WR Tetairoa McMillan, CAR (6 Viewers)

Jacob Gibbs
Highest percentage of team receiving first downs:

44% - Jaxon Smith-Njigba
41% - Ja'Marr Chase
37% - Amon-Ra St. Brown
36% - Rome Odunze
36% - Puka Nacua
35% - Tetairoa McMillan
34% - DeVonta Smith

Carolina Panthers rookie Tetairoa McMillan is on this list with the best receivers in the NFL

And in Week 8, his first-read target rate (44% - new season-high) finally matched them.

Every time I watch a full game of routes run for Tetairoa McMillan, I see a "run the offense through me" WR1

His wins look easy and decisive.

I have 1 share of this dude (redraft) and his timing is trash. My worst WR BYE week and he pulls up lame on a Friday?
:wall:

One of my IDP dudes went on IR this morning so at least I could pick up Calvin Austin as a WR3 if Tet can’t go.

The WR they elevated is a special teams gunner who is a replacement for Tremayne on special teams. They didn’t elevate Renfrow, which bodes well for his availability.

Chase and Rice on a BYE and now this, great news
Exactly. Lamb & Rice for me. Gah!

Also I had lamb and rice for lunch today. 🤔
The Food Group lineup

QB Baker Mayfield
WR CeeDee Lamb
WR Rashee Rice
RB James Cook
RB Julius Chestnut
TE Feleipe Franks
Flex C.J. Ham
K Tyler Bass

More calories than fantasy points but yeah!
Is this an Uber Eats/NFL ad?

(that ad campaign is pretty good imo)

ETA some fantasy content: benching Tet (in my 1 FFPC dynasty league where I roster him) for Hunter Henry (TE premium scoring)

Would you start a gimpy Tet (assuming he plays) or Austin III in prime time?

Did you know that Cousins full name is in fact, Kirkland Cousins?

The plot thickens.

Afraid of late week injuries like this so I might go with Austin’s 8-9 points over Tet’s possible goose egg if he tweaks it again early.

But I have no clue what the hell I’m doing this year so don’t listen to me.

A brand you can trust...

Wish Bryce Young would tweak his hammy. How has he not been permanently benched yet? I'd like to see Dalton play a few games to see what the offense has. Not that Dalton is the answer, but Young can't throw unless he SEES the WR open. No anticipation.

Dalton looked worse than Bryce the one game he played. Father time may have caught up to him.

Idk. He got dealt a bad hand playing Buffalo where the game script got lopsided pretty quick. But Tet got fed like a WR1 that game.

I smell a decoy......

McMillan is a great talent, but the Panthers are one of the more run-heavy teams, and they’re playing at home against the talent-depleted Saints with Tyler Shough at QB. I can foresee a situation where the Panthers simply don’t have to pass a lot. Couple that with Tet’s injury, and I’d avoid starting him if possible.

The worst part for me is I have him in two leagues where you don’t get incremental points. You have to hit milestones in yards to get points. TD’s are king. He would be killing it on a better offensive team.

Tangent: I was in this type of league a couple of decades ago with old friends, pushed for rule changes to have more “normal” incremental points, I was out voted, so I left the league.

I have Tet in 1 dynasty league and he’s performing really well for a rookie and is a flex starter almost every week. My hopes are high for this kid.

I LOVE my weird scoring leagues. I’m also in a pretty standard yahoo half ppr league as well. It’s my least favorite by a lot. To each their own I guess

I traded for him last week on a dynasty team of mine, was the first move of a rebuild, gave Mahomes and Deebo. Obviously it's only been a week but I could not feel any better about that trade.

I have him on three dynasty teams now and tbh I was not even a huge fan of his entering the league, just ok on him. The other two other drafts I just happened to have picks in the middle first and he was my BPA. But I really like what I've seen from him and excited for his future and what he's going to do for my teams.

Same. It would be pretty ironic if I end up getting burned by him considering I was fading him as much as anyone during the offseason, but I have no concern. I came to the conclusion very late in the process (just before our August rookie draft) that I needed to put him ahead of Hunter and all his potential for unique fantasy WR headaches in a non-IDP. Went against the grain (slightly) passing on Tetairoa for Egbuka at the 1.5. When the guy at 1.7 made a comment that made me think he was begrudgingly taking him, I made note and circled back for him a couple weeks into the season. I will be disappointed if we don't get one crooked stat line this year (8+ receptions, TD, 100+yds), but he has been consistent in not so fertile fantasy fields and I think he's a really safe bet going forward.
