⚽ Soccer Match-day Thread (3 Viewers)

Interesting to hear the commentators saying that it doesn’t matter how hard you touch somebody’s face, you just don’t do it, or it’s a red. I don’t remember that from my playing days.
When I played - what Martial did might have gotten a yellow.

But, today - its like the hand ball - its a bright line, you just can't cross.

Lazio and Inter each had a man sent off for what Martial did, even less.  I think it’s more an orange card but since they don’t have that option it’s a harsh but deserved red.  Don’t swing at another guys face    United just terrible today.  Shaw is slow and now clueless. They did sign Telles earlier but that’s not going to turn things around on a dime like Bruno did last year.  And now they chasing Cavani? Oof

Yeah, seems that way. I remember Lazar Markovich sent off for a hand to the face when holding a defender off, accidentally. I didn’t get it then, and don’t get it now. Guess it just is what it is. Makes it easier for the refs I guess. No gray zone.

Not that it matters much, but that 4th goal had a clear offside runner in front of goal and he let's the ball cross in front of him to get out wide and then sent back in. How is that runner not affecting play?

Just one of those days.

But its gonna leave a mark (on both Man United and Liverpool), and probably have a long-term effect on the race for top-4 and title.  Goal-differential could be a factor...

How that wasn't a red card against Pickford is insane. Knocked VVD out of the game. No card given at all.

Game changing decision.

VAR completely ####s a game again. Just took away the game winning goal from Liverpool over a millimeter.

What a refereeing disaster by VAR all game long.

11' in Derby Milan award a PK on a sloppy challenge by Inter on Ibra.

Ibra has PK saved by Hadanovic but spills it straight to Ibra on the porch who buries it for 1-0 Milan lead. The Lion has returned. 13'

Watched the Chelsea game.  No idea why CP was played out of position, but he still looked pretty good today.  Definitely doesn't have the legs back as he started to lose effectiveness late in the second.

Wow Chelsea are bad on defense.  Kinda excited for the Leeds-Chelsea game.  It should have about 15 goals based on what I've seen so far this year.

Just remember Chelsea thought it was a fair offer to swap Kepa straight for Gigi Donnarumma.  :lmao:
First goal was no where near his fault.  Third goal was deflected by a header.  Second goal he should've gotten to, but that's clearly a stupid mistake by Zouma.  I get that he's not a championship quality GK, but man does he get let down by his defense a lot.

Aleksandar Kolarov doing his best today to give Milan a win. Makes a dumb challenge to give the PK and now misses his mark on Ibra and lets him go in unchallenged for a goal

You can only blame the defense so much but when your Keeper continues to make absolute mind boggling mistakes it gets really hard to justify. My point was Kept is not worth the 70M they paid for him and a straight swap for Gigi is absolutely laughable. I wouldn't even pay 20M for Kepa at this point.

Agreed, although it sounds like Gigi is gonna be free next summer anyway so maybe the price was correct.   :P

Explanation is despite Simon Kjear of Milan touching it while Lukaku was off that it was unintentional touch by Kjear on a deflection. Therefor with Lukaku was still in an offsides position when Erikson passed it.

Sandro Tonali who could've gone to Inter comes in for The Tank Frank Kessie. Tonali making his first Derby app with his boyhood club

Lukaku with a chance just can't put it in. Despite some questionable calls Inter has really not done well with their chances they've had.

Game set Match. Milan beats Inter for first time since 2016 in League play Jane 22. First "away" win for Milan in the Derby since Ibra's PK 1-0 winner in 2011
