your favorite recurring guest star on a 70s crime tv show (1 Viewer)

The list doesnt even tell you which roles they we recurring as.

Are we supposed to already know this stuff?

Everybody on Rockford Files, but especially Gandy (Isaac Hayes) and Lance White (Tom Selleck). And i didnt have to look either of those character names up, havent seen the list yet and aint seen an ep in 5 yrs.

ETA: and, to do some advanced analytics, the blind attorney (Kathryn Harrold) on several Rockfishes exceeded even Mad Men 's Christina Hendricks in my personal groan-per-ep rate

this has @shuke written all over it.

and if your answer isn't Jack Soo, you're dead to me.
While I applaud your enthusiasm, I'm gonna have to go with Roddy McDowall.  Suspicion, Twilight Zone, Naked City, Arrest and Trial, Eleventh Hour, Alfred Hitchcock Hour, Combat, Ben Casey, Run for your Life, Batman, The Defector, The Invaders, Felony Squad, Robin Hood, Journey to the Unknown, It Takes a Thief, Night Gallery, The Name of the Game, Medical Center, Ironside, Columbo, The Delphi Bureau, The Rookies, Mission Impossible, McCloud, Barnaby Jones, McMillan & Wife, Police Woman, Wonder Woman, Hart to Hart, Trapper, John MD, Bucker Rogers in the 25th Century, Tales of the Gold Monkey. . . my fingers hurt from this much typing. . . but the point is, if there was a great series (Twilight Zone, Columbo, Mission Impossible, Night Gallery, Alfred Hitchcock) then Roddy was your man.  If there was a complete crap series (McMillan & Wife, Wonder Woman, Hart to Hart) then Roddy was STILL your man.

On married with children he played Kelly Bundy's acting coach.
growing up, i think F Troop was like my dad’s favorite show.  i don’t have many memories left of him being alive, but damn, i remember him always watching F Troop for some reason as i tried to figure out what made that show funny.

First one that came to my mind was Richie Brockelman. I think he had a short lived spinoff series.

i don't make the rules, just arbitrarily enforce them as i see fit
I recall Inspector Luger as a recurring character whose only purpose was to lament to Barney of the passing of "the good ole days" when you could drink on the job, plant evidence and crack the skull of anyone who looked at you funny, all without any fear of consequence.

one of the great characters of all-time

Wow, lots of actors/actresses I haven't seen or thought of in years on that list.  Brings back some memories.

harry morgan had a zillion roles, but they were not guest appearances.
One exception was when he did one Mash ep as a different character years before he was added as a regular to the show.
