Will Chelsea sell Fabregas by Wednesday? How many teams are there who couldn't use a player like Cesc? In the one sub appearance he had last week, looked fantastic.

@Ned 's favorite La Liga team; Leganes...just kicked off their first ever home La Liga game.  I'm a sucker for stuff like this, the pregame was awesome.

I'd buy a kit if they were available. :towelwave:

Greaseman and his high waters are gonna get a good throttling.

@El Floppo... Inter is down 1-0 to Palermo, AT THE SAN SIRO.  Palermo is really bad. Not being a #####, just shocked.  DeBoer is unfairly gonna feel the heat already, because, you know...Italy.

Final:1-1

On the positive, Banega & Candreva were impressive .

Watched the morning game today... yugh. I'd say it was like watching MLS, except it was way below MLS level.

Oh. Wait. I'm watching RBs vs Revs... it was at Revs level.

Andy.. whats happened to them? They look absolutely amateurish. Lack basic skills, shape is terrible with gaps all over the field, and theyre defending deep inside their third. And I'm using the word "defending" very loosely.

Neighborhood legend Muyl is looking awfully good though.

It has been like that since the season started.  The team has plenty of talent compared to the rest of the league but are playing like complete crap.

Losing Germany Jones lost any bite the team had and Heaps has found a way to minimize both Fagundez and Agudelo to almost non entities.  MVLee has been anything but MVPish as he has turned into a completely average player, coincidentally right after he finally signed a new deal.

I am looking forward to the Seattle Portland game today.  If anyone has not got a chance to see Lodeiro, you should check him out.  He is the second best player in the league IMO behind only Giovinco.

There was a chance Lodeiro would have to miss this game if called early by Uruguay (FIFA has a rule where countries can call players extra early from clubs if they are travelling between continents) but it looks like Lodeiro will just leave after this game is over.

That Bobby Wood duck-breaker was a legit striker's goal.  Had a lot to do.
I loved it too!  Pure old fashioned route one football (I think the keeper had the assist).  I love him holding off the bigger player and still getting a quick powerful shot off.

I am really looking forward to seeing Wood and Jozy together (assuming Jozy's hamstring can live through a Klinsmann camp).

Strong chin too.  He deserved to take that one off his face given how bad that giveaway was.  Really terrible job by Bilbao not putting it away.
Both teams had a lot of clear chances for only one goal to be scored.

I'm just saying it's the only way to resolve these guys' Zoolander/Hansel like rivalry.
"Pelle... he's so hot right now...Pelle"?

eta: How apropos for this repartee...believe it or not, I am literally enjoying a glass of pink lemonade, while nursing a boo-boo... :lmao:

That was one hell of an ending.  4 goals scored from the 79th minute on.

Here is Lampard's 93rd minute winner

Yeah...DC's defense just fell apart.  Gifted Villa his goal (though to be fair NYCFC was building to a goal anyway) and while the two Lampard goals were good finishes no one really tracked him into the box from midfield.

NYCFC can get 5 guys high in a hurry (especially when they have Harrison and Mendoza on the left and Shelton on the right with Villa and Lampard streaming into the box) and teams have trouble with that especially since Villa and Lampard are clinical.  With Pirlo providing support, it puts teams in a real quandary.  Of course that setup is a sieve with the age up the middle, but it is fun to watch when they are attacking.

I watched the NYC game vs Orlando over the weekend. totally agree with sammy about NYC's ability to attack in numbers- and really should have put a couple more in vs Orlando. the game losing goal they gave up was so amateurishly bad... woof. defender collects a ball at the corner of his box- and then stands there with it looking around. orlando players strips him, passes off for the easy goal. it was like u12- but not even any kind of select u12.

but yeah- lampard just knows where to be, has enough left in the tank to get there, and has the skills to finish. Villa is still playing at a very high level- skillwise, and work-wise. Pirlo- like Lamps is using his experience and skills to do most of the work. really fun to watch... really hope to see them live before it's all gone.

Yeah, this was bad for DC, who were finally beginning to look like they were finding a little something this season.  They were unbeaten through six games, but more relevantly, had started playing some attractive stuff.  Acosta has really settled into the team and Patrick Mullins was having his yearly hot streak where you wonder why he's never become a consistent starter before.  Sam had also helped a lot, which is only fair considering how he tortured DC when he was with NYRBs.  DCs defense without Birnbaum is shaky, though.  Particularly if Hamid isn't standing on his head.

NYCFC is one of the most fun teams to watch in MLS that I can remember, because they're just such a shaggy dog collection of unbalanced parts that I can't believe Viera manages to get some semblance of shape out of them.  I will never not love Lamps' goals out of midfield.  I've never seen another guy like him.
