some guys take 2 years to get over an ACL tear - we think it's automatic these days but everyone's body recovers differently (+ just having confidence in your body again)

I really hope this is due to his season ending injury last year and/or gun shot prior to season. Can't blame it all on the offensive line or Collins and Diggs wouldn't have shine. Big Tank fan and pulling for him.

Yikes. Yeah, it looked very bad. There were a lot of guys who looked super shook on the field. Seems worse than just ACL or broken bone. I guess we’ll get an update but that had the look of a long recovery.x.com

Some players are just unlucky, he got his leg broke while blocking on a running play, got shot for being unfortunately in the crossfire, now gets another serious injury as a result from a teammate’s unfortunate hit to his knee. Hopefully Dell has the best recovery possible. What a catch though, incredible for him to hold onto the ball, just amazing.

That was really gross. Was it a full dislocation or compound fracture? Anyone know? That protruding lump on his leg did not look good. Praying for the kid. He's been through more in 2 years than a lot of guys go through in an entire career.

Just went through this. Kneecap dislocation is very ugly. It's gruesome to look at as it appears like there is major damage. Once they reset it, you can get back on your feet after the swelling subsides. There is a ligament that holds your kneecap to the femur called the MPFL. That is likely torn or severely stretched. Mine wasn't completely torn, but when they went in to remove "bodies" (cartilage/bone fragments), they went ahead and gave me a new MPFL while they were in there. Crutches/brace for a few months, but I'm not a pro-athlete who's job it is to rehab.

Flying back to Houston per Ryans to review next step options. Noted he didn’t yet have surgery but I won’t speculate as to what all this means.
Sounds as if confirmation is dislocated knee cap, no surgery thus far, out indefinitely.
Hoping for him that means as good of news as possible.

I think the Texans have showed their hand drafting the two Iowa St. guys about the severity of his injury. Definitely a sell imo.
Before the draft may have found a buyer for a later round pick, now I doubt anyone would touch him unless free on the waiver wire. I am holding in the only league I have him as it has decent size benches and a practice squad. Maybe next year he can beat out Noel for the slot spot but far from guaranteed.I too own him in dynasty. It's cut day in my oddball dynasty league.
Short benches with 12 slots, but on cut day our commish has us go down to 8, including anyone on IR. After the draft, it can go back up to 12, and at that point guys on PUP and IR can be slid back into IR.
This I think is the commish's feeble attempt to create something resembling parity, because there is a Devy element to this too. In brief, everyone claims a college player in-season, so round 1 of our rookie/veteran draft probably looks like many round 2s of normal dynasty leagues--aside of course from having an uptick in frankly less-than-exciting veterans available.
Anyway. . . all that is to say . . . I CAN keep Dell on my roster, but only if I cut Dowdle, who was more than serviceable in Dallas. I've got Bijan, Mixon, Quinshon, and Rhamondre ahead of him.
I guess it all boils down to whether Dell is worth holding through basically two of these miserable cut day cycles just to find out if he can still be effective.

I'm still holding. But my leagues have deeeep rosters. I think he's a coach/fan favorite so will be given every opportunity to show he's healthy. However, it will take a while. WIth your RB depth, depending on the talent or your WRs, he may be worth holding onto in place of Dowdle. But if you have good WR depth, yeah...I'd probably cut him.

Texans' Tank Dell: Placed on PUP list Jul 23, 2025
The Texans placed Dell (knee) on the active/PUP list for the start of training camp, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Dell is unlikely to participate this summer, as he is coming back from MCL, LCL and ACL tears suffered Week 16 of last season. He'll likely miss a good chunk of the upcoming regular season, if not all of it. Dell had multiple surgeries this offseason, with the first in mid-January and the most recent in early March.

That's my thoughts too but it doesn't cost anything for me to put him in my IR spot for now. If I need the spot for someone else it's an easy drop.

I've begrudgingly been holding on to this guy in several leagues (deep dynasties). This is good news indeed! Wonder if he'll play at all this year? I just figured it would be a good 2 years before we see him again.

I have him in a dynasty league in my IR spot and I am planning on holding(30 roster spots, i have worse prospects too). I dont think he plays this year. I dont even want him to, he needs to concentrate on next year, just like Willis.
