I just hope this doesn't cripple the poker rooms in 2 weeks. I love the action at the poker tables in Vegas. It's like printing money.Big convention cities are getting crushed. Las Vegas, New Orleans, Orlando, Chicago, San Francisco. Hope it's not for too long but short term hit is massive. If you do go you will find everything easier to get. Rooms, restaurant reservations, shows, etc. Not surprised that I got about 8 Vegas offers in my inbox this morning.
If you drink yourself to the brink of death, it'll also kill everything living off you.Supposed to be flying to Vegas in 2 weeks. I have a bad feeling that Covid-19 is going to ruin this trip.
Poker chips are a great way to spend diseases.I just hope this doesn't cripple the poker rooms in 2 weeks. I love the action at the poker tables in Vegas. It's like printing money.
I can think of a lot of worse things than death by poker.Poker chips are a great way to spend diseases.
Where are you playing that you are printing money.I love the action at the poker tables in Vegas. It's like printing money.
Vegas is a tourist trap and pretty much the easiest place in the world to win money in poker. Where do you play at and what time of day? If you play at night, you'll likely have several drunk people on your table. Even during the day against these nits, you can easily take advantage. It's all about mixing up your strategy depending on the information you have on your opponents. Exploit their weaknesses.Where are you playing that you are printing money.
Every Vegas room I visit has nothing but tough local nits.
What tier are you?Vegas trip coming up in 2 weeks. I have a Caesars card because I play in Atlantic City a fair amount. I've been looking for the past 4 months to see if I can get a complimentary room (going during March Madness). Nothing at all. I just looked tonight and all of a sudden I have comps at most of the Caesars hotels for every night (other than Friday and Saturday).
I'm platinum but only because I have the total rewards credit card (I don't get to the casino very often anymore). And when they say comp, you still have to pay the taxes and resort fee so it still equates to $40 a night. I'm not sure if there is a way around those resort fees yet. Atlantic City has them as well. What tier are you?
correct...no interest in poker, but I'll be there watching/betting games.Poker chips are a great way to spend diseases.
Wow . I had no idea - thanks!Dude, do the thing from this thread back in July. Diamond level for a one-time $100 fee. No resort fees for Diamond level and you get a $100 dining credit every year, and I think two show tickets a month.
If I go to Vegas, I’m playing poker. I’m just hoping the airlines give me a credit and I can just reschedule this trip.correct...no interest in poker, but I'll be there watching/betting games.
Straight one time fee? No spin/play stuff, right? No time for that. What does Diamond level get you and where?Dude, do the thing from this thread back in July. Diamond level for a one-time $100 fee. Whoa, I didn’t know this! I have gold with Hilton through Amex and once I do all those matches I will forever be in your debt! One time fee, Diamond every year for as long as it takes for Caesar's to close the loophole. Diamond perks listed here. Reduced rates, dedicated check-in lines, and no resort fees are good enough. $100 dinner credit pays for itself. Complimentary valet & self-parking. (It looks like you used to get 4 free nights at Atlantis in the Bahamas, but, this year there's a minimum point balance required.)
Anyway, all credit to @eoMMan in the credit card thread, check here: https://forums.footballguys.com/forum/topic/762601-do-you-hoard-credit-card-points/?do=findComment&comment=22012225
I did this last year. I got the Amex Hilton card with the $100 annual fee, used my Hilton Gold status to get Wyndham Diamond, then my Wyndham status to get Caesar's Diamond.
When my Wyndham status expired in January, I used my current remaining Caesar's Diamond to status match back and I was Wyndhan Diamond again on January 2nd. On Feb 2nd when my Caesar's expired, I matched my Wyndham status back. You can ping-pong these two back and forth every year in January then February without needing to maintain the Hilton status, so, you can then cancel the Amex card and only pay the annual fee once. Just set a calendar reminder that repeats every January so you can hit it in the overlap period.
