I’m not too worried
late week additions to the practice report are rarely a good thing, but you do you

yeah I think he's toast- think it's the injury plus he's undersized. Maybe 2025...Might cut him just so I’m never tempted to start him

Maybe the targets will roll over to 255 after next week's 0?Thought when Diggs was as done for the season Tank would take off.
Even when Nico came back thought teams would double him and Tank would be a great option.
However each game his catches go lower and lower.
Literally:
6,5,4,3,2,1 in his last 6 games.
And hurt.great
now he gets fed
some guys take 2 years to get over an ACL tear

BL, I think he broke his leg last year. This is now an ACL, most likely.

According to the NBC broadcast, #Texans WR Tank Dell was transported to University of Kansas Medical Center, an indication of the seriousness of care.
Yikes. Yeah, it looked very bad. There were a lot of guys who looked super shook on the field. Seems worse than just ACL or broken bone. I guess we’ll get an update but that had the look of a long recovery.Ian Rapoport

Too soon to make a Dan Campbell joke, or?Dislocated kneecap.
Jerry Rice cracked his kneecap once, that derailed a lot of the season for himDislocated kneecap.
Yeah I googled and it didn’t sound as bad as the reactions looked today. Hope the surrounding damage is minimalAs someone who's dislocated my kneecap multiple times, it sucks. But the real concern is what damage (if any) he has to the patella tendon, or potential ligament damage. If it's strictly just the kneecap then that's good news compared to the alternatives.
Just went through this. Kneecap dislocation is very ugly. It's gruesome to look at as it appears like there is major damage. Once they reset it, you can get back on your feet after the swelling subsides. There is a ligament that holds your kneecap to the femur called the MPFL. That is likely torn or severely stretched. Mine wasn't completely torn, but when they went in to remove "bodies" (cartilage/bone fragments), they went ahead and gave me a new MPFL while they were in there. Crutches/brace for a few months, but I'm not a pro-athlete who's job it is to rehab. As someone who's dislocated my kneecap multiple times, it sucks. ACL tear means hes likely out for most if not all of 2025 for all intensive purposes -DeMeco Ryans said in addition to Tank Dell dislocating his knee cap, he also tore his ACL and will miss the remainder of the year.

Given this news what what we looking at dynasty wise? Buy low or buyer beware?
I'm considering a buy low as I won't be contending next year in a deliberate rebuild so looking at 2026 for him...
I own in dynasty .. doubt anyone wants him. The Stroud owner is in a rebuild and took my Aiyuk earlier in the year, revisiting the well to see if he wants Tank now too.DeMeco Ryans said in addition to Tank Dell dislocating his knee cap, he also tore his ACL and will miss the remainder of the year.

I too own him in dynasty. Came in this thread to see what the consensus was. I think I'm going to sell (or try to atleast) on his 2026 potential. Maybe he comes back strong or maybe he doesn't.I own in dynasty .. doubt anyone wants him. Before the draft may have found a buyer for a later round pick, now I doubt anyone would touch him unless free on the waiver wire. I am holding in the only league I have him as it has decent size benches and a practice squad. Maybe next year he can beat out Noel for the slot spot but far from guaranteed.I too own him in dynasty. I think the Texans have showed their hand drafting the two Iowa St. guys about the severity of his injury. Definitely a sell imo.
Thanks. I see they've moved him to the reserve/PUP list today so he'll miss a minimum 4 games. He was put on the PUP back in July.

Texans' Tank Dell: Placed on PUP list Jul 23, 2025
The Texans placed Dell (knee) on the active/PUP list for the start of training camp, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Dell is unlikely to participate this summer, as he is coming back from MCL, LCL and ACL tears suffered Week 16 of last season. He'll likely miss a good chunk of the upcoming regular season, if not all of it. Dell had multiple surgeries this offseason, with the first in mid-January and the most recent in early March.
I don’t see any scenario where he’s back in 2025. He’s more likely to never play in the NFL again than he is to play this season.Thanks. I see they've moved him to the reserve/PUP list today so he'll miss a minimum 4 games. He was put on the PUP back in July.

That's my thoughts too but it doesn't cost anything for me to put him in my IR spot for now. If I need the spot for someone else it's an easy drop.I don’t see any scenario where he’s back in 2025. I've begrudgingly been holding on to this guy in several leagues (deep dynasties). This is good news indeed! Wonder if he'll play at all this year? I just figured it would be a good 2 years before we see him again.Heard on AM 610 on the way into work today that Tank Dell is running wind sprints at practice.
No cutting yet.
Willis McGahee missed an entire season and came back as a multi-time probowler after his knee injury. Maybe there is a little bit of hope.

I have him in a dynasty league in my IR spot and I am planning on holding(30 roster spots, i have worse prospects too). I dont think he plays this year. I dont even want him to, he needs to concentrate on next year, just like Willis.I've begrudgingly been holding on to this guy in several leagues (deep dynasties). This is good news indeed!
