WR Tetairoa McMillan, CAR (4 Viewers)

Another guy that I'm hoping Waldman is wrong about. Steve Smith seems to be coming around on him after being pretty tepid during the draft process. Fantasypros couldn't be more bullish. Opinions all over the board, but it seems like an encouraging start.

Got on board this morning for the admission price of Skattebo and Kincaid. Used the free roster spot to nab Coker as a bit of insurance. Giddy up.
Waldman is definitely wrong and it wouldn’t be the 100th time

QJ for Tet straight trade in a Full Point PPR league. Folks are getting on the QJ wagon?
Which QJ, UL?
If its Quentin - I can't think of a situation I wouldn't want Tet over him. Judkins? I am holding Judkins. He looks like the best RB and going to get a workload. That performance against the Packers gave every Judkins owner hope.
My bad. QJ the WR.
I think I'd rather hold Tet but that could change this weekend.

Think you gotta go with your instincts and what's gonna sting less if it doesn't go your way.

I would easily keep Tet. I know that the situation is not great in Carolina right now, but the guy is amazing. He is maybe my favorite player to watch in the league at the moment. So much talent, he can dominate by himself. I don’t think you can say the same about Quentin Johnston, even though he is starting to come on.

Folks are falling for the hot start and QJ’s QB. Imagine Tet with JH as his QB.

Huh. Interesting.

I got Tet in a pricey 14 teamer and so each asset has a tendency to be more precious.

I must admit that in this case, pundit and podcaster hype steered my decision to draft a player, because I really don't watch much NCAA.

And I have to admit I'm just not seeing it. He may be as talented as advertised, but Bryce Young isn't doing what I was told he would be doing, which is locking onto one receiver like crazy and turning a guy like semi-washed Theilen into a must start for awhile last year.

Now Tet's dinged up too?

When's the production going to match the talent? Is the hype more about dynasty?

In brief, I wanted to start him over BTJr. this week, but the trick hammy(or is it a calf? The forerunner to a bad achilles?) and head-slapping QB situation gives me pause. And yeah, makes me think that a Quentin J trade might be a better move if this weekend is more ho hum from Tet.

I kinda disagree with all of this. McMillan looks awesome. Like OROY frontrunner awesome. His health doesn't seem like a real issue, he missed a Wednesday practice (which are essentially meaningless) and was out there Thursday and Friday.

He's 7th in targets in the NFL, in the 1st 3 games of his career. 14th in receiving yards, and that's counting a VERY RARE game where the Panthers won in a blowout and stopped passing in the 2nd half, which is the opposite of the normal game script. He's been unlucky to not catch a TD yet, but neither have much higher drafted guys like Puka, London, Thomas, or Lamb.

McMillan is a buy-low right now in my opinion. A clear top-20 WR, who is only scratching the surface of his upside. I won't argue with starting Brian Thomas over him (ideally there would be room for both) but McMillan has been absolutely worth the pick he was drafted with, and its very likely this is his floor.

I agree 100%. People love to throw out how they don’t see the talent on here like they are nfl scouts. NFL scouts miss all the time too so it’s a pointless comment to make. Justin Jefferson didn’t do squat until week 3 his rookie year. McMillan is a must start in my opinion

Trust me I want to be wrong.

But at some point I'll have to be disproven. With production.

Is that coming? When? I'm not getting any points for talent boners.
If you drafted any of TMac, Golden, Hunter, or Egbuka in rounds 4 or 5 you were doing so not so much for the first half of the season, but the second half.

Not realistic for them to hit the ground running as a rookie.

The hope is that he's helping you win a championship in a few weeks.

I don't get it! How come this rookie WR isn't putting up numbers right off the bat, after being drafted by the Panthers, and having Bryce Young as his QB??

It must be the rookies fault. He must be a bust.

I see we need some qualifiers to withstand the snark storm.

If you drafted Tet to be a starter--and believe it or not some of us did--then you are hemorrhaging points and I'd make this deal if you can. But it's unlikely that anyone would.

If you are in dynasty, or drafted Tet as a bench stash so you could wait until he's done marinating, maybe you hold. But again, the trade is probably moot anyway, because for some reason a lot of people I play with like points.

It doesn't matter whose fault it is. It doesn't matter if he's the second coming of Bruce Lee I'm Hard Muhammed Ali.

There isn't even garbage time in this mess. Just garbage.

It's a fantasy football forum. Nobody cares who, what, where or why. They care about the final stats.

Bummer. The ones with no interest in the 'Why' are missing out.

I want to know if the guy i drafted sucks, and I made a mistake, or if it's the situation.

In the first example, let's call him Kaleb Johnson (just for funsies), I want to know what i missed. In the second example, let's call him TMac, I want to know what i was thinking counting on Bryce Young or the Carolina organization

A no show again in the 2nd half

What do you expect? He is a rookie in a bad offense and has unlucky game scripts.
The game scripts should be in his favor with Carolina behind and forced to throw. He should be feasting in the second half of games

Should, but they haven't. They were up three scores on the Falcons all game and the Dolphins were allowing over 8 yards a carry before the last drive of the game, plus there was no garbage time against New England because that game was trying reach. Plus he is a rookie, they have ups and downs and usually have to learn to be consistent all game and week to week.

Zero TDs is alarming. Either the coaches aren't being creative w him around the goal line or he can't create space. Idk cause Carolina is never on TV here.

I was happy with the clear step forward in usage today.

Any tendency for Young to keep targeting and building rapport is very encouraging imo, even tho if we keepin it a buck, he a$$
