Foden seemed due.
That's on everyone who just let City dribble up field ....
If Matip doesn't deflect it I think it gets disallowed.“passive offside”
No idea how he closed down that fast. That went from completely wide open to shut down in a fraction of a second (I know that feeling too).Wow. What a play by Dias
Correction....Rodri
Not a missed call. Thierney called the foul on Henderson first. Now, that could’ve been a mistake, but he made the decision to not give the advantage, so not reviewable either.Milner should have seen yellow. Really lucky there. Bad missed call
I feel for him. He scored an even better one against Spurs to take the lead in 18/19, only to have Spurs equalize on a pk last 10.Just like his previous highlight goal that was really similar. This one might have been better and his best ever.
That's the one I'm talking about. I need to rewatch to see which is better, but I think today was going from memory.I feel for him. He scored an even better one against Spurs to take the lead in 18/19, only to have Spurs equalize on a pk last 10.
Today's was better. That move he made on Bernadinho was absolute filth.Salah vs Tottenham
Salah goal vs Man City
I think today was better. More intricate footwork, difficulty of shot, and it was with his right foot (non dominant)
Weekly Sunday night Pinochle game at GGGG's.is something wrong with Lletget? Why is he not playing?
This is definitely a major issue. No true holding MF that can allow Ole to go more 4-3-3 then this double pivot. I would rather see McT in there alone for now then Matic or Fred.I’m not even sure what is missing but CR definitely touched on one thing - buildup is too slow when they are in possession. On the counter they are fast and look dangerous. And it continues to baffle me that with all these options he continues to start 2 of Fred, McT and Matic in a lot of games.

Not sure what Shaw was doing on the goal. After Fred just gave it away....
Good to see Martial get a goal. He played well and so did Sancho when he came on.
United are missing two things right now. A holding MF and someone who can run in behind and stretch the defense. Rashford coming back will help the second. As quick as the others are, no one gets in behind as fast as Rashford does.
Ole may turn out to not be the answer. Conte is definitely NOT the answer, not with the excellent rebuild Ole has done. Jose Jr would kill it again. They need a more dynamic manager. Not sure who is available that can build on what Ole has done, but those avail currently would more than likely tear it all down.
uh... wat?
I think Rash on the left, CR7, then Greenwood on the right is your main team. Sancho & Martial rotating through. But this depends on Pogba moving back to the CM spot with Bruno and ?. McT would be my choice but none of the 3 get me excited.I'm just failing to see what the plan is and then how Rashford fits back in.
On the plan - it feels like they've assembled an all-star team (minus some of the defense and holding mids) and they play like it at times. Often no urgency until they go behind - waiting for a moment of brilliance. They do get the moment of brilliance enough and they dominate possession in most games but again, they seem better on the counter attack because it's then that the move the ball quickly. It feels like Ole would rather play like Chelsea (super solid defense) than a smothering all-out attack like City/Liverpool but they look too vulnerable on defense to do that. I'd like to see him just stick to one DM in most games and throw caution to the wind.
On Rashford - He's not taking time from CR and he's never been good up top. Greenwood has been one of the best players so far this season so don't think he should lose his spot and Sancho needs time but that's who I would sit to integrate Rashford back in. I don't think CR, Greenwood, Sancho and Rashford can be out there together - lots of game so rotation is good like you've talked about.
Rashford takes a beating when he's the lone striker. He is not built for back to the goal play or getting into that congestion. He is best coming off the wing and running at or in behind people. He can play up top, but if everyone is healthy I would rather see Greenwood, Martial, Cavani or CR7 there over Rashford. He's at his best as a winger - just MO. Never been good was probably an overstatement. He's not a lone striker to sit up top by himself.

Although I would love to see Rash Greenwood Sancho get time up top together. I bet it would be fun to watch.
Ole finally has the depth to rotate and keep guys fresh, but he's going to lose it if he doesn't have faith in players like VdB. And when he does give them time, they damn well better perform. Double edged sword.
He's only rotational due to CR7 coming in. Had that not happened you would get Rashford Greenwood Sancho as your starters with Martial, Cavani, Amad as your 2nd team/rotational guys. And that's some good depth and allows game changers on the bench. Something they have severely lacked the last 2 seasons.. CR7 changed everything, for better or worse and was very unexpected. Hopefully they can all learn from Cavani and Ronaldo and force Ole to sit them bothI know United can manage the money but man, it's rough to spend 100M on somebody who is a rotation player. Probably should have sold Martial and brought in midfield depth. Ronaldo could have provided cover to Sancho and Greenwood on the wings while Rashford was recovering. Granted CR moved late so they wouldn't have known that but Martial is too good to sit and be relegated to the Daniel James role. And they could use midfield help. Hell Mata could play there in a pinch.

I would think pretty seriously. The 4 teams involved (Belgium and France tomorrow) have already played 6 WCQ and this is all they have this break. They don't have WCQ until November and all 4 are comfortably on top of their groups. How seriously are we expecting the respective countries to take this game?
