RB Alex Collins, SEA (2 Viewers)

River dancing his way into Russ’ kitchen!

This dude is electric with the football in his hands (when he can hold onto it). If he can somehow work his way into the lineup, I’m buying.

Detroit Lions reportedly host ex-Ravens RB Alex Collins for visit

This article covers Collins career path so far pretty well.

The reason I say the Seahawks must be desperate is not because I think Collins is a bad football player, but because they drafted him, never trusted him, cut him, he played alright for the Ravens following that but Harbaugh never seemed to trust him either. Ball security issues then off the field stuff that caused them to cut him.

I suppose they are familiar with him as he was with their team before. Its just rare to see a team give up on a player they drafted to actually acquire that player again.

Sounds like SEA is having him tested for COVID. Doesn’t he have to quarantine a week before he can join their Practice Squad though? They’ll probably have some healthy RBs back by then. Given they only have Dallas and the FB available, it seems a mistake they didn’t have at least one RB on their PS already, ready to go.

Either way, I dropped Mo Alie-Cox for him in a deep dynasty league. More out of frustration with the 3-way TE situation in Indy than any really confidence in Collins, plus having too many TEs rostered that I “can’t” cut to begin with.

He took it on the chin though. A lot of guys don't ever get a second chance. I hope he's straightened out and makes the most of it.

Pete Carroll seems to love his RBs and he makes them earn every yard with the situations he puts them into. They're always tough guys that can both catch N run.

I don't think this is the match he wants. I think he wants that former Seahawk that played in the XFL (can't think of his name) or a FB because I tell ya a FB getting carries would be just fine in that offense, but ...good for Collins. I wish that guy well

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said he's "very comfortable" with playing RB Alex Collins this week against the Bills.

Signed to the Seahawks' practice squad on October 30, Collins could see action Sunday against Buffalo with both Chris Carson (hand) and Carlos Hyde (hamstring) out for Seattle. We wouldn't say it's out of the question for Collins to handle a decent workload alongside rookie DeeJay Dallas, who served as the team's primary ball carrier in Week 8. Collins can be left on the waiver wire in all but the deepest fantasy formats.
IT'S HAPPENNING AGAIN YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHH RUN IT BYKE!

Seahawks promoted RB Alex Collins from the practice squad.

Collins was just signed to the practice squad eight days ago, but coach Pete Carroll has already said he will be "very comfortable" with Collins getting reps against the Bills on Sunday. Chris Carson (foot) and Carlos Hyde (hamstring) are both out for the second consecutive week. DeeJay Dallas figures to lead the Seahawks' backfield, but Collins will probably mix in for some touches on early downs. Travis Homer will mix in for a few touches, but Dallas is the only back we would be comfortable FLEXing in fantasy.

ESPN's Brady Henderson reports RB Alex Collins is "appeared to receive the most reps of any Seattle running back" in offseason practices with Chris Carson, Travis Homer, and Rashaad Penny absent.

Penny is still recovering from knee surgery, Homer is struggling with a calf issue, and Carson missed minicamp due to personal matters. Collins, 27 in August, appeared in three games for Seattle in 2020, turning 18 carries into 77 yards and two touchdowns. Once a workhorse for the Ravens, Collins profiles as the likeliest primary rusher if Carson and Penny miss time in 2021. Homer is more of a pass-catching specialist when healthy. Collins could be a much sought-after waiver wire add for RB-needy teams this season if he makes the Seahawks final roster.

Alex Collins is a super-cheap late round RB flyer and all he has to do ensure that value is work hard (like he always has) and let Penny continue to suck or be injured as he has done his entire NFL "career".

We gonna need a thread title change, @Borden.

Alex Collins rushed 10 times for 37 yards and a touchdown in the Seahawks' preseason finale against the Chargers.

Collins also added seven receptions for 52 yards, capping off a compiling preseason. Some Seahawks observers have suggested Collins could be pushing Rashaad Penny for No. 2 duties behind Chris Carson. Were Penny to be a "surprise" trade or release, Collins would offer plenty of insurance back value behind the violent-running Carson.

I picked him up in my Dynasty leagues as a flyer pick. He passed the eye test tonight. Carson missed some games last year, and Penny is Penny.

The Athletic's Michael-Shawn Duggar said RB Alex Collins is unlikely to carve out a larger role in Seattle's backfield.