Thanks for sharing. This is awesome - but a lot of steps to go through considering my trip is less than 2 weeks away. I'm a little nervous that I won't actually become diamond status until it's too late. Regardless, still seems worth it to get the process started. One time fee, Diamond every year for as long as it takes for Caesar's to close the loophole. Diamond perks listed here. This was exactly what I was going to suggest.Dude, do the thing from this thread back in July. Diamond level for a one-time $100 fee. No resort fees for Diamond level and you get a $100 dining credit every year, and I think two show tickets a month.
They say up to 7 business I think, but it was 2 or 3 for meIt might be close to get it done in two weeks. You can apply for the Amex online and once your account is set up, you get the Hilton Gold and Wyndham Diamond online immediately. But Caesar's sometimes takes a few days to get their match done.
I have 2 weeks still so sounds like I should be golden even with a conservative estimate. You guys are awesome! And I will actually use my Hilton card quite a bit for the year that I have it.I think this year when I renewed on Sunday Feb 2 I was up showing Diamond by Tuesday Feb 4. But the first time I connected Wyndham to Caesar's it took a week.
I think I got 150k Hilton points for signing upI have 2 weeks still so sounds like I should be golden even with a conservative estimate. You guys are awesome! And I will actually use my Hilton card quite a bit for the year that I have it.
This is really good to know. I requested my Wyndham diamond match on Sunday night. I was told 3-5 business days. If I get it complete by Friday then I should have my Caesar's diamond match complete hopefully by the following Friday. I check into my Caesars hotel the following Sunday. Cutting it close but I have a good shot.I requested my Hilton Gold be matched to Wyndham Diamond on Saturday and they completed the match today. Requested the Caesar's match today and will be matched in 7 days, which is plenty of time as my next trip is for the draft in April.
Who else is attending the draft in vegas?
This is my dream.Airlines all starting to waive change fees. I think I have to cancel this trip. It sucks but a week from now and I’ll be nervous getting stuck in Vegas.
Mine too lol but believe me when I say I would pay a SEVERE price when I finally get back home (to my wife)This is my dream.
"Babe, it was awful. CDC said no more travel. I had to survive on drug store vodka and Ellis Island pizza. Good news is I made $10,000 during the NCAA tourney. OTHER good news is we now own a time share at Wyndham Vegas. Bad news is you hate Las Vegas."Mine too lol but believe me when I say I would pay a SEVERE price when I finally get back home (to my wife)
People forget that Vegas is fundamentally a city that is largely dependent on business conferences and conventions. Sure--standard tourists certainly propel business on major holidays---but city cannot really survive and thrive if their convention business is halted. Until business travel resumes--Vegas will most likely be running on limited capacity even when the resorts re-open.Never thought I would see this day in my life.
Mwahahahaha. My brother was grabbing that CLE flight & a $20 room at the D. I told him he won't be going. I was right. So much for considering the 37 dollar round trip flight from Cleveland
I received Diamond status as a result of a conference I was at in December. What are the best benefits of being Diamond (I noticed it was also extended through Jan 2022 despite the fact that I only have about 1% of the required tier points needed for Diamond.Got the email yesterday that the current caesar's status is good through Jan 31 2022. So not a bad time to have Diamond.
No resort fees when staying at Caesar properties (which could be up near $50/night at some places), access to Diamond lounges that have free food/drinks, free parking, access to faster lines at desks and what not, etc.I received Diamond status as a result of a conference I was at in December. booked my flight for the Saints/Raiders game!Buddies and I are starting to dream about our annual Vegas trip, and when I say dream I mean that in the sense of anything being normal enough by October/November enough that travel/gambling/football would make the trip worthwhile.
I am of the opinion that being on the Strip on any Sunday when the Raiders have a home game will be a nightmare for non-Raiders fans. One of the weekends we are looking at they are scheduled to play the Chiefs at home on SNF. Seems like a worst case scenario. Any thoughts?
Feedback on the level of poopshow the Strip will be for Raiders home game Sundays?booked my flight for the Saints/Raiders game!
I feel you. We were scheduled to leave in three weeks and that's not happening. I was planning on entering the Circa contest this year too.I'm supposed to be there right now.
Right now, the dream is to get there in time to enter the Circa Million, and back in December for the opening of the Circa resort. Hope is all I got right now.
