saved by Samba- his 3rd (this one was pretty weak, tbh)!!

the case of the mysterious bathing whore and Holmes in Wembley is ON!
and regardless of who wins, there's no way either of these teams stays up. but should be fun for the fans and team to see EPL teams and players every week.

of course the two players who primarily take our set pieces miss. devastated, but the plus side is the money saved through not going to wembley will pay for a season ticket next season

oh crap... for some reason I thought you were a Wednesday supporter. sucks, man... they played well at least. I'd have been rooting for Sheff if I had remembered.

How is that not a card?

Great support as always for Frankfurt. Their sections are completely white while they are also intermingled in the Rangers section.

Marco Alonso a little switched off there.

well taken goal, but yikes.

and on a dangerous 3 v 2CP run easily off the ball after a bad touch Stu's leg-breaker.

wait a ####### second...

Peacock just cut to commercial mid-game?! is this a thing? because buh-bye peacock right now if so.

anybody else having issues with this game on Peacock?

eta: it says "coverage will resume shortly"...

I’m torn. On one hand, want Jesse/Leeds to stay up. On the other more vindictive hand, I want Jordan Pickford to cry.
Speaking of Pickford, he's been pretty great for Everton this year.  But will 3 Lions really start a Championship GK in the 2022 WC?  Can you imagine?

Sunday! Sunday! Sunday!

Battle for 1st, 1 point difference
City v Villa
Liverpool v Wolves

Battle to avoid Relegation, level on pts
Leeds at Brentford
Burnley v Newcastle

Battle for Europa v Europa Conf League, 2 pts diff (I think)
United at Palace
West Ham at Brighton

I’m supposed to hate Sunderland but I’m glad they won promotion to the Championship. I’d like to see them keep going so I can experience meaningful Newcastle/Sunderland derbies. I was still in Pittsburgh when the original Browns left and we were almost as angry as the Browns fans were - our hated rival was stolen from us! I feel the same here - I’ll hate Sunderland when it’s time to do so.

Liverpool, Everton, United, City, Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea, West Ham, Villa, Leeds, Newcastle, Sunderland -- these are the teams I always feel like "belong" in the EPL.  Maybe not coincidentally, that's 12 of the 13 teams with stadia that hold 38k+ (Wednesday is the other).

There are some live-by-their-wits teams I hope do well too, but I don't miss them when they're gone.

And while I adopted Liverpool a long time ago (and the connection seems to get deeper as I get older), I don't really root against Everton at all.  City and United are really the only teams I want to see suffer.

Agreed, except for Richarlison.

I also think Leicester belongs on that list now.

I'm extremely happy for Sunderland and those locals we saw in Sunderland til I Die.  Would love it if this means they might film a third season of the show.

Some insanity in Liga MX tonight.

Semi finals, second leg, Tigres vs Atlas.

Atlas is up 1-0 at half.  Tigres needs 4 goals to advance to final.

Gignac scores at hat trick giving Tigres a chance and then they get the 4th goal very late.

But not late enough.  Deeeeeeep into Fergie time, Atlas gets a PK in the 100th(!!!!!!) minute to advance to finals.
