I think you snagged great value with Jacobs and Lee Evans. I think Welker and Agonzo are considerable risk, not to mention the Falcon bye week.

I think Agonz was a risk worth taking (unlike Welker)........now whether both of them should be on the same team, well.......

Many thanks to jeff for covering me while I was away.

Going for quantity at WR since the quality lacks.

Was listening to a radio show on the way home today and word is that Martz has "learned his lesson". Regardless, I've got Cutler and will make up any lost production there. Note the last WR pick too!

Like this squad and I got a feeling I got something in Edelman unless NE adds another WR. Welker hasnt even had surgery on his knee yet after tearing 2 ligaments.

Favre is coming back, bet on it. I expect to have max points at that spot every week.

My top3 RBs should score well enough.

While my draft may be sucking hind tittie, you may have the whole tail pipe engulfed. Maybe a weak QB1 at best. Not much at RB2. While I like the overall talent of your WRs, they do have the tendency to disappear at times. Not real high on the wounded soldier. Either you of the Cooley owner hit a homerun, the other struck out.

QB - Roethlisberger 4.3

Really like the value at RB grabbing several guys later and most of them are soild pass receiving options. Notably Slaton and L Washington are coming off injuries, but like their potential especially taken late like they were.

Also like the depth already at WR. Really like White's success in 09 even with Gonzo there and expect better performance from Ryan in 2010. Hope that Boldin is traded, but like him anywhere. Mason may retire, but if not he is solid in the 8th round. Added depth with Burleson and go deep target Devery Henderson.

Curious as to how much of a discount you think you got Mason at and what % do you as well as the community put on his return.Personally I drop him about 4 rounds and have him at roughly 60/40 retire/return.

Derrick Mason in FBG scoring (non-ppr) over the past five years has finished 24th, 49th, 20th, 22nd, and 17th. Since I got him at WR53, I would think that is extremely good value if he plays.

I have no in-sight, but have hear coaches indicate that they definitely wanted him back. His retirement last season came immediately after Steve McNair's death so he may be less inclined to retire this off-season than last.

No points for second place Hook.
Shockingly enough, Lhucks makes a solid point here. Looking at my team and the others, I'm looking at a mediocrity at best. There are several teams that made risky moves that will pan out since they loaded up elsewhere. Several RB2 in the 5-7th will put up RB1 numbers. Guys like Favre, Mason, Gonzo will handsomly reward a few owners with huge value. Some of these teams will totally flame out, others will be contenders. Probable the best strategy in a 16 deep league with experienced owners.

Solid team. I would like it alot better w/o Gates in the first. I think you overpaid relative to where some other TEs went when you consider the potentail you gave up at WR.Moss+Cooley+Heap > Gates+Burleson+Henderson

QB

E. Manning (4.16) - One of the last consistent options left at QB after the earlier than normal QB run. I was targeting McNabb, but he went 2 picks ahead of me.

A. Smith (7.01) - Felt kind of early to take him, but he seems to be settling in as the permanent QB. Maybe this will be his breakout year now that he has his own version of the triplets to throw to.

RB

Chr. Johnson (1.01) - I'll take a 25% reduction in last years numbers & still be happy with this pick.

B. Wells (5.01) - Big choice here. There were a lot of options available, but decided to go with Wells due to the probable retirement of Warner. Hoping for a 65/35 split with Hightower.

Ri. Williams (8.16) - Think I got great value here. Especially with Ronnie coming off another injury.

A. Foster - (13.1) - May have been a bit early, but I didn't want to risk losing him. I think he becomes the goaline back at the least. Thats a good place to be in a high powered Texans offense.

WR

S. Smith-CAR (2.16) - Betting on Moore being a much better option at QB for the Panthers than Delhomme. High risk/reward this early for sure.

Si. Rice (3.01) - Sidney is a spectacular WR. Now the big question is who will be throwing him the ball. Like Smith, this is definitely a high risk/reward pick this early in the draft.

Ro. Williams (9.01) - Had mixed emotions about this pick. Surely he can't do worse than last year now that Austin should be drawing the coverage away from him all year.

B. Hartline (11.01) - Should improve on his rookie numbers & throw in a big game on occasion.

TE

V. Shiancoe (6.16) - Ugh. I waited to long on a TE and Shiancoe was the most established starter left. Shiancoe is not the problem, its the potential lack of a decent QB that might cause issues.

J. Cook (10.16) - Maybe a bit too early for him, but with my other TE being a questionable pick, I needed a back up plan. Cook is a freak of a specimen at TE. He just needs to stay healthy and he could be a dominate force.

K

D/ST

New Orleans (12.16) - Even though I outlasted the teams that took 3 D/STs last year, I wasn't going to be left without one this year.

So far:

QBs - are OK

RBs - are pretty strong IMO

WR - could be great, could stink

TE - are below par unless Cook breaks out

K -

D/ST - I got one!!!!!!!

QB - Roethlisberger 4.3 - I really wanted to get one of the top tier QBs and I thought that Schaub, Romo and Big Ben were the last three in that tier. Decided that I preferred Boldin and whichever of the three that was left than to take Schaub and miss out on Boldin. I was correct in that two of the three QBs were taken so I got Roethlisberger and Boldin. Hines Ward was also taken by BSS so it would be interesting to see if he would have nabbed Boldin. Also missed out on Addai who I was surprised was still left at this point, but valued Boldin over him and contunued to play the waiting game at RB.

