Made day 2.  Started with 10k. Ended with 29.5k.    373 left.  I'm 104th.  128 get paid.  Grinded like a mf with 4800 to 8 k chips levels 2 to 7.

I don't have an AJ offsuit busted on the turning river lingo to share, but took the fam to Vegas for the first time this week (their first time, not mine).  Had a great time despite the 115 degree hea

I have an offer for a free stay plus a free TV that can be up to 84 inches based on how much I play. I need a vaccine to go get one of these crazy deals.

Tremendous offers right now, but they will evaporate in the spring once the vaccine is widespread. I was offered $129 for 30th/31st at TI, would have easily been $1K last year.

With caesars rewards matching my hotel status and giving me diamond level, all their hotels rooms are basically free for the next few months with the exception of Nobu. Staying at Harrah’s 1/15-18, 0 resort fees makes it even sweeter

That weekend they are offering me luxury purses to play. If you have diamond, you should be able to get that offer. You also will have access to the casino hosts. I would call and ask.

Depends what you want to do.

Sit at the tables and go to bars? Yeah i think you are nuts.

Go enjoy beautiful weather, place sports wagers, walk around, lounge at pool, eat outside, no not crazy.

I would add there is so much awesome hiking around, but i am definitely in the minority there.

That's totally different and awesome

Did they give you anything you can use to show you were vaccinated?  Or is it honor system?

Weather even for those up north is not conducive to pools.  I think many are actually closed during the winter months.  It gets cold in Vegas.

I got a piece of paper that says the dates of my shots, doesn’t stop me from wearing a mask or social distancing but makes me more comfortable going places

The end of march is often in the 80's.

Eta: just looked at some historicals 70's is more accurate, not 80's

Figured this was based on historicals, but I have no idea how they modeled that.

I've been out in October a couple of times and it is always marginal at the pools. Though, perfect for Red Rock Canyon.

Buddy has been at Cosmo this weekend, he's been several times during all this.

Have not been to Vegas since 2015.

Want to go back badly.....but not until this virus is well under control and most of the population is vaccinated. Simply can’t even fathom handling chips, playing craps and having a normal great time in Vegas again until the Covid is really in the rear view mirror. Too much risk.

I am going to guess it is a bit outdated.

Imperial Palace
Our pool reopens on March 1. Our pooldeck is open for sunbathing and the whirlpool is also open. There is no bar service during the off months.

Just got back on Sunday from spending new years Eve at the Venetian.

Masks are required pretty much 100% of the time that you are out of your room, even on the strip.

Made the tables unplayable, I had zero interest in posting up masked up in a plastic stalls.  But the private dining and sportsbook was pretty much the same experience that I'm accustomed to.

Plastic stalls is kind of how i describe the venetian sportsbook in non covid times.

That's one of the things holding us back from going. We love the restaurants, shows and concerts so much that it's just not even close to the same type of trip without those.

FF League I run is celebrating our 20th year next year and we've decided to have the draft next year in Vegas to celebrate.

So I'm looking for recommendations from FBGs for a hotel suite (or more likely an executive suite) that's big enough to hold a draft. Some considerations:

1. We have a huge economic disparity amongst the group, one guy will be flying his own plane to Vegas while some others will likely have to dip into their savings to make this trip work.

2. I started looking into AirBnB/VRBOs off the Strip and I just don't see the point.  We're in Vegas, so minimal sleep, no down time, and need quick access to casinos, sports books, cabanas by the pool, etc.

3. I've stayed at one of the nicer suites at Wynn Encore, which would be perfect, but I'm really aiming for a more mid-level hotel (New York New York, Ballys, Trop, etc.) so everyone can possibly afford to stay there (see #1) but I'm not having any luck finding that.

Any and all advice is appreciated!

