By the way, I still watch Sopranos re-runs on A&E. And I was wondering: are they purposely driving me insane? It seems like they jump all over the place with episodes at times and they are not being shown chronologically.
They run one chronology from Monday-Friday and then they are running a separate chronology on Saturday-Sunday.The Saturday-Sunday run just finished season 1. Monday-Friday is in season 6, now I think.

Ahhhh I didn't know that.
Also, during the Monday-Friday runs, there's usually at least 1 and sometimes 2 days a week that they don't show Sopranos.

What is story behind all the Pu55y nicknames?
As Chrissy told Matt and Sean when they were robbing the place that sold stockings, Sal started off as a cat burglar. Cat = pu55y. He always got nervous on jobs. "One time he left a load so big, the cops thought a bear was in the place."
Interesting. So the other guys with the same nicknames likely also started as cat burglers?

Yeah. I noticed. That's weird.

I would assume so.

:goodposting: You expect to have a little Sopranos break in the afternoon, then you see that "The First 48" is on instead.

Furthermore, it's not like A&E is showing live sports. Keep The Sopranos as an every-day appointment already.

I own all of the DVD's but every so often I come across a show on A&E. I can't watch it for more than 2 minutes because the cuts and edits are so distracting.

Looking at the guide for the next couple weeks and maybe it wasn't as simple as I thought. Monday-Friday still in season 6, but this weekend they will show the first 3 episodes from of season 4 (?!). Then the following weekend, the will show the first episode of season 2 and then go back to Season 4.http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0141842/tvschedule

Maybe they will have 3 separate strings, one for M-F, one for Sat and one for Sun(?) But last Sunday was season 1, so I really have no idea what they are doing.

"Hes a faaaaaag"

Bobby: "Well we cant have him in the social club no more, that much I do know"

Carlo: "Social club?!? HES GOTTA GOOO"

I retract just about everything I originally said about "Stage 5." That episode is greatness. I don't know what the hell I was thinking when I panned that episode after the first viewing. Must have been stuck on stupid that week.

Which episode is that?
The second episode of 6B. The main focuses are Johnny Sack's battle with cancer, which he loses, and the release of "Cleaver," and the underlying tension that is further escalated between Tony and Christopher.

Gary Cooper was gay?
"He was gay, Gary Cooper?"Sorry, I am a stickler for Sopranos quotes being accurate. :P :D

And that is a terrific scene in an otherwise meh episode. I love how Patsy and Christopher keep their mouths shut (except for that Gary Cooper crack by Christopher) while Silvio tries to calm down Tony's ranting. "You gotta a wife who's a piece of ###...least she was when you married her." :lmao:

Watching Pine Barrens...of all the actors available, Chase picked the perfect two for crazy.

"He's trained for this ##. It's like Die Hard ##."

"Not bad. Mix it with the relish."

"What u been eatin...steak?"

"What are those...tick tacs?" "I just found 'em." "Selfish #####...I'm dying here." "Then die already."

"Impossible to please. Does that remind you of any other woman?"

"Pine Barrens" is easily the funniest Sopranos episode ever, and if I wanted to convert someone over with a single episode, that would be the one. Even though it is near the end of Season 3, you could get the gist of everything going on pretty quickly (Tony having a g/f, who is a little crazy, on the side, Meadow's b/f cheating on her, etc.).

But I still say that "Long Term Parking" is the best episode of the show ever, but you had to have watched the entire series to understand and grasp the full impact of that episode.

That was absolutely a spectacular episode, but the intervention scene (don't remember what the episode was called) was maybe the funniest 5-10 minutes of television that I've ever seen.

The intervention scene was awesome. The episode as a whole ("The Strong, Silent Type") was a very good one; probably middle of the pack for Season 4.

Overall, the biggest problems with Season 4 were:

-Bobby/Janice - Far too many boring scenes with Janice trying to get in good with Bobby and his kids. It's amazing...as great a chemistry as she had with Gandolfini (did those two ever have a scene together that was less-than-stellar), she seemed to have very little with Steve Schirripa.

-Carmela's cousin, Brian - Seriously, was there a more boring and unmemorable supporting actor on the show, ever?

-Carmela/Furio - It is hard to fully knock this because it resulted in some of the best acting that Edie Falco did on the show, but seeing them turn Furio from a tough guy into a big wuss was awful at times.

It was painful at times, but the moment when Furio briefly considered pushing Tony into the airplane propeller was, to me, the only time during the run of the series where I thought that Tony seriously might get taken out.

Eh, that was a great scene, and it was tense there for a second, but I never actually thought Furio would do it. I guess the part of me that knew that they would never take Tony out (unless it was at the end of the series) kicked in there. :moneybag:

I HATED the Carm/Furio thing. Easily one of the worst storylines in the show's history in my opinion. The only redeeming quality it had was it led to one of the best Tony-Carm "fights" ever. Gandolfini and Falco were both electric in that scene when Tony punches his hand through the wall. That was great. But the Carm/Furio storyline was nauseatingly awful. The only storyline worse was the Vito gay storyline. That was truly awful.I recently watched the final few episodes of Season 3 on Demand and I had forgotten all about Janice's narcoleptic boyfriend. That was outstanding. :moneybag:

"Have you heard the news? He is risen."

