WR Preston Williams, MIA (2 Viewers)

Preston Williams caught 3-of-5 targets for 60 yards in the Dolphins' Week 5 loss to the Bucs.

With DeVante Parker (hamstring) inactive and Will Fuller on I.R., Williams got his first real look of the season as the starter opposite Jaylen Waddle. Williams was targeted four times on Jacoby Brissett's first 10 throws but did nothing after halftime. If Parker needs to miss more time, Williams will get another start next week against the Jaguars.

Preston Williams (core) is listed as questionable for Week 7 against the Falcons.

Williams was limited all week after missing Sunday's loss to Jacksonville. He's headed for another game-time decision and seems unlikely to be fully healthy. With DeVante Parker (hamstring) also questionable, Williams may not have much of a target share if he plays.

Dolphins declared WR Preston Williams out for Week 8 against the Bills.

Williams appears to be a healthy scratch. The third-year wide receiver battled a groin/core injury earlier this season, but was active for Week 7 and has not reportedly suffered a setback. Preston is not traveling with the team, and his early inactive status could be a good sign for DeVante Parker's (hamstring) availability against the Bills.

The Miami Herald's Barry Jackson considers the Dolphins unlikely to tender an offer to impending restricted free agent Preston Williams.

Jackson is as plugged into the Dolphins as any reporter is to any team. This year's "low" RFA tender checks in at $2.43 million, something the Dolphins assuredly will not pay after Williams fell behind Mack Hollins on the depth chart and was frequently healthy scratched down the stretch in 2021. Jackson does believe the Dolphins could be open to bringing Williams back at a lower price, however. Williams had the looks of a multi-year contributor in the Dolphins' receiver corps before suffering a serious foot injury celebrating a touchdown in Nov. 2020. This was after his rookie year in 2019 ended with a torn ACL. Two major lower-body injuries do not bode well for a 6-foot-5 wideout's movement skills going forward. Williams is probably closer to washing out of the league than becoming a 2022 contributor.

Dolphins re-signed WR Preston Williams to a one-year contract.

Williams was on the precipice of a rookie breakout in 2019 but a torn ACL cut his season short. He then suffered a foot injury that ended his 2020 season. A groin injury kept Williams off the field for a few games last year, but some of his nine absences were healthy scratches. The injuries appear to have sapped him of his athleticism, making him nothing more than a backup wide receiver. With Cedrick Wilson joining the team on a multi-year deal this offseason, Williams will be fighting for WR4 duties this summer.

Miami had been trying to trade both Williams and Bowden and could not find an interested party.
Bowden had a great camp and looks the part of an NFL WR when they called his number also can return punts, Chicago lost Grant I believe, maybe he can catch on there.

Surely someone will claim him. I've always like the guy. He seems to have been snake bit and I hope he gets a new chance and can stay on the field.
