Yet another Pitt Bull attack (3 Viewers)

My doctor just informed me that posting in this thread isn't good for my blood pressure so I'm done here.

Before I leave though, I want to thank bigbottom. He is very level headed and although we disagree on this topic, we can still have a civil, respectful conversation about it. Thanks, bud.

Ruff ruff, I'm out.
Stay safe out there buddy. Please go back to your other avatar picture.

maybe someday we can convince el presidente trump that pit bulls are muslims so they can be thrown out of murica take that to the bank brohans

Thanks for putting up the good fight.

Arguing with pit bull haters is a lot like arguing with an anti-vax Trump lover.

There's a VERY easy way to solve this problem - pit bull dog license for $1,000 each, and this thread does not exist.

http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=eec_1364398025 (GRAPHIC VIDEO!)

This is a Russian favorite and gets to 220 pounds. they were bred for protecting livestock from all kinds of predators and after viewing the disturbing video attached I believe they are more than capable. Plus a description of a characteristic, they also can be fairly aggressive towards people they do not know and with incorrect handling this can be problematic.

I believe at 220 pounds, although they were not bred for fighting like my pits and after watching said video (please be aware, it's graphic), we may have the "Could Matsuki defeat a 125 pound boxer" scenario here. At some point the weight is going to overpower the skill and I think it may be true here. And the fact that they are already very aggressive to strangers makes me off to a great start.
These dogs are no joke, or what I like to call unintended consequences.

Inside Edition video titled How You Should React During a Dog Attack, of some dogs attacking a guy in the street while a bunch of people try to help him:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhlcwxBPsCc

I watched the video to try to learn what to do if being attacked... the advice was pretty much let them chew off your arm.
Yep. Feed the pit your arm while standing it up if you can to remove some of its leverage. Then stab its jugular. Then stab the owner.

The pitbull attacked Hardy in the face and neck, while the other dog attacked her on “the lower part of her body,” police said.
 That's it bred-in Instincts winning out.
i know that i've probably waited a tad too long to return my dogs to the breeder, as 1 is 10 and the other 14, but i'm really feeling like I got ripped off now with a couple bad 1's, as mine aren't doing this like they should. Maybe I can get some type of gift card or something for at least a little compensantion for my crappy bred dogs.

WTF?!?!!?

A 22-year-old mother killed herself by climbing into a yard where she knew two dangerous dogs resided, authorities told BuzzFeed News.Rebecca Hardy, of Port Huron, Michigan, died last week after she was mauled to death by the animals, the Port Huron Police Department said in a statement.According to police, Hardy allegedly climbed into the backyard of a home where the two dogs were. One dog was a pitbull, and the other was a pitbull-husky mix.

The pitbull attacked Hardy in the face and neck, while the other dog attacked her on “the lower part of her body,” police said.

A witness saw the attack and tried to help but couldn’t, police said. The witness went inside the home and grabbed the dogs’ owner, who was able to free Hardy.

She was taken to a hospital, where she died from her injuries.
After an investigation, the Oakland County Medical Examiner’s office said it determined that Hardy’s death was a suicide.

Dr. Ljubisa J. Dragovic, the county’s chief medical examiner, told BuzzFeed News that his office determined the death was a suicide because Hardy went into the yard on her own accord knowing of the danger.“She subjected herself to the situation of mauling by the dogs,” he said.

Dragovic said that his office learned that Hardy had gotten into an argument at her home, and had left the house barefoot.

She then traveled about a mile to where she knew the dogs were, knowing they were aggressive, Dragovic said.

“The fact is that she made a purposeful act by climbing the fence,” he said.

Dragovic said that Hardy had also attempted suicide in the past.
But Matt Grattan, Hardy’s fiance, told the Times-Heraldhe doesn’t believe that his fiancee would have killed herself.

He told the newspaper he didn’t think Hardy would leave him or her 1-year-old daughter.“I, in no way, shape or form, believe that she was looking to hurt herself on that day,” he said. “She had a little girl…She wanted us to be a family.”

