Ramsay, easily.  As awful as Joffrey was, he was a spoiled brat who got drunk with power once he became king, so his behavior was somewhat explainable (if not still reprehensible).  Ramsay had zero redeeming qualities whatsoever and was all about torturing and tormenting people for no reason whatsoever.

Bran got my vote.  As Krista said, despite supposedly being important to the plot, I usually cant wait for his scenes to end.

Ramsay, Dany, and Sam wouldnt be far behind.  Gee looking at that list, I wonder why I haven't been 100% on board with the last couple seasons.

Other - Shae

The way she toyed with Tyrion - captured his heart - and then betrayed him - was perhaps my saddest moment for him.

And, since she dead...no time for redemption.

So soory Shae...CYA!

Yeah, in rewatching Season 1 I would like to have voted for her or Cat Stark.  Both horrible people with no interesting qualities.

I haven't read the books, but while I hate Cat for making every wrong move I also can't stand that "just ate a bunch of lemons" look she always had on her face.  So maybe I would have found her more sympathetic in the books even just on that basis.
Honestly - book Cat eats lotsa lemons too - in a verse-y kinda way. Very irritating & irrational at times - but, book gives better reasons why she such a pucker-####.

So - I still don't like her, but I have sympathy.

Tyrion strangling her before darting his dad on the pooper seemed like some nice redemption to me.

Ramsay was a piece of excrement but he was born a ******* and was the product of rape.  He was an only child that never really knew his mother and his father wasn't exactly the most loving guy.

Joffrey was a sadist that enjoyed watching others suffer but was often too weak to do it himself.  Unlike Ramsay, Joffrey grew up in a privileged home with two siblings and had a loving mother.

It is funny how differently they were brought up but were both awful human beings.

Really?  Book Cat tells Jon "It should have been you" referring to Bran being crippled.  I hated book Cat.
Didn't read the book but what does it say about the Ned / Cat marriage that he didn't confide in her about John's true parentage.

They really didn't even know each other before they got married, and then he left to fight a war something like 2 weeks after.  He came home with Jon.  Says he was smart enough to not have to go through a second fight about lying to her.

Is the question here asking for which character was so poorly written/conceived/acted that we wish they weren't in the story at all, or which character was so well written/conceived/acted that we dislike them the most within the context of the story?

If it's the former, my answer is Bran. If it's the latter, my answer is Cersei.

Very true.  It's splitting hairs to argue which was worse, to be honest.  :hifive:

I agrees, parrot - Book Cat is still bad news - but, with all the words a book can throw out, I feel it better explains what's happenin' in her head while this all goes on.

I still hate book Cat, but, I understand her better than TV Kitty. Thus, I have more sympathy - think she is a better character - not a better person.

Hope that makes sense - that can be an obstacle o'mine, at times.

✌️
