28 targets, 14.3% drop rate. Not sure where that ranks league wide but it seems high.

I'll take guys who get open but have a few drops vs guys who can't get openHe had a high drop rate in college and preseason too. Apparently THATS his issue.
WR RASHEE RICE, KANSAS CITY CHIEFS VS. CB MICHAEL DAVIS, LOS ANGELES CHARGERS
Kansas City head coach Andy Reid has quietly groomed second-round rookie wide receiver Rashee Rice (81.0 PFF receiving grade) for the No. 1 role, and de facto X-wide receiver Justin Watson’s (65.1 PFF receiving grade) Week 6 elbow dislocation creates an opportunity. Rice is startable as a points-per-reception WR2.
The game’s 48.5-point FanDuel over/under is Week 7’s second highest. FanDuel implies Kansas City to score 27.0 points.
PFF’s OL/DL matchup chart gives Kansas City a 24.0% pass-blocking matchup advantage rating, fifth best on the week.
Rice transitioned from a 57.7% pre-snap alignment slot rate in Weeks 1-5 to a 33.3% rate across all three pre-snap positions following Watson’s injury. Fantasy managers should expect similarly diverse pre-snap alignments this week, with special attention paid to No. 2 perimeter cornerback Michael Davis (28.8 PFF perimeter wide receiver coverage grade).
Among 64 NFL perimeter cornerbacks with at least 50 perimeter coverage snaps, Davis ranks outside the top 50 in targeted rate (36.5%), catch rate allowed (71.4%), yards allowed per coverage snap (3.27) and explosive pass plays allowed rate (7.3%). No. 1 cornerback Asante Samuel Jr.‘s(81.6 PFF perimeter wide receiver coverage grade) respective 30.4%, 64.3%, 2.46 and 4.3% rates rank 29th or worse.
Among 34 NFL slot cornerbacks with at least 30 slot coverage snaps, Ja’Sir Taylor’s (33.7 PFF slot coverage grade) 1.63 yards allowed per coverage snap ranks 20th and his 5.6% explosive pass plays allowed rate ranks 29th.
Rice has quietly amassed 18 first-read targets, trailing only tight end Travis Kelce’s (89.1 PFF receiving grade) 30 among Kansas City pass-catchers.
The keys to Rice’s impending successes are his first-read, over-the-middle targets. Among 24 NFL wide receivers with at least 25 such receiving snaps and 15 such targets, Rice’s 57.7% first-read, over-the-middle target rate ranks first, his 5.77 yards per route run and 7.7 yards after the catch per reception rank third, his three missed tackles forced ties for eighth and his four explosive pass plays ties for No. 12.
Rice is quietly a top-24 PPR wide receiver in Week 7.
There is for sure a world where he slowly becomes a consistent WR2 for fantasy. The other WRs in KC are pretty clearly not reliable. Rice has been flashing, certainly more than Moore did as a rookie. It is likely just a matter of fully earning the trust.Andy Reid always feeds his rookie receivers bits and pieces. I REALLY like Rice.
I think his time is coming this year and beyond.
He just moves differently out there. You can see the suddenness on the release from that video a bit upthread. And the screen on 3rd and 20 none of those other guys have that burst at his size. It’s so obvious he’s different from them. Can’t wait to see what the future holds for him.
Has limited upside
No, I think for rest of regular season. That's just how KC rolls. They have a rotation of receivers and packages and I don't think that's gonna change.Has limited upside
For now. It's not even been 8 games.
Rashee Rice ran a season-high 30 routes in the Chiefs’ Week 7 win over the Chargers.
This is the closest we’ve come to Rice playing as the Chiefs’ WR1. While he was Narrowly out-snapped by Marquez Valdes-Scantling (47) and Skyy Moore (41), Rice ran the second-most routes of any Chiefs receiver and was second in targets behind only Travis Kelce (13). Currently rostered in only 58 percent of Yahoo leagues, Rice is fast approaching WR3 status if his playing time continues to grow. Sunday’s win over the Chargers marked only the third time Rice has run 20 or more routes this season.
It sure seems like a nice solid breakout is happeningHe's been at the end of my bench for most of the season
He was very productive on 6 targets to gain 90 yds and a TD,
This isn't his 1st decent game of the year, he's been hitting double digits but just around the 10-12 mark
Last 3 games 4/33/TD, 4/72 and now 6/90/TD
Solid 13-14 a week in PPR leagues, he's starting to become a guy you want out there at least in Flex spots
I am hoping he keeps it up and is a nice bye week replacement in the coming weeksGoing to start him over Godwin and Lockett as my WR3. Fingers crossed!
Rashee Rice played on 36-of-60 snaps in the Chiefs’ Week 8 loss to the Broncos.
Travis Kelce was the only skill player with more snaps (51) than Rice on the day. Rice’s five targets were second to only Kelce, but he still turned in a solid 4/56 line despite limited opportunities. Rice had been trending in this direction for the last several weeks, but still has a lot of room left to go as far as snaps are concerned. Rice has been the only receiver on the Chiefs to offer consistent production through the first eight weeks of the season. He should continue to earn more opportunities going forward and is on the radar as a WR3 in Week 9 against the Dolphins.
Been hearing this for weeks nowHe’s a player his usage is bizarre. Way better than these scrubs. It’ll happen.
I didn’t say it would be this year!Been hearing this for weeks nowHe’s a player his usage is bizarre. Way better than these scrubs. It’ll happen.

#Chiefs came out of bye & again declined to expand Rashee Rice's role. Route rate by week:
Week 1: 26%
Week 2: 13%
Week 3: 58%
Week 4: 47%
Week 5: 23%
Week 6: 51%
Week 7: 65% (Justin Watson out, Hardman in)
Week 8: 60% (Justin Watson back)
Week 9: 57%
Week 10: BYE
Week 11: 52%
If the Chiefs won, maybe it spreads. I think their loss (and some key drops) leans more towards needing a go-to WR to compliment Kelce in the passing game. Rice, of course, is the guy they should plug into that spot and let ‘er rip! #RiceOwnerThis was the best hope for a week of increased usage, but since they are now post bye, Most likely only injury will increase usage. Oh well this WRBC hopefully doesn't spread to the rest of copycat NFL.
It's only took ALL their WRs and McKinnon to get hurt to finally use this guy.
He sits on the end of my bench, woulda been nice when I had to start him on bye weeks if he woulda popped one of theseIt's only took ALL their WRs and McKinnon to get hurt to finally use this guy.
And you did not, amirite.
On Watson's touchdown they were in the RZ and he was covered by the LB. I think Watson's success is due to drawing mismatches like that. Not sure Rice does the same which is why he may not be in some RZ packages. Was he actually in the game when they are within the 10 this week? I was so sickened by watching the Chiefs play Moore, MVS and Watson over him near the end zone last Monday that I traded him for Flowers. And I was happy seeing Flowers on the field in the red zone tonight.

We'll talk about it tonight on SvF
But we aren't seeing anything *new* from Rashee Rice in terms of legit intermediate/downfield routes (outside of the final sideline back shoulder, that was nice)
He's simply being featured more, in areas where he already wins
which is great!