Questions about Collins' usage arised after the veteran rushed ten times for 44 yards and a touchdown in the Seahawks' Week 4 win over the Niners. Duggar said Collins will continue spelling Chris Carson when Carson needs a breather, dismissing talk of a looming timeshare in the Seattle backfield. "Could Seattle game plan for an even distribution of snaps between Collins and Carson? Sure. Is Seattle likely to do that? No," he said. "Collins, even when he’s playing well, is effectively in the same tough spot Rashaad Penny was slated to be in: He’s being asked to excel in clean-up duty, a tough position for running backs to execute consistently. The good news for Seattle is Collins appears far more equipped to make the most out of minimal opportunities than Penny." Fantasy managers looking to take advantage of backfield injuries should roster Collins this week.

He's always seemed pretty explosive when he carries the ball. There clearly must be something underneath it all why he hasn't stuck anywhere very long.

Carson owner.

After I put in a claim for D. Williams and Perine (and I wont get either) I'm going for Collins.

You've got the clear handcuff in a good offense and Collins would have standalone value if this sharing continues (which I hope it doesn't).

Not usually a handcuff guy. For example, I own Ekeler but I'm not chasing Roundtree/Jackson/Kelley.

Seattle had a glut of good backs back in the day and let him go

He had a good year in Baltimore, but they changed the blocking scheme, and he did poorly with that (3.6 ypc) and then he had off field issues, so he was an easy cut there.

Welp, now really hoping I land Collins tonight. Hope this news is late enough it stays off my league's radar.

Seahawks RB Chris Carson did not practice on Tuesday due to a neck injury.

Carson has seen his snap share drop below 50% over the past two weeks, so it's fair to wonder whether something has been bothering him. The Seahawks have a short week before playing the Rams on Thursday, so it'll be critical to monitor reports over the next couple of days to evaluate how much can be expected of Carson against a fierce Los Angeles front.

Besides some off field stuff that never helped his cause, the biggest problem Collins had was fumbles. With the Ravens he was fumbling at a pretty insane clip and Harbs wasn’t having it.

It’s a shame though as he was most electrifying runner in that Ravens RB room by far. The kid was honestly just a pleasure to watch run, as he is clearly talented. And the RiverDance thing was good for a laugh as well. If/when Carson goes down and he gets a crack at starting in that offense, it could be special.

Just grabbed him after Waivers ran. I thought for sure the Carson owner would put in for him but I guess not. Worth a stash to wait for the inevitable Carson injury and then see what Seattle does.

Definitely watching Carson, but there up is really good chance that with the Thursday game, Carson was just resting yesterday.

He went #8 in 14 team dynasty to Carson team. Only other claims were me at 9 and other guy at 10.

Welcome Home Alex (previously owned him in my dynasty league)......got him for nothing this morning. Carson has a history of missing time....and Collins always ran hard. Just hold onto the ball kid.

Carroll did trust him with significant carries Sunday, so that is a positive….

Grabbed him after waivers ran in the league he didn’t get claimed. (Facing Carson owner) Easy drop if it’s nothing since it’s a Thursday game.

Added him to the roster last night….things appear to be pointing up…will be interested to see his usage this week.

While I expect he would get the early down work, my concern is how much Deejay Dallas would be used in the passing game.

I picked him up this morning, but I hate Seattle's run game so much. It is the Russ show and Seattle's defense is so bad that they will continue to throw most games.

If P. Carroll has a brain in his head the game plan focuses on running the ball this week.

You don't beat LAR throwing all day. Ramsey will lock up Metcalf and you don't want that pass rush killing Wilson.

AZ just ran all over LAR and in week 1 D. Montgomery ran well also.

Just swiped him in redraft in a couple of places on the basis of what's been said in the Carson thread re: his neck issue, on the assumption that Carson is out, what are you all thinking for Collins' likely production tonight? My RB situation in said leagues sucks so probably starting him here, but this is a bit of an "I'm starting Collins over..." situation

If Carson is inactive, I'm leaning towards starting Collins over M. Pittman.

LAR run D is not all that.

That said, I could see T. Homer being an annoyance. Especially if LAR gets up big.

I just heard on ESPN "This just in" show that Carson is not expected to play tonight. Not sure if 100% true but they said that during the show just now

I'm jacked and pumped.  :wall:

Whole team injured and underperforming expectations. Fun hobby.

Edit- with Ridley and Carson injured I'm running Collins and Michael Carter out there this week. Wheee!!

ESPN Fantasy dropped their Carson projection down to 0 about an hour ago.

A. Collins up to 13 in PPR.

I picked up Collins last night. More of a longer term lotto as I didn’t like the sound of a neck injury with Carson. That could go being out a long time with 1 hit or setback. Have options. Right now I had Murray in there for the flex. Ravens should easily handle the Colts so thinking positive game script. Also have Marvin Jones vs TN. I think Collins will get his tonight as they will focus on stopping Russ. Torn

Have Murray as well in PPR. Right now going with A. Collins over Murray.

That said, I like your logic.
