WR Michael Wilson, ARZ (1 Viewer)

If Wilson balls out against the Texas Defense, which I doubt.
I'm sending this dude a Christmas present.

I'm feeling a 5-65 type game.. hope I'm wrong!
For that to happen he has to have half the targets he normally gets when Marvin is out.

I would put the floor as 8 for 80 this week.

Not hyperbole but no Marvin, only receivers I take over him are JSN, Puka, Lamb, and Chase.

While the matchup is tough, Brissett has attempted over 40 passes in 6 of 8 starts. No reason to believe Wilson can't get 6-7 receptions if MHJ is out.

Also, remember that HOU is coming off of a huge win at KC. This could easily be a trap game. I wouldn't be surprised is Brissett and the AZ passing game does better than people expect.

I think it all comes down to protecting Brissett. If they can figure out how to protect him just enough, Wilson should get his share, like you said. The question is whether they can do that. Meanwhile, HOU will undoubtedly pressure him. But it won't be the first team to try to do so. Other defenses have tried, and ARI has still been relatively successful throwing the ball.

ARI is 6th worst in sacks allowed. HOU is tied for 6th in sacks. Seems like a tough combination, but Brissett and ARI have been hot. Eight games averaging more than 300 yards passing per game, with multiple TD's in all but one of those 8 games. That said, this will be their toughest test.

I'm still starting Wilson where I can, and I'm cautiously optimistic. Not looking for a monster game, although I'd take one, obviously. If you told me he's getting 5-7 catches for 60+ yards, I think I'd take that. Anything more than that and/or a score is a bonus.

I'm planning on sitting Wilson this week because of the Houston defense and it being a Guillotine league (so my other options are Chase, JSN, ARSB, and Rice). But even then, I considered starting him since he's been on such a crazy run.

Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes both got smashed vs Houston in the past few weeks so we are all thinking Brissett is the one who cracks the code ?

Nope. But. Allen had 250 and Mahomes had 160. Even at 200 yards from Brissett, Wilson should get half of that. No code breaking. It's math. Ha ha

On top of that, Shakir had 8 catches for 110 yards on 10 targets in Allen’s game. And Brissett attempts passes at a significantly higher rate. I pointed out earlier a handful of other receivers have had good to great days against Houston this season as well. Given how consolidated the passes are to McBride and Wilson versus the other Cardinals targets, I think Wilson is still a worthwhile start as long as Harrison is out.

Im actually thinking of benching JJ for him this week. Not sure I can actually do it but it’s under consideration for this week. I can’t take a 1 or 2 point game week 1of the playoffs but I still am having a hard time even comprehending something like this

Man, if this is dynasty then this is not anything that you signed up for and I feel for you. I lived BTJ this year.

At first thought this feels like blasphemy, but is it? In a million dollar buy in league, is JJ the easy start over Wilson? That's a damn tough decision honestly. I think in the end I'd start JJ. I think. Stupid football. Ha ha

Actually keeper league

Rice was completely shut down on Sunday night vs Houston. I am very worried about Wilson. Will be playing him in a playoff game in 1 league because I have no other options.

The league I am stacked at WR/TE I am struggling since I have to pick from Wilson, Waddle, Jennings and Bowers for 2 spots. Bowers is in a bad matchup as well with Pickett as his QB but the last time I started Wilson over Bowers Wilson scored 6 pts and Bowers had 24. Jennings has best matchup but hard to see the massive upside the others have. McBride bad matchup but can't sit that dude. I already sat Evans so that was strike one.

Wheels up the next 2 weeks for Brissett assume he don't get broke in half this week.

There is a difference of play styles between Rice and Wilson. Wilson can be an absolute bully in tight coverage, which imo still gives him a chance to succeed against HOU. ARI has no run game and will need to throw to win (if that is even their goal at this point). No guarantees, but I have a couple spots I am starting Wilson and am not overly concerned,
