Been listening to Stuff they don't want you to know . I enjoy it because they take a fairly even look at strange events

Though I could not stomach The Kurim Case. That was just gruesome
I am having a hard time finding this podcast on my phone? It sounds interesting.

Read through a tiny bit of the case because I was intrigued and I agree.

What is everyone’s sweet spot for podcast length?  I like the hardcore history stuff, but I wish he’d break them down into 45 minute increments instead of 5 hour epics.

My #1 is The Meat Eater. It's mostly about hunting, fishing, and outdoor conservation. You'll hear a ton of interesting stories, learn a lot, and there's plenty of humor along the way.

Now I am curious WTF that podcast is about that people aren't lasting past 7min.
Well that one in particular was someone forcing a child to be shackled while eating off the floor and skinning him/her systematically for cannibalistic reasons. I stopped at that point with another 35 or so minutes of detail to go. I can only assume it didn’t end happily.

Conan’s new podcast is awesome.

I’m the last one to the party on this, but I’m also a huge fan of Pardon My Take, even though I’m not a huge football fan anymore and that’s their main sport. I stayed away for a long time because Barstool doesnt really seem like a company I want to support, but I’ll make an exception for these guys.

Really looking forward to digging into the new Hardcore History episode.

Not hard to find, give it a listen. I made it through although it was brutal. There are plenty of articles to go along with it if you're that curious, just google Kurim Case. Incredibly convoluted.

I spent some time listening to a few other podcasts of theirs. Not sure they are my thing. I'm all in for a good conspiracy case but ti doesn't seem like they dig real deep into anything. Maybe it's just me.

That was kind of the high point of the abuse so after that it toned down and went into the background of the adopted "daughter". Who is roaming free in Europe as I type by the way.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't find Conan's podcast all that great.  Listened to a few of em, pretty middle of the road overall

I'm the same way with Barstool and PMT.  I'm sure I'd like their new Gold episodes, but I'm not sure I can send Barstool money.

I've gotten hooked on the Why is this happening? pod by Chris Hayes. Consistently good interviews with field experts every week. If you're just starting out, I highly recommend the "White Identity Politics" and "The Information Crisis" episodes.

The other podcast in my rotation is The Weeds by Vox. This one is at its best when there's an interesting new policy to be discussed, which is why I'm keeping a close eye on it as we approach 2020.

Yeah I appreciate the weeds because of it's mostly pure policy/no politics approach. Also Brookings Institution has a few good policy pods.

Dan Carlins Hardcore History might be the best podcast of any category. He only puts out about 6 eps per year but they are all fantastic. Start from the beginning.

More like 2x year lately.  Just came out with one, and I think the last before that was July.

I wish - only two per year recently but they are usually 4+ hours. Edit: I see KP beat me to this point.

A few more that i like:

Duncd On, i prob listen to this more than I watch actual nba games.

The Knowledge Project , feed your brain

The History of English Podcast and Words For Granted,  i enjoy learning english

I have only listened to a couple of them, but I am digging on Ear Hustle.  It's a podcast by inmates from San Quentin telling a variety of stories about their lives in prison and life before they got there.  I saw it on a couple lists of "best new podcast of 2017" and decided to give it a go.
Did you end up liking this after listening to more? I listened to the first two and plan on listening for a while.

JUST starting listening to the Ezra Klein podcast.  The recent one about how online politics get so extreme was great.
Klein plugged his podcast on a recent episode of The Weeds, so I went and checked it out. I’m here tonight to tell you all that his most recent episode, “The Intersection of Poverty and Stress,” is mandatory listening. I’ve had so many “whoah, holy ####” moments and I still have another 30 minutes left.

FYI, Steve McNair podcast is a SKIP - what a bust...  Started out strong (altho the host is awful) and fizzled hard

Yep.  Pretty interesting.  Not sure what to think, though.
Seems pretty cut and dry that the DA and his lackey are corrupt and railroading Curtis.  Bigmarc its about a single 20 year old case in mississipi.  4 peeps murdered at a furniture store.  The DA charged someone with it and convicted him however it went to the MS. supreme court who overturned the result based on the DA's shoddy work.  The DA retried him 5 more times and each time the MS SC overturned.  All the while this guy has been in prison.

The DA is certainly corrupt and to say that Curtus hasn't been treated fairly is an understatement.  I don't want to say much else as not to spoil it for others.

Started listening to Mo Rocca's new podcast "Mobituaries."  It has a similar feel to his CBS Sunday Morning spots, shining a light on some forgotten historical or cultural figure.  First episode was about JFK impersonator Vaughn Meader, whose career died with JFK.   Second one was about strange sitcom deaths/disappearances, like Chuck Cunningham from Happy Days and Valerie Hogan.  Third one was on forgotten firsts in history like Elizabeth Jennings (who desegregated the NYC trolleys, with her attorney, Chet Arthur) and Moses Fleetwood Walker (first and last African-American baseball player until Jackie Robinson).

Not a huge fan of the Mike Ritland podcasts but I've listened to a few of them and he does occasionally knock it out of the park. This is one of those podcast. He has a relationship with Laura Logan so she agreed to do his pod and it's stellar. She's a warrior, good 3 hour listen. His podcast is Mike Drop.

The Mike Drop podcast is a not so politically correct discussion of wide ranging topics that span from govt/politics and war to health and fitness, from guns and survival skills to food and nutrition with music, BBQ and a touch of everything else in between. This is THE platform that is completely raw, totally unfiltered and in your face, while still intellectually sound with good intuitive dialogue between A-holes that know what they’re talking about.

I pimped this podcast a while ago after listening to his Fear & Loathing in the New Jerusalem series (fantastic btw). Mr. Cooper posted the first in a new series last week, just got to it yesterday and wow, phenomenal opening! Darryl Cooper is second only to Dan Carlin in my book when it comes to story-type podcast. Give it a listen

This is the first episode of a series exploring Jim Jones and the Peoples Temple. This episode is only a prologue, a few stories and ideas to serve as a backdrop for everything to come. The next episode will be along in the next few weeks, and every few weeks after that until we figure out why over 900 people committed suicide in a South American jungle in 1978.
