Love The Beatles, but I think the Aerosmith version is an improvement.

i'd add to this, bouncing souls "man in black" > Cash's version:I know Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire" is held in high regards, I think the Social Distortion version is better.
I enjoy Muse's version but I think Nina Simone's is betterFeeling Good by Muse ( original Cy Grant on the album Cy & I, with Bill Lesage)
The extended instrumental of Cortez is pretty damn awesome, but the bulk of the song sounds exactly like Young's version. Didn't even need to change his voice to get Young's semi-nasal high pitch. Might have to convert that one to an mp3.I don't know about those, but two covers that are on par, and as sacrilege as it sounds, maybe better than the originals:Cortez the Killer - Dave Matthews with Warren Haynes
Little Wing - Stevie RAY VAUGHN
Built To Spill
Derek and the Dominos
We will have to agree to disagreeI enjoy Muse's version but I think Nina Simone's is betterFeeling Good by Muse ( original Cy Grant on the album Cy & I, with Bill Lesage)
How does something like this come into play? The Beelzebubs are an a cappella group from Tufts University. For those that don't know a cappella is music without any instruments.
It is their cover of Ozzy Ozborne's Crazy Train.

This is the first one that came to mind for me. Warren Haynes shreds on this in Central park show. It's an all timer! Mammas and Papas covered Dedicated to the One I love pretty great also if you like that kinda thing. The extended instrumental of Cortez is pretty damn awesome, but the bulk of the song sounds exactly like Young's version. Too each his own, but I would rank that as among the worst covers.Turn the page - Metallica

Always liked it better than the Bob Seger version
As far as Metallica covers go, I would prefer their version of Whiskey In the Jar.Too each his own, but I would rank that as among the worst covers.Turn the page - Metallica

I would prefer it also...to a kick in the balls. Otherwise it's nearly identical to Thin Lizzy's version except Hetfield keeps saying "jar-ooooohhhhhaaaahhhh". It is on his double disc greatest hits alum that I own.Haven't read the thread, but Sinead O'Connor's version of "Nothing Compares to you", is better than the version by The Family. Although, I'm dying to hear the original Prince version. It's never been released as far as I know.
yuckLive and Let Die - Guns 'n' Roses (Paul McCartney and Wings original)Joe Cocker - Little Help from my Friends (originally by Beatles)
I like Bowie's from "Pin Ups"No slight to the Kinks, but I think VH's version of "Where Have All The Good Times Gone" is superior.
It's KEVIN'S.......just sayin'26 posts and no "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" - Guns n' Roses?
I'll have to check it out but I find it hard to believe thatFields of Gold - Eva Cassidy Original by Sting
Except that wasn't Marilyn Manson. And Floyd's version is better anyway."Personal Jesus" and "Another Brick In The Wall" - Marilyn Manson I also like "Tainted Love" and "Sweet Dreams" but probably prefer the originals.
http://www.mansonwiki.com/wiki/List_of_fake_Marilyn_Manson_songs#.22Another_Brick_in_the_Wall_Pt._2.22"Another Brick in the Wall Pt. 2""Another Brick in the Wall Pt. 2" is often credited as performed by Marilyn Manson. The song was in fact performed by a little-known supergroup called Class of '99, featuring vocals by Layne Staley of Alice in Chains and guitar by Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave fame. It is a cover, originally written and performed by Pink Floyd in 1979. The song can be found on the soundtrack for the film "The Faculty", featuring Salma Hayek.
find that hard to believe but I'll check that out as well"Gold Dust Woman" - Hole

Agreed, can't stand the way Hetfield says certain words. Thin Lizzy and The Dubliners' versions are my favorites.I would prefer it also...to a kick in the balls. And you're always wrong - on their entire catalogue being covers, that is. Not even close.I always answer Led Zeppelin - entire catalogue on this one.
Agreed. Can't stand Joe Cocker and McCartney's Live and Let Die is much better than GnR in my opinion.yuckLive and Let Die - Guns 'n' Roses (Paul McCartney and Wings original)Joe Cocker - Little Help from my Friends (originally by Beatles)
I like this version by nina simone A touch of melancholy and a touch of class all in one.
That's a live version with Rosie Gaines (of NOG), right? It's good, but it's not his studio version that he made for The Family. There are rumors that The Family recorded right over Prince's original, but I doubt (or I don't want to think about that) being true.It is on his double disc greatest hits alum that I own.Haven't read the thread, but Sinead O'Connor's version of "Nothing Compares to you", is better than the version by The Family.
