I wasn’t too busy, but it was still a tough call. The information was all over the place. Snap count. Vegas likes that moved to low yardage. Both positive and negative news. I don’t think anyone expected this involvement so I wouldn’t kick myself for sitting him. (I sat him and Stafford stack in superflex)Wish I wasn’t busy in meetings all afternoon to have some time to REALLY think about this but, at a glance, I thought he was too risky to start him so I kept him on my bench in 2 leagues, to use this as a “prove it” week.
Um, I think he proved it.
I mean, it's not like he forgot how to play football in the last couple months. You can still watch tape and read the playbook when you're on the IR.So he had to be getting reps on the sly right? This feels like a circumventing of the injury report
Agree. Just a lunch pail player. Good hands, very little wasted movement, gets extra yards. One of my favorites to watch play. Hard to believe he was such a late pick in the draft coming out.He is such a fun player to watch
With you on this. However, Sig Bloom has been mentioning recently that teams seem to be getting more on board with letting players heal more fully before putting them back out there as opposed to putting 80%ers out there for God awful decoy/dud weeks.I didn’t start him and in hindsight I still wouldn’t start him. 9 out of 10 times this would be a dud and we’ve been burned way too many times with TNF and injury shenanigans. Starting going forward though. The real head scratcher was the Vikings defense being an absolute joke lol
I posted in the Nacua thread that the Vikings were ranked 32nd in FF points allowed to Wide Receivers and it was go time last nightI didn’t start him and in hindsight I still wouldn’t start him. 9 out of 10 times this would be a dud and we’ve been burned way too many times with TNF and injury shenanigans. I understand your POV, I'm not a fan of starting guys coming off injury in their 1st week back, however...Nacua IMHO was not injured badly and I was surprised it took this long
Feel similar about Nico Collins, a month and he barely limped off the field with the hammy issue
When you have a juicy match up I think always best to jump and not 2nd guess a stud type at WR vs the weakest secondary going at the moment
We've all been there before and gotten burned decided to play it safe and keep your stud benched only to see them go off or be the difference maker and you lost that week's matchup. I'd rather start a stud and he doesn't perform than bench him and he goes off. Only way I would bench is if your starters are clear cut studs themselves. Not lesser tier players with a better matchup but studs who are considered comparable to the player you are sitting.I posted in the Nacua thread that the Vikings were ranked 32nd in FF points allowed to Wide Receivers and it was go time last nightI didn’t start him and in hindsight I still wouldn’t start him. 9 out of 10 times this would be a dud and we’ve been burned way too many times with TNF and injury shenanigans. I think Vikings aren't as good as they are and played way over their heads and caught many teams by surprise. While they aren't a bottom feeder type team as most experts predicted before the season no way they are as good as their record. Paper Tiger. In 3 of their prior 4 games they've given up 29, 31 and 30 points. That won't stop. Every year at least a few teams will start off hot during the first 1/4 of the season and end up not making the postseason or limp in and the Vikings are definitely near the top of my list. Been fading them hard.I didn’t start him and in hindsight I still wouldn’t start him. 9 out of 10 times this would be a dud and we’ve been burned way too many times with TNF and injury shenanigans. I’m not going to be at all surprised if he’s top 5. Top 12 is a given to me-I’m expecting better tbh. He looked fantastic last night.Top 12 ROS??
He looked alot more fluid than Kupp did (who did his thing---> but it was a lot tighter windows, etc)
Plus bye week is over which is a bonus. I am going to see what I can get in a trade for him. You could easily argue his value is greater than Nico Collins ROS who will still miss games AND has bye week. Not saying I'd trade Nico for him but shows I think many are still undervaluing him. I don't think that will be the case after their next game.I’m not going to be at all surprised if he’s top 5. Top 12 is a given to me-I’m expecting better tbh. I have Puka and Nico in my main dynasty league so you can understand my giddiness for the rest of the seasonPlus bye week is over which is a bonus. After i saw what Puka did last night and watching Hall and the Jets a few times i think i'd prefer to have Puka.Just got a trade offer immediately for my Puka and Brooks for their Breece Hall. I have to accept that right?
He didn’t look 100%, but as good as he was, I was definitely wondering if the rams were intentionally slow playing it to throw off the vikes planningMaybe they weren’t.Minn seems like they really weren't prepared for him to play.
Very few details from practice this week. Stories of optimism and limited snap count.
The Rams definitely did a good job of keeping us all in the dark a bit.
I love Puka he’s really the perfect player for a .5ppr and .5pfd. I only have Nabers, Worthy, Legette and Pearsall and my backs are Kyren, Bigsby Tracy, Brooks, Allgeier, Warren and Davis. After i saw what Puka did last night and watching Hall and the Jets a few times i think i'd prefer to have Puka.Just got a trade offer immediately for my Puka and Brooks for their Breece Hall. Maybe accept it if you're very weak at RB and loaded at WR.
Needless to say, the fantasy boards were in an uproar over the "snap count" news for Nacua. Nacua was in practically the whole 1st and 2nd drive and only started getting regular snaps off the 2nd half. Only 2 less snaps than Kupp (40 snaps), and targeted on 40.9% of those snaps is insane.Puka Nacua caught 7-of-9 targets for 106 yards in the Rams’ Week 8 win over the Vikings.
Active for the first time since Week 1 and actually healthy for the first time since early August, Nacua went from a potential snap count to rampaging for his eighth career 100-yard effort in the regular season. He out-targeted fellow returnee Cooper Kupp just 9-8, but out-gained him 106-51. Naturally, it was Kupp who found the end zone on an otherwise forgettable night where he committed a drop and accidentally went out of bounds late. Looking unguardable and definitely no worse for the wear following his multi-month absence, Nacua seems ready to re-join the WR1 ranks ahead of Week 9 against the Seahawks.

Agree with this mindset.forgot to post his on Thursday:

I would.Just got a trade offer immediately for my Puka and Brooks for their Breece Hall. I have to accept that right?
Sort of depends on the lineups, scoring system, etcI would.Just got a trade offer immediately for my Puka and Brooks for their Breece Hall. I have to accept that right?
No way. Come on.Rams WR Puka Nacua was scheduled for his weekly press conference today, but was not able to do it because he left practice with a knee injury, per a team official. He will be listed as “limited” on the injury report. McVay next speaks tomorrow.

That's how it begins. Then he misses the game. Then he's week to week. Then he's on IR and will return in December the way this year is going.
You forgot to add that if he plays it will be a last minute decisions and half of us will start him and half of us won’t and this thread will be filled with “I told ya so’s”That's how it begins. Then he misses the game. Then he's week to week. Then he's on IR and will return in December the way this year is going.
Or he plays this week and goes 10-165-2.
Was able to unload him for Brian Thomas straight up in a dynasty league. I love the talent, but his injury history and style of play make it difficult to bet on him long term. Also, I wouldn’t be shocked if this was Stafford’s last year playingYou will always have to worry about Puka's health. He has had ton of injuries throughout college and the NFL thus far.
He's a risk but the reward is worth it.
