I've got TPS reports to get out and no time for obfuscations. What's the end game here, Peenies? Big media plot to get America to soften up, drop its guard and get overrun by godless brown people and actors who don't even like our brand of football? You're really crappy at message boarding, weaving clumsily around what you really want to say and when you finally do, it's something really dumb.

Step it up a little.
Well, im out of practice. Cut me some slack lmao. Your post made me laugh, thanks man

And the gay insults you keep throwing around. The same guy that's supposedly for gay rights. :lmao:
The thing is, "gay" isn't an insult.
The only point of anyone calling someone 'gay' on this thread is as an insult. It is being used in a derogatory manner the exact same way people use the five letter f-word.
French?

How dare you insult gay people by equating them with the French.

Yes, there are exceptions....imagine that...
It's not called the "aha gotcha" game, it's called debate. You are supposed to pick a position and justify that position. Maybe your initial position was poor, would you like to rephrase?

No, i dont think i would like to rephrase. Sandra bernhard or whatever her name is certainly isnt a smoking hot lesbian. But she isnt the bull dyke lesbian either. I cant believe this is what you want to nit pick? good grief....

Just look for a spelling error or something and call it a day....

the funny thing is that the people who throw words like dyke and baggy pants chicks and stuff like that who are trying to paint some people as ugly because of how they are wired or how they look is that there is no one uglier than the people throwing around those words funny how that works brohans take that to the bank
Uh nooooo. Im actually describing how they dress and how they look. They normally have a bunch of tatts and possibly a bone through the nose as well. Jus sayin.....
You're doing a swell job of dispelling the idea that you're an idiot bigot.

No, I am just suprised that large portion of the gay community isnt outraged that they arent being potrayed on tv is all lma
Apparently it doesn't bother them as much as it bothers you.
Actually it doesnt bother me either. I just observed that i rarely will see that on tv. Unless its on A and E's intervention....
So what does bother you? I'm trying to understand the basis for your complaint that networks are cramming the gay down your throat. Is it really nothing more than a perceived overrepresentation on the line of a few percentage points on a couple shows you watch?
What bothers me is how they have to be present on certain shows. Its like the show couldnt air without hitting that gay quota. I think with that and the story lines with shows like Greys anatomy its like they are training to push some kind of agenda down my throat. This is obviously my opinion and i certainly dont expect others to agree. Its just my observation...
Certain shows like ones about dancing and singing? That's like getting mad that watching True Blood is unfulfilling because they keep shoving vampires down your throat

Not much singing going on with Big brother, survivor or greys anatomy. Well except for that one really weird episode...

And remember your original position (you've changed it several time since) include that they were all hot smoking models.

Your ETA and spelling wont bother me.

Are two of those shows the ones that had several seasons without gay characters? Or are they ones that had a proportion reflective of actual population percentages?

So you're simultaneously complaining about there being too many gay people on tv and about there being too few bull dykes on tv?

Sure, you're right that the word in and of itself isn't, but it is being used that way (negatively) when others don't subscribe to the same views. It is being used as an insult by calling someone out as "gay" when you know they are not - you're doing it on purpose.

Not you specifically, though, but by other "tolerant" (sarcasm) progressives.
No, it's seriously never an insult. It's like calling someone a brunette. If you were blonde and someone called you a brunette, would you be upset? Even if they knew you were blonde?
I think it's disingenuous to say that the people in this thread aren't intending it as an insult. In fact, your analogy is kind of instructive. My wife is a brunette who dyes her hair blonde. If someone were to say to her, "you're a brunette," I think it would be meant as an insult. They'd be remarking that she was hiding something.
Sure, they'd be needling her about something they don't think is an insulting quality to have which she may find offensive.

"Brunette" isn't an insult. The implication that she ridiculously finds being a brunette to be inferior is.

Similarly, "gay" isn't an insult. The implication that he ridiculously finds being gay to be inferior is.

Exhibit 2 Bone through the nose and she's uglier, more bull dyke, than anyone you're going to come up with. Most definitely not super model, am I right?

So you're simultaneously complaining about there being too many gay people on tv and about there being too few bull dykes on tv?
Its a misrepresentation is all. Not really a complaint, more of an observation.

TV doesn't claim to be "representing" anything, so there's nothing to misrepresent. They're trying to give us good looking, interesting or funny people to amuse us, regardless of their sexual preference. Why does that bother you so much, and why does it only bother you so much when its a lesbian?

I can top that lol. Im not disputing her unattractiveness. Just not the bad haircut, dirty looking, tatto having, baggy clothes wearing, ugly, chubby guy wannabe chicks....

Or that liberals have a long, braided ponytail with dirty toes from wearing those ridiculous sandals all the time. Blah...

I've had gay and lesbian friends and mentors my whole life, which is actually (admittedly) strange for someone in the "born before AIDS was discovered" bracket.

Always been an ally.
Wow you win the "Politically Correct" award for the day, congrats...

Why does that win me the Politically Correct award? Because I grew up around a lot of gays and lesbians? Shouldn't my parents get that award?

Nah. He's been bald for most of his life. He can braid his ear hair, though.

I'm wracking my brain trying to come up with a five letter f-word. French?

Do you mean six letter?

Jane Lynch and Ellen DeGeneres, the two most popular lesbians on all of TV are smoking hot models? You need to get your eyes checked.
Umm... Rosie O'Donnell anyone?

I don't know about television, but it does seem like there's an awful lot of homosexuality in movies these days. Just this last weekend, I sat down to watch Firehouse Frolics XVII and the homosexuality was just right there in my face the whole time.

What bothers you is that they're present in everyday life, and you want your TV to make that go away or to make them appear like ugly bull-dykes.

Welcome to the Mind of Peens, readers.