Thought I'd provide a quick update on the Vegas suites research I discussed above.  Mostly due to the recommendations you guys provided, here are the five choices I gave my league mates:

   1. Planet Hollywood
   2. Wynn-Encore
   3. Caesars Palace
   4. Vdara
   5. Golden Nugget - CIRCA

I offered to throw in $500 per night to cover the suite for two nights, with additional cost for these suites to be covered by each owner.  Keep in mind, these prices are for the first weekend of the NFL season, so I assume they may not be indicative of other weekends.  I included the following descriptions for each place, along with some cool photos of each suite (not shown here):

Hotel - Suite:  Planet Hollywood - Views Suite

Price $1,700/night – 1,255 sf w/ 1 BR

Individual Bedrooms (1 King or 2 Queens): $150-$200 min./night

Location: Central Strip, Great

Notes:  Older lower-end hotel, great location, awesome views of the Strip, cheaper individual rooms can make up for extra cost of suite.

Extra Cost to Each Owner: $220

Hotel - Suite:  Wynn Encore – Suite Parlor

Price $1,300/night – 2,100 sf w/ 1 BR

Ind. Bedrooms (1 King or 2 Queens): $500 min./night

Location: North Strip, Pretty Good

Notes:  Only 5-Star Hotel on our list.  Luxury Vegas experience compared to other options, but still reasonable if you’re willing to share a room.

Extra Cost to Each Owner: $150

Hotel – Suite:  Caesar’s Palace – Julius Premium Suite

Price $1,000/night – 1,450 sf w/ 1 BR

Ind. Bedrooms (1 King or 2 Queens): $300 min./night

Location: Central-North Strip, Very Good

Notes:  Getting older, but solid location/casino/pool/bars/hotel amenities

Extra Cost to Each Owner: $100

Hotel - Suite:  Vdara – Hospitality Suite

Price $800/night – 1,600 sf w/ 2 BR

Ind. Bedrooms (Studios): $175/night

Location: Central City, Pretty Good

Notes:  Most overall bang-for-buck for something on the Strip, but have to walk to other casinos, don’t think there’s much of pool scene, Sports Book, bars, restaurants, etc.

Extra Cost to Each Owner: $70

Hotel - Suite: Golden Nugget Suite

Price $500/night – 1,200 sf w/ 1 BR Loft

CIRCA Ind. Bedrooms (1 King or 2 Queens): $300 min./night

Location: Downtown, so major downgrade from the Strip, but CIRCA might make it worth it

Notes: I get a Suite at Golden Nugget for our draft, but we all get rooms at CIRCA, and hang out there.  CIRCA is a brand-new hotel, 21+ only, featuring Stadium style Sports Book (biggest in Vegas) with INSANE Video-Screens-Pool.

Extra Cost to Each Owner:  $0

I allowed each owner to vote for their Top 2 selections, and here's the final tally:

Golden Nugget - CIRCA - 7 votes

Caesars Palace - 5 votes

Planet Hollywood - 2 votes

Wynn-Encore - 3 votes

Vdara - 1 vote

So we booked rooms at CIRCA and got a suite at the Golden Nugget.  Guys in the league are excited to check out CIRCA.

Thanks to the FGBs for all for your input!

Curious, do you have your draft in a hotel suite, or somewhere else?  All stay at the same hotel?

We do it mostly on the cheapish.  We do not all stay at the same hotel..I can see the appeal in that as getting everyone at the same place at any point in a Vegas trip can be like herding cats.

One guy has status or points or whatever and typically gets an upgraded room with enough extra space to host a draft..but not a full on suite that houses multiple people for the weekend.

Enjoy!

Circa sounds like a lot of fun.  I definitely want to check it out son.  You should enjoy your trip.

Surprised you didn't look into doing Caesar's/Flamingo split though.  When we do groups in Vegas, that seems to be our go to.  Caesar's for anyone with a little pocket money and Flamingo for those who wanna do it cheap.  Given that it's a 5 minute walk from Flamingo's casino to Caesar's it just always seemed to be the best situation for us.

Good thought, and Caesar's probably would have been the choice for our group if it weren't for CIRCA.

Would also suggest AllTrails.com. It lists tons of hikes all over the country. This is my go-to when I travel anywhere and need to get a hike in. I also recommend downloading their app and paying for their premium service. It is essential for me when hiking and want to stay on trail (or go off-trail for something but want to find my way back). You can use the offline version in conjunction with your phones GPS to track your hike even if you don't have cell service.
