and the corner goal for 4-2...

And because its Spurs and, like united, they make it interesting, it ends Tottenham 4-3 United

Jonny Evans getting a goal.

Conference League is where its at. La Masia grad Mark Guiu can't get a start for Chelsea in the league but finished the League Phase as top goalscorer with 6 after a first half hat trick today against Shamrock Rovers in London.

I mean, it's kind of crazy how bad this run is for them. 1 win in their last 12??!! Dating back to the end of October?

And they still have a run of games next month with Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Tottenham all in a row (and followed by Nottingham Forest and Brighton, both of which will be difficult opponents).

I haven't watched them at all... But with that group of players, it's absolutely insane.

Looking at the table, there's really some interesting things this season:

1) While still a lot of season left, it's insane that Southampton is potentially threatening to have the lowest scoring season ever. They have 1 win after 16 games and are sitting on 5 points. 2 more losses and they'll be "officially" on pace to break the record. And their -25 GD is insanely bad. It's 9 goals worse than the next worst GD.

2) Tottenham with only 1 goal behind the most goals scored in the league and a +17 GD, also 1 behind the lead, yet they aren't even in the top 10 of the table right now. Of course they can potentially jump to 7th with a win tomorrow against Liverpool, but that's still kinda nuts.

3) If you told me at the start of the season that just before Boxing Day, City isn't even qualifying for Europa, I'd have lost a lot of money on that wager.

4) I'd have lost even more if you told me Nottingham Forest would be sitting with a CL spot in 3rd place.

5) Brentford REALLY likes playing at home.

Home record: 7-1-1
Away record: 0-1-7

Forest just as surprising to me as City.

Not ready to say the team is as good yet since that front line of Mane-Firmino-Salah may stand forever, but the midfield of Gravenberch-Mac Allister-Szoboszlai is better than the Fabino-Henderson-Wijnaldum midfield that won 3* EPL titles.

The current trio is even more mobile, with even better engines, every bit as tenacious defensively, and they pop up more often with goals.

I didn't look up previous seasons, but the four main mids this year (Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Szoboszlai and Jones) have 8G + 8A in about 5900 minutes so far this year (EPL and CL combined).

Has to be better than what they had during the Klopp era.

This is such an incredible situation. Two summers ago they had zero midfield and were being outbid by Chelsea for all their targets. Their recruitment team is amazing, because this midfield is one of the best in the EPL right now.

Watching on my phone, but did VAR even look at that red for Bruno? Looked like he came down on the wolves foot but not red worthy. Hard to see and no sound.

Now a goal. Because of course.

Damn Spurs. Fittingly, it was between them and Nottingham Forest for my team selection. :<_<:
Yeah, but would you rather have 1 really good year near the top of the table or many years of being 5th/6th? :oldunsure:
5/6th and where every year that 1 new shiny player makes you think... THIS is the year!

Based on last year, I thought Forest was going to be relegated this year.
Chris Wood is unstoppable? Seriously?