RB - McCoy 5.14, Bradshaw 6.3, Slaton 7.14, & L Washington 11.14 - Decided early on to choose from TE, WR, and QB early and hope value fell at RB. I am really liking the four that I got this late. I think that I am happier with these RBs than I am with my WRs.

WR - R White 2.3, Boldin 3.14, Mason 8.3, Burleson 9.14, & D Henderson 10.3 - I really like the consistency of Roddy White and expect a better year from Matt Ryan, but I chose White over DeJax, VJax, Marshall, Calvin, and Colston. He is not significantly above the others in that tier, but you have to draft at your spot. As stated earlier, I like Boldin and am glad I added him. Mason, Burleson, and D Henderson are all guys that should score well, although not consistently. I have always been an advocate of getting quality depth at WR because of the three scorers for the position and the fact that there is quite a bit of variation in week to week scoring.

TE - Gates 1.14 - With having two ppr for TE scoring I wanted to grab a top flight guy at this position. I think that Antonio Gates combines the best qualities for fantasy TEs. He has excellent hands and is a frequent red zone target. He may not have as many red zone looks as in the past, but he still gets quite a few. He is also more consistent than many of the top tier TEs and I wanted the option to go solo at the position.

PK -

DST - Packers 12.3

Team is ok at this point. Wound up with better potential at RB than anticipated as I think I got huge bargains with McCoy and Slaton. Not as strong at WR as anticipated. Definitely need more depth at several spots. Enjoying the draft although we have definitely lost momentum in the last two days.

To answer some questions here:

Cooley >> FDavis. Cooley is already running 5-6 miles at a clip and the issue was a broken bone, not an ACL or MCL. Those respond much faster and I expect him to be at 100% for OTAs.

Mason is coming back, no question. They're posturing on both sides over $ and role (he will likely be WR2 if they can help it at all - think Rod Smith role to compliment a Boldin or Marshall).

QB - Roethlisberger 4.3 - I really wanted to get one of the top tier QBs and I thought that Schaub, Romo and Big Ben were the last three in that tier. I would of grabbed Boldin or S.Holmes at the 3 pick. Since Romo and Schaub were both still available I would of let Romo goto to Pimpin cuz hes a homer and grabbed schaub back up. But once those WRs were gone, I just grabbed the QB I liked most

Interested in your WRs for this draft. You typically stress low risk and depth. With Gonzalez there is some risk of his return from missing the entire 09 season and with Welker the significant risk coming off knee surgery following the season. Combined with only four at this point seems very contrarian to your normal M.O.

Thanks guys, we will see if the Edelman pick is fools gold. I think that Welker Finally underwent surgery last Tuesday. I think he plays a role for sure especially early on. They could bring in a WR but I think with the uncapped year the FA WR pool will be non-existant.

Don't think they'll need to bring anyone in with Tate coming back. If they do look for a stop gap, hopefully it will be Branch.

All done, thoughts:

QB - Matt Schaub, Brett Favre

Favre is coming back. ANd you know minnesota wont even make him do a thing in training camp. Wanted to cuff Tarvarias to him but Rzr sniped him, no big deal. With BRett and Schaub in tow, this should give me max scoring in the league at the spot.

RB - DeAngelo Williams, Marion Barber III, Donald Brown, Michael Bush, Jerious Norwood

DeAngelo at 15 overall? thanks, I hope D.brown and MB3 can platoon to give me some nice RB2 points. M.Bush is the best RB in Oakland make no mistake. I took Norwood in round20 because he can break a long one and put up a score for me in 2 or 3 weeks.

WR - Hines Ward, Braylon Edwards, Julian Edelman, Andre Caldwell, Bernard Berrian, Louis Murphy, Malcolm Kelly

Hines is as solid as they get, I almost took Randy Moss instead of Deangelo maybe Pimpin wouldnt of snagged DeAngelo but who knows. Braylon with a camp with Sanchez to gel better should produce well. Edelman as a early season replacement for WesWelker who had surgery just before the superbowl and is looking like a 6 week PUP candidate for sure. Cadlwell takes over #2 in Cincy and then just some dudes who might score here and there in Berrian, Murphy and Kelly. Weakness? maybe

TE - Jason Witten, Ben Watson

Everyone thought that Witten stunk last year but in this format he is just fine, 94 catches? thats nearly 200 points on catches alone in a down season

K - Ryan Longwell, John Kasay

D - New York Jets, Seattle Seahawks

Go two a each with One Elite D and a dome Kicker.

Overall I always seem to be at the bottom of these and as only 1 of 2 people with 4 overall survivor titles. All but one of them I won from the 15 or 16 spot. I like my chances, but its soooooo early.

Good Luck boys!

I think this is a potential trouble spot...DeAngelo is eventually going to see decreased touches and MBIII could be potentially hit and miss with news coming out of Dallas. Bush and Norwood are below average RB depth.

Not terrible, but below average IMHO. Edelman was your biggest reach of the draft.

Edelman was a calculated risk. I think he's gonna produce nicely in pprs. Welker isnt gonna be right for a while. Now if they add a WR2 then yeah that could be a wasted pick but that dude seemed to step right in an perform nicely