A fundraising page set up for Hardy’s daughter described her as a happy person who loved her daughter and fiance “dearly.”

“She was full of life and she loved her daughter with everything. She would brighten up the room when she walked in,” the page reads.

The Port Huron Police Department said the investigation into Hardy’s death is ongoing, and officers have yet to decide if there will be any charges in the case. The dogs are in the custody of animal control.

#### that. Own it and move on.

so this is officially the worst thread in the FFA right?
Worst in the sense of filled with some of the most obtuse people in the forum, then yes. But it's not really a random sampling--given the subject matter, we're drawing a, um, certain type of crowd in here.

It's sort of like handing out a survey at the neck tattoo parlor.

I'd be happy with a background check requirement for pit bull owners. No good reason not to do it other than politics.

There are a lot of good pit bulls and put bull mixes for adoption at your local shelter. Typically the ones you find there are very sweet dogs. It is a shame what is done to them.

yup, closer to this. And a whole lot of people that seem to feel they are aware of most dog owners and characteristics they possess. Maybe judgmental, and prone to lazy assumptions?

one good pit bull is pit bull who plays at halftime of the beef of brady bowl the other kind of pit bulls are death dealing hell machines and should not be allowed in first world nations take that to the bank brohans

Nope. I'm not perfect. Have at it. I drink too much and eat too much garbage and as a result I'm in crappy shape and probably shaving years off my life. That said, I'm not making incredibly stupid choices for no good reason that endanger my family and, even worse, other peoples' families. That kind of behavior justifies a whole different level of judgment.

God i hate how i get sucked into this vortex. So, if my pit-mix (i got my dog from the shelter. she has pit in her but who knows what she is mixed with) never attacks anybody i just got lucky? Do you not think some people are better equipped to train a dog than others? Is it inevitable that everyone with a pit is simply gambling daily on that dog attacking someone and if it doesn't happen it is just luck?

and i saw earlier the talk about the whole "lock-jaw" thing. I love that some still think that a pit bull has some genetic difference that somehow has the effect of it's "jaw locking" when it grabs something.

If ANY dog never attacks a person, I would say you got lucky.

But if you have a pit then we have a whole new set off issues about the resulting attack.

Was your pit the only dog available at the shelter? Why bring home a murdering animal? Why not one less likely to kill my kids?

Thanks.

horrendously, inaccurate statement. I have never owned a dog that has attacked small children. i did have one dog that had some issues with certain people but i never had him in a position where anybody was in danger, in addition worked on training with him quite a bit so that we took proper precautions

PitBull Defenders always talk about how they can train their dog to be well behaved. That may be the case, and pit bull puppies are as cute and cuddly as any other puppy. But the problem isn't whether or not your Pit is more or less likely than my Dachshund to bite, the problem is what is the range of outcomes when it happens. Worst case scenario, you're taking your 5-year-old to the quick med getting a tetanus shot and maybe a few stitches when my Dachshund "attacks." If this happens with your pit bull, we might be making funeral arrangements. It just doesn't make any sense to have a Pit Bull.

unrelated, but a cause that would save so many more lives:

Among the 10,076 alcohol-impaired-driving fatalities in 2013, 68 percent (6,860) were in crashes in which at least one driver in the crash had a BAC of .15 g/dL or higher.

Good news: drinking and driving is illegal

Do the same thing with these death monsters and we're in good shape.

in theory, eliminating alcohol would be the best solution, wouldn't it? no alcohol means no 10,000 senseless deaths every year.

Analogies and metaphors... you should avoid these things steelerfan1.
I told him to lead with a wry smile and be the kind the kind of guy who hangs out in night clubs that cater to drunk drivers rather than lounge around on the couch with a nanny dog.
You are very sad.
Emotional much?
No. I'm not the one with the same old tired dig. Its been like 3 years. Its grown and now I do the two best niteclubs in town and a Hilton. Its great.

It's not about evilness. It's about dead children.
We should ban everything that kills children, no?
No.

Isn't otis's argument that pit bulls should be banned because they can kill children?
