Nobody truly believes that inFamous is going to move hardware. I liked the first two installments, I'll play the new one, and it's almost certainly going to be the best PS4 exclusive so far (pretty low bar). But this isn't the kind of game that's going to make someone run out to buy a console. Is the Infamous series really a system seller type? I played the original one after it was free and it was fun for a few hours but then got extremely repetitive. The storyline wasn't nearly good enough to keep me interested. And I never really heard that much hype over Infamous 2. So it's curious to me that it is being portrayed as a major system selling type title.
Come to think of it, Sony never really had that one big must-own game last gen either. Uncharted 2 was probably the closest, but it wasn't in the same league as something like Gears or Halo (I'm talking here about mindshare, not quality -- obviously it was a great game). What Sony offered was a large number of different titles as opposed to a few monster franchises. It seems like they're following that same strategy now. By the end of 2014, if all goes according to schedule, you'll have inFamous, DriveClub, The Order, Uncharted, and probably another title or two, which is actually a pretty good first-year library IMO even if none of those games have the same individual impact of something like Titanfall.
