yesThe old "it's a sprain" report. A torn ACL is a sprain, too...![]()
At least it's good news that they didn't say torn ACL and to confirm on Monday. When it is serious like that it usually comes out quick.
Thanks Zyphros for being right on this one. I dont think people ever give enough credit when credit is due, rather theyd rather dig up wrong posts and comment how "this didnt age well"No matter how bad my DFS lineups go or my season long record sucks, or if my team loses, I get solace knowing I was right on Preston Williams. I'm perfectly happy calling it a career.
The good calls always outshine the bad ones, and boy have I had some bad ones.
I needed a win last night sorry for the self gloat haThanks Zyphros for being right on this one. I dont think people ever give enough credit when credit is due, rather theyd rather dig up wrong posts and comment how "this didnt age well"
Good call on this. Just had a talk with my buddy this weekend as he didnt k ow who Williams was until I offered him in a trade (then traded for him back after he had his bad preseason week/s, a move he continues to comment how much he regrets it)
Preston Williams (knee) will undergo an MRI on Monday.
He went down with a right knee injury late in Sunday's win over the Jets. Williams was having a breakout game before he got hurt, contributing five grabs for 72 yards and two touchdowns on nine targets from Ryan Fitzpatrick. Among rookie receivers, only DK Metcalf (525), Terry McLaurin (497) and A.J. Brown (429) have compiled more yards than Williams (428) this year. If the 22-year-old misses time, it would free up targets for DeVante Parker, Mike Gesicki and Albert Wilson, among others.

I know the depth chart is bad, but Preston Williams is on-pace for 64/850/6. The list of WRs to do that in their rookie years over the last 8 seasons...
- Michael Thomas
- A. Cooper
- Odell
- Kelvin Benjamin
- Mike Evans
- Jordan Matthews
- Sammy Watkins
- Keenan Allen

Coach Brian Flores confirmed Dolphins WR Preston Williams (knee) will miss the remainder of the 2019 season.
Flores added, "It's a big loss for us. I talked to him (Williams) this morning. He's done an incredible job. Came to us as a free agent and has really grown the last six, seven months. I was devastated for the kid." Williams was electric during the entire preseason and quickly earned a starting job, ultimately posting a season-long 32-428-3 line on 60 targets. The rookie saved his best performance for last, racking up 72 yards and a pair of touchdowns against the Jets in Week 9. Williams' absence cements DeVante Parker as the Dolphins' No. 1 WR, while the likes of Albert Wilson, Allen Hurns and Jakeem Grant should see more targets moving forward.

Did this happen on a punt return? Jeez, why????Flores is being second guessed for putting a 6' 5" wr on PR, after after speedy Jakeem Grant was cleared to play.
Yep.....no reason he should have been returning punts.Did this happen on a punt return? Jeez, why????
Well aside from the fact that, you know, football players play football.Yep.....no reason he should have been returning punts.
Preston Williams is not built to return punts. His strengths are in pass routes and size at the catch point. The Dolphins have plenty of other options for punt returns that are better suited. It was an undue risk for one of their playmakers of the future.Well aside from the fact that, you know, football players play football.
The best comp is Brandon Marshall. Size, strength, routes and decent speed.Preston Williams is not built to return punts. His strengths are in pass routes and size at the catch point. Did it happen while being hit/tackled? If not, then it could have happened on any play.Preston Williams is not built to return punts. His strengths are in pass routes and size at the catch point. What?? C'mon Otis. 3 year contract. So disappointing. And sucks for a kid who was a FA and was on his way to huge things and getting paid. Unfortunately now he doesn’t get paid, and this really derails his career. Really sucks. Hoping he can come back 100% next season and get the payday he deserves.
You mean Brandon Marshall the prolific punt returner? The best comp is Brandon Marshall. Size, strength, routes and decent speed.
What are the details of this lucrative 3 year contract? What?? C'mon Otis. 3 year contract.
Google is your friend Unless there is a point you are trying to make, which I've missed. What are the details of this lucrative 3 year contract?
Even if they address WR, it's not like any other WR on that team is going to stop Preston Williams from being the #2 at worst. He's either the #1 (if they don't add a WR, or a complimentary WR), or the #2 if they add a dominant WR.The bright side is that he can't lose value absent an off the field issue, and we are very excited about what he has shown thus far. If Miami gets a QB in the offseason and don't make a big splash at WR, Preston could be an offseason darling.
We will post his on pace numbers and speculate about what he will do with Tua or Burrow throwing him passes combined with it being year 2.
Could easily be that player whose value runs away in the offseason, like DJ Moore this past offseason.
Who said anything about lucrative? The guy wasn't going to get a big contract yet, like every other rookie WR he'll have to wait 4-5 years for that. He's got plenty of time to get healthy and get back out there and show what he's worth. What are the details of this lucrative 3 year contract?
I think the point was this kid was lining up to make millions for a long time, not the league minimum for three years. That’s now in jeopardy.kodycutter said:Google is your friend Unless there is a point you are trying to make, which I've missed.
I think it's a good idea to get him now.Anyone going to try and buy in dynasty?