:moneybag: :pickle: :gang1:

Getting back to Carmela and Furio, I cannot remember which episode it is, but there is a scene where she is just electric for the whole 30 seconds. It is where she greets Furio at the door, all dressed up, but he says he has to stay in the car to keep his foot on the pedal. She goes from excited to see him to disappointed and hurt in literally seconds, and you can see it all over her face and body language (the way she nervously moves her hands, for example). I am always amazed at her flawless acting in the scene.

Tony erupting in laughter when Bobby walks in in that hunting outfit is awesome

What's funny about that is Steve Schirripa got James Gandolfini to laugh like that by strapping a dildo around his waist when he came out (Bobby is off screen when Tony first starts laughing). And if you watch, Dominic Chianese almost breaks character by laughing, too, but doesn't.

Your head was in the toilet. Disgusting. (Silvio with his pinky extended like an Englishmen drinking tea).
Everything Sil does make me laugh...from the way he spot cleans a tie to the way he eats popcorn...
You and me both. Just his delivery is so hilarious. There is an episode (it might be "Long Term Parking") where Tony calls Sil on the phone at the Bada Bing, and he is cleaning stuff off his suit jacket, and just the way he says, "Bing," when he answers is a riot.

Interesting looking at the imdb site and seeing what the highest ranked are.

Top 10, according to the site:

1. "Pine Barrens"

2. "The Blue Comet"

3. "Funhouse"

4. "Long Term Parking"

5. "Whitecaps"

6. "The Knight in White Satin Armour"

7. "I Dream of Jeannie Cusamano"

8. "Whoever Did This"

9. "Isabella"

10. "Kennedy and Heidi"

Hard to argue with any of those, as they are all great, but "The Happy Wanderer" and "Marco Polo" are two episodes that are highly underrated, if you ask me.

Just watched For All Debts Public and Private.

So did that cop really kill Dickie Moltisanti (Christaphuh's old man) or was Tony testing Chrissy?

It is both hilarious and sad how the story evolves from Dickie bringing home a card table to Dickie bringing home a crib for a baby Christaphuh.

Great ending, with Imperioli pinning the 20 the fridge and saying to his mom, "make me a fluffernutter."

Yes, the cop killed Christopher's father. If you listen, as the cop crawls away right before Chris shoots him, you can hear twice say, "I'm sorry." Plus, the look on his face when Christopher told him who he was said it all. The cop knew he was screwed. Ultimately, Tony's motivation for Chris doing it was to get Chris back in his good graces. He knew Chris was questioning his leadership ability after the Jackie Jr. mess (highlighted by their argument at the end of "Armour Fou" and then Chris basically turning his back on Tony at the Bing in "Army of One" and then trying to apologize later and Tony just walking away from him at JJ's wake), and he knew that by giving him the man who killed his father, Chris would be very loyal to Tony once again.

I think my work in this thread is just about done. Ghost seems to answer every question just as I would. I've taught him well. :wall:

Watched a couple episodes with Meadow's biracial boyfriend Noah this week. He is officially the biggest ######bag in TV history.

:goodposting: When Carmela comes to see Meadow at her dorm, and he is there, he manages to capture that title in that two minute scene. Between saying Tony was lucky he didn't punch his lights out :lmao: and refusing to leave the room when Carmela nicely asked him to, he managed to perfect being a d-bag.

Just re-watched the scene where Carmella visits Dr. Krakower, the psychiatrist that Melfi recommends to her - Melfi's former professor. I think this is one of the greatest scenes in TV history. Brilliant.

Interesting tidbit from IMDB:

The original air-date of this episode was 8 April 2001. Sully Boyar (who played Dr. Krakower, Carmela's would-be therapist) died of a heart attack a few weeks earlier on 23 March 2001. Director Mike Nichols was originally cast as Dr. Krakower but had to bow out. Sully Boyar plays Krakower but Nichols was still credited in the original broadcast. This was corrected in the DVD and all subsequent repeats.
Sully Boyar is so incredible in this role, so realistic, I just assumed he was a real psychiatrist. Turns out he's a veteran actor with tons of TV work on his bio page.

Agreed. He was amazing. His pic, for those who can't place the name.I love his dry reply when Carm was explaining how Tony was trying to be a better husband... not cheat on her, etc.

"How's that working out?"

Superb. Sorry to hear he passed.

Watching "Pie-Oh-My"...underrated Season 4 ep. Adrianna with the club and feds...Tony's financial strife with Carmella. And some good comedy:

Ralphie: "Tell that midget not to be shy with the wip."

Herman: "If only his mother had taken that advice."

Ralphie having to keep upping the ante to Tony after the 2nd win.

Junior getting upset about his sketch, then intimidating the artist.

Vito breaking the chair.
