WR Xavier Worthy, KC (3 Viewers)

Top 15 WR next year?
Some games for sure. Deeper leagues where you can flex 2-3 WRs then I'd love to have him. But as others said, once Rice is back Rice will be the first look. At the end of last year and the start of this season, Rice was averaging 10 targets a game. He was the first look almost every rep and was uncoverable. Having said that Worthy looks the part and if he can keep improving should have good season next year. My only question is can he do it game in and game out when Rice is there.

No doubt Worthy has a chance to put up multiple TDs any given game and win you the week. Consistency is what worries me just a bit. I'd love to have him on my team but he might be too expensive in redraft once August comes.

From Week 11 on including the postseason (10 games) he put up 58/679/6 on 76 targets, adding 75/1 on the ground.

Solid catch percentage...although those thinking Rashee syphons some of the screen action away from X are likely right. But this is a bet I would make in 2025.

I'm not sure how much of Rice we will see in 2025, given the injury and looming suspension. So I'll probably be pretty high on Worthy in redraft. We may have to wait until 2026 to see what the Rice/Worthy dynamic really looks like.
Have to monitor the injury and suspension stuff for sure but Rice did get 85 targets in basically his last 9 games played. When he was on the field Rice was the #1 target, first look and was the hot read more often than not. Worthy definitely played well and will earn/deserve more targets but I still believe Rice is the #1 when he's on the field. The one thing Worthy has going for him is the do script a few special plays for him each game. they know he is a weapon and Andy Reid loves a special play every now and then. Worthy is a threat to house it at anytime. Good player but how expensive will he be come redraft time? The good thing is maybe as Kelce phases out, Rice can get the possession stuff and Worthy can be the big play guy. At least he is with a good QB that can make the big throws when needed.

Could both Rice and Worthy be top 20 WRs? maybe....

Chiefs know how to pick em.
Very low moral fiber franchise.
KC is 100% about winning. Nothing else matters. That’s not necessarily a bad thing.
I get it, it just keeps them being so easy to root against. The 2 Super Bowls I most enjoyed this decade were Phi/KC and TB/KC.

Always remember Bill Parcells quote from the 90s, "If Hannibal Lecter ran a 4.3, we'd say he had an eating disorder"

PR statement from Worthy's lawyers:

"We are aware of the allegation that led to Mr. Worthy's arrest. We are working with law enforcement in Williamson County to ensure they have the benefit of the totality of circumstances that led to this allegation. The complainant was recently asked to vacate Mr. Worthy's residence upon discovery of her infidelity. She has refused to do so and made a number of extortive efforts prior to resorting to this baseless allegation against Mr. Worthy. We will continue to cooperate with the Williamson County authorities as we have full faith that their thorough investigation will support Mr. Worthy's innocence."

Never mind.........

"Authorities have declined to press charges against Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy, per the Austin American-Statesman."

@AdamSchefter
Yay
That’s nuts. She showed signs of strangulation.

It’s insane that charges haven’t been pressed. NFL, man. The talent ~> knucklehead chart of legality is undefeated.

Doesn't sound that way at all. Doesn't sound like they had any evidence of that. In fact, Worthy has claimed she assaulted him, and police had already come out at his request (he says he declined to press charges). There are some crazy people out there, including athletes. Stuff like this happens.

Also, the DA isn't accepting the case "at this time" because of third-party testimony and the cooperation of Worthy with the investigation per the Austin-American Statesman.

Oh - my bad. The original report I read he was arrested for “impeding her breathing or circulation”, which sounds a lot like strangulation. :shrug
“on a charge of assault against a family or household member by impeding their breathing or circulation“

Weird that they arrested him & called her the victim, given the added context.

Ah well. Not my circus, not my peanuts.

Declined to press charges…thus far. Living in the area, the sheriff in the county does not play around.

No one here is surprised that he was taken in if it remotely happened. Now the question is whether they lessen what they do eventually charge or drop it outright.

If i was a pro athlete, I'd have security cameras covering every inch of my home.

Maybe he was smart enough to do the same and was immediately able to disprove her story

This is the correct response.
