be many updates on Thomas with this being the Saints. Thomas is a borderline WR1 if he plays against the Bucs.

Saints don't typically talk about injuries, but Wednesdays are often a day of rest for anyone banged up. Until I see an update today or tomorrow that he missed multiple practices, I'm not panicking.
Fortunately I've also got Snead, so while not an even swap it's not a bad substitute. The irony is that I traded for M.Thomas when Snead had a hurt foot. Worked out well.
Thomas played through it last week, which bodes well - he will probably be ok.

The Saints are arguably the league's most opaque team when it comes to injuries, but missing back-to-back practices is always an ominous sign. Thomas needs to get in at least a limited session on Friday to have a realistic shot at suiting up. Thomas will remain in the low-end WR1 mix if he can give it a go against Tampa. His absence would make Brandin Cooks a no-brainer WR1.

That's a great swap. I can start a second QB (and do virtually every week) but I had decided to bench Bortles, along with Alan Robinson. Now I think I have to go back to Bortles...or RGIII

Probably helps all Saints receivers, but in order I'd say it goes:
1. Snead
2. Fleener
3. Coleman
Brees trusts Snead - Coleman is likely to get a little bump if Thomas is out, but I don't see his role changing a ton - he's a boom or bust TD-dependent type.
One guy's opinion of course and I could be totally wrong. I just feel like the trust thing is big with Brees, and he seems to look for Snead as an early checkdown, especially if Cooks is doubled. Snead's targets took the biggest hit as Thomas started developing, so it stands to reason that Snead would be the biggest beneficiary of a Thomas absence.

FantasyPros has Thomas at WR13 this week, which IMO is craziness. There are easily 25-30 other names I'd put in ahead of him, especially given the late kickoff. Personally I'm sitting him for Malcolm Mitchell and not really agonizing over it.
Good news for those of you keeping the faith in him as this means he'll go for 130 and 2 TDs.

Having Michael Thomas and Julio with the 4:30 start makes contingency planning tough. Can backfill for one, but if both sit I guess it's not meant to be.

Only definitive answer we can get is if someone on here actually knows him or knows someone who knows him.
No way to tell. I am so on the fence about starting him or not. He's been a savior all season for me. Such a position. You start him, he lays a goose egg, or you don't start him, and he goes 7-100 and 2 TDs. HA!

Practiced today. No idea if full or limited.
I know that Arizona has a top-ranked pass D, but over the last month, they have allowed the 4th most points (using my league's scoring, which is pretty typical, non-PPR) to WRs. Peterson's no joke, but does he shadow Cooks?

Depends upon whether he gets the Patrick Peterson Shadow treatment. If he does, then he's maybe 3 for 40 yards. If not, he could have a big game. I have a suspicion that Cooks will get coverage from #21.
